So I picked up the Quest 3 a few weeks ago and honestly believe it's 1 of my best purchases of recent years. With the launch of the Apple Vision Pro, a lot of people including myself became interested in Spatial Computing (as apple calls it)
I demo'd the apple unit and wanted to compare it to my Quest 3. Overall, I can honestly say for majority of the people of the world - the Quest 3 is a clear winner. Now that doesn't mean the apple vision pro sucks because we know that's certainly not true. However, if you want something much cheaper that is equally as great - it's hard not to recommend this device.
It's more than just a gaming device, although this is what most people believe it to be. I decided to talk about my experience as well as share some footage that I recorded with the device.
Keep in mind, your passthrough will look better the more light you have. (This is why mine looks great in the daytime) Aside from this, let me know if you have any questions about this device.
I think this device is a great alternative for like iPads as well, of course you are not going to walk around with this all day but it certainly can get the job done.

I got mine recently & it's like a lot of other folks headset in that the pass-through is grainy. Gonna try the factory reset fix
How is your lighting at home? My home has a lot of natural light so that could be why it’s clearer for me.

You can reset 100 times and it won’t change anything

@@hieromonk120 All headsets, including the Vision Pro, will get grainy if there is not enough light.
@@dtz1000 factual! Same goes for literally every other camera I own lol.
@@hieromonk120 it’s comparable, I like the Vision Pros better for sure (better cameras) but it’s nowhere near as bad as people make it seem. I also understand cameras, so maybe that’s why my take is this way.
If you want a Vision Pro just tell your Landlord to kick rocks because you're buying it! 😂

Bro you can make music on this headset and play virtual instruments also, workout or the Mixed Reality games and I usually play all of my VR games on my Playstation VR2 which is probably better than the Apple Pro as it also has eye tracking OLED screen HDR and a feature that no headset has until this day and that is headset haptics as in it has a rumble motor in the headset so it makes you feel like your in the world but for all of the stuff people would use the Apple Vision Pro for I can do it all on my Quest 3 apart from the navigation as it doesn't have eye tracking but meta is working on a wrist band that tracks your individual fingers and I can buy gloves for my Quest 3 that will allow me to actually feel whats in the virtual world
that's pretty insane, I need to look into the PS Vr version as well!
As a person who loves Apple products, and was looking forward to the Apple Vision Pro, I was very disappointed that it just makes you a couch potato. I am active on my quest three I’m boxing I’m playing games and moving through areas, slashing my sword, or using my bow and arrow. It looks to me like the Apple vision pros for just sitting and looking at stuff. Don’t get me wrong if someone gave me one I would sit and look at stuff too but the quest three is in a whole different league. My only worry is that people will think the Apple Vision Pro is virtual reality when it’s just virtual watching.
I 100% can agree with this, I am going to do a deep dive more into the vision pro as well and see how they compare. That is 1 of the main differences I noticed, quest can keep you active while vision is really more of an assistant computer. There are numerous games on the quest 3 that I think would go well and def help to keep people active so you're spot on!
And definitely agree with 'virtual watching' lol there is def a difference.
Interesting perspective
The quest 3 works perfectly fine for my work and studying - on top of that it’s great for VR gaming. I really can’t see why anyone would buy the Vision Pro when it doesn’t do much more than the Quest 3
Same here but some people do just love apple as well, so that is reason enough! I love their designs but would like a more comparable product first. Since you can basically spatial compute on the quest 🤝🏾
Way to ignore the Apple ecosystem, recording 3D photos and videos, and the 3D extras via D+ and Apple.
Much easier to just reduce everyone who disagrees with you to Apple fanboys.
I think the ecosystem Is the primary reason apple can charge what they do. I mean hell, they've always taxed compared to others and the ecosystem has just come to be a huge advantage. I wasn't impressed with the 3d photos/videos but then again, I shoot videos for a living for clients so I'll always be a little bias'd there lol. the cameras will never touch the quality of my cameras (in the future yes, 1 day but not now) but yeah I like both, I'd def get both but quest is by far a better value for everyday use. (now connecting to my MacBook natively is awesome on the vision pro lol)
@@westmcgee9320 I’m sure the Vision Pro has some cool features that Quest 3 doesn’t have; I just don’t know any useful major features that allows you to work in a different dimension than the work you can do with Quest 3. Things might be a bit more simple and so on…
3d videos and photos doesn’t really change a lot considering the lack of usefulness for majority of users.
If you like the Vision Pro and you have the money, then go for it. I just think Quest 3 has so much more value for the price

What? Do you mean nauseating, causing motion sickness, with a warped, trippy pass through and general blurriness everywhere when in VR? Ok!
It’s hard to describe but I only observed this when playing games like the Asgard one that is sold with the device.
The other stuff seems fine and is easily tolerable/doesn’t feel odd.
No Google Earth Vr on Vision Pro. That's a mind-blowing experience on the Quest which you can get on every VRheadset except the Vision Pro. Sad.

@@westmcgee9320 you don't have to convince anyone, a product has to be benchmarked against it's competitors. By missing a huge part of the VR experience (gaming) it offers less value for money than e.g the Quest3. It's simple.
