If you are using the headset with glasses I highly highly recommend either getting prescription lenses for the quest or even better, getting contacts. In my experience It is a much better experience without wearing glasses under the quest 3.
Btw Shane , a cheap way to improve head strap comfort is to wear a 🧢 backward and wear the quest 3 over that.
Hi Shane, I highly recommend looking at the Kiwi battery pack strap as well. I got one for my Quest 2 and it is a game-changer for how much longer I can use my headset before the battery dies. It keeps it charged and allows pass-through charging to the headset itself so you only have to charge through the battery pack at the back and it charges both.
It is a little finicky the first time you plug it in, it goes in further than you might think but once you have it fully inserted it's fantastic.
Hi, saw your channel for the first time. About what I do with my Quest3, if I'm watching media on it? Well, Since a few weeks I'm doing that. I used to watch with my beamer in a dark room. But got a bit bored by that. Now my browser and my movie player has pass-through, I like to watch movies with my headset. I have a similar headstrap like the one you showed, but with a 6000 mHa battery that is good for an additional 2 hours. The headstrap makes watching so comfortable that I don't watch on the big screen anymore. I don't use earphones, because the loudspeakers of the Q3 are good enough.
Hi, like your video, just wanted to know if you knew that you could move the key board to a better position using the bar at the bottom of the keyboard, or slide the screen using the bar the bottom of the windows open, or move the whole deck using the bar at the bottom of the deck after that adjust the keyboard, (they are 3 different bars that you can use to adjust the position of the keyboard). Also to get a better resolution I use sidequest (pc) to boost the image and texture quality of the quest, it does come at a cost to battery life and resets to default when you restart the quest, to remedy that I have the side quest app on my phone to send the commands to the quest..
The biggest difference in media consumption, for me, is 3D movies. Having a larger screen is neat, but having a huge 3D screen is just amazing! Sources are a bit difficult to get, mostly you need to own and rip 3D blu-rays, but the experience is incredible!
Quest 3 is great for just browsing the web and watching videos when you don't play games. I've done a bit of productivity through immersed for myself to try it out, but lots of companies won't allow you to use a headset that way. I've had Gear VR, Oculus go, Quest 2 and 3, and never really had a problem with any of the head straps, so never considered changing any of them. I would pay for a cheap copy of the Apple Solo Knit band for the Quest, just because it does look cool.
From what I've seen, the solo knit band is actually terrible since it doesn't have a strap over top and causes all the weight to be at the front of the device on your face. I don't know why Apple didn't think to make it possible to combine it with their other strap that comes in the box, that would have been the smarter move.

My top things are Exercise, productivity and gaming. When I am traveling, productivity switches with exercise. I have watched a few things in VR, but I prefer a standard TV. Also, I am normally with my wife and it is kind of antisocial to put VR on and watch something, so I don't do that.
With software upgrade they can make one keyboard for all windows.
I got a BoboVr M3 Pro yesterday and have tried removing the facia. Omg it is so much better for pass through as now the quest isn’t even on my face. Just floating in front of it

The most underrated use case for Quest 3 is while pooping 😂. Crude but true, who doesn't want to poop on the moon?

Wired earbuds sound soooooo much better than wireless. My $20 JBLs sounds way better than my $200 Airpods. The whole hand tracking not disappearing when watching media is heinous and unnecessary. It's done properly in the app lab VentaX app (recommended btw) but is just annoying in most others. Thanks for these videos, I'm learning a lot.
I only wish they made a way to shut off hand detection when watching tv/movie. I sit on my hands so they don’t keep flickering the screen.

@@MrMrduke1975 Go to the app library.. Then to the "use hands in vr" app.. And hit turn off... meta really should put it in the settings menu, it would make more sense..
It has been announced that an upcoming update will automatically turn off hands when there is little movement while watching media and remove the head cursor.
I'm doing this every day But the UX is probably the most mind boggling thing.

You can change the size of it. Click on the clock / battery on the left side of the tool bar, then click on switch distance.

Its only two clicks to disable hand tracking..
I don't want to disable hand tracking, I want it to be smart enough to know when I'm watching something and stop showing my cursor. They've actually talked about addressing this recently.
I love all your videos, but these you've made about all the things you can do with the Meta Quest people overlooked until the Apple headset came out is some of the best stuff you've made.
