      The dispersion is disgusting. It's why I stopped at t6. Russia usn ijn and France have the best t7 bb.

    Thanks for the honest review, I was also looking forward to this ship. I think I’ll get the discounted Graf Spee instead

    With the bb secondary boost, p.e. friedrich could be better at brawling than before.

      I've fiddled about with it in AI now and again, but I think the armor issue is still going to be an issue at that range. Let me know if you have any success with it though.

      @@theelderkine fair enough. Theres lots of ships people like that I'm just not a big fan of so I get where you're coming from. The Kidd being one of the bigger examples, I bought it and just never really clicked with it yet everyone raves about it

    I've really enjoyed this ship and have had great luck with it. Its noticeably more accurate than other German Battleships with the same captain and has fantastic range. Of course I'm using a 16+2 Hyde with Cunningham which is the best of all worlds. Great accuracy, 5 heals, and not really any speed/handling disadvantages. Penetration is good for the gun caliber and the extra accuracy makes those citadel shots devastating

    Hey there again, another ship I recently stumbled in to during the holidays. This was one I was pretty happy to see, since I do like the German battleships/battlecruisers represented in Legends. It's definitely a good looking ship. Glad the extrapolated "upgrades" were reasonable to keep her close to what she likely would have been.
    Thanks for the tips regarding its survivability. I will definitely build it more for range/accuracy and stay as far from trouble as is reasonable without cursing the german accuracy. It's almost too bad, since I'd love this to be the punching bag/brawler that other german ships are at closer range. Seems like it will be a fun ship still though, and it's fairly good looking.
    Happy holidays!

    I mean to be fair you let a 2x fire tick you down from 44.4k to around 17k (with some assistance from the New Mexico). Just an insight that it wasnt just the New Mexico that got you that low. It was mainly the fires you didn't put out. I do see what you mean by not wanting to brawl though.

  • @darthsidioustheemperor7976

    Can somone explain turtleback armour lol sounds dumb but i honestly dont know

    • @tacticangel
      @tacticangel  Před 4 lety +1

      There are many different theories about how to best protect a ship, many of which assume that a shell may defeat the outer layer of armor. The general theory is that as long as the ship doesn't take a ton of sudden, critical damage, warships are actually remarkably hard to sink.
      Turtleback is one of those schemes that includes an angled sheet of armor usually starting several feet below the waterline and angled upwards towards the center of the ship. The theory is that even if a shell defeats the outer armor, the shell would be repelled by this second layer of armor and help deflect the projectile and the blast away from any vital areas inside the ship that are located beneath (boilers, turbines, and magazines, aka the citadel). The way this works in World of Warships is, though you can pretty easily get through the side of a German battleship, you'll notice that it is very hard to actually score a critical hit against something like a Bayern or Scharnhorst, which is because the shell is usually deflected by that slanted piece of armor.
