Quick tip, you can actually tell whether or not a Budyonny has radar equiped by looking at the center of the ship. If it has a catapult, it has fighter equiped, if the catapult is not present they have radar equiped.

I think Colorodo's greatest weakness is her speed. Every other battleship at tier 6-7 and at least half of tier 5 are faster than her. Because of this she has to commit to a side and cannot reposition if things go wrong. Against tier 5 she's a good ship but at tier 6 or 7 she's kinda lack luster because her armor can't tank 16in guns and her speed means you can't run away from anything.

yea,and even though my teammates know that I am the main target for the enemy team,they decide to just leave me alone with pros (according to pros,T7 is more fun than LT) and instead of going for the cap,they just try to kill the ships from the other side.
But if Colorado is used correctly,it can be a beast of a ship,as shown in this video.
and her accuracy is hit or miss (lol) sometimes it’s really good and sometimes you get 1 hit

I’ve never thought of her as bad. I’m generally a US Bb player. The only time I didn’t like her was grinding for the Iowa waaaaaaay back in the day
I may be a little biased since i'm from the state but I like Colorado alot in fact it's one of my most played ships behind the vladi
I’m also from Colorado, and the Colorado in this game is my tank of warships. She may be slow, but you equip her with rudder shift upgrade and she can be surprisingly agile for a good shuffle.
My weakness or downfall “dreadnought shuffle my timing pretty much be like the Colorado in this video I’m glad I’ve seen this though it’s been real helpful this and ending up in a bad spot were my only issues I should be good now
Good gameplay spartan. First i hated that colorado, but after some games and experimt i end up with Willis Lee as commander for the extra heals and secundery. It works ok for me

I got my first Kraken! And it was in Colorado. I don't mind that she's slow. When the shells don't fall short and give the blues a 16" bath, she cleans house. An Iowa and I sailed around and took out 9 of the 10 in the lobby. After grinding forever I am having fun in the US lines, thanks a lot to your advice. Stay the course, Spartan.

The Colorado is one of my favorite ships in the game because of the guns. I had the same problem with cruisers but I find that if you aim higher intentionally to get thicker armor and do full pen damage and even some times get lucky with a citadel!
The things that annoy me the most about colorado is the dispersion of main guns.

hi spartan! great video again. the other day i deathstruck and iowa in it and ended the game with about 180k damage and 3000 xp. so i agree with you. it's not that bad just very squishy when bowtanking!
Also every time a teammate dies the enemy team gets more points. There is a certain amount of points allocated to each ship if you pull up the map and look towards the bottom. Towards the end of each match this could be the deal breaker between winning or losing the match.

That's what I'm doing right now and it's painful. I've gotten some nice clips, and I do pretty good damage, but if you get caught in a bad spot you don't have the speed or armor to get out of it
The worst tech tier BB where I just became so fed up with it and used GXP was Fuso. If it didn't have the purpose for bureau projects it would have been sold already.
Had a similar reaction to the Izmail. Trying to dreadnought shuffle with her gun arrangement is downright painful. Given her exposed citadel, spotty accuracy and trollish armor I just couldn't bring myself to grind her and jumped to the Sinop.

To be honest, I like all American ships. I'm totally not biased either lol, it's just that most of em are actually good if you play them well and right. Colorado is a great ship as long as you don't potato. Positioning and awareness is extremely important especially in an American dreadnought. If you're a slow ship, thinking ahead is KEY! Great video as always Spartan.
5:15 "people just do not understand, or comprehend, what it takes to win" PREACH!!!!!! This is my biggest complaint about the game!!!! I love this game but it gets SOOO frustrating when your team has literally no clue what to do or how to win.
Also I feel like there are very few ships that are actually "bad". It's how you use the ship! Every ship is different and has their own strengths and weaknesses. Anyone can be trash in the "best" ship in the game, and vice versa anyone can do really well in the "worst" ship in the game. Colorado isn't a bad ship in my books.
The armor is the thing that makes her so punishing. Lack of speed and weak armor means you feel every mistake you make

This ship for me honestly didn’t feel very squishy even though it can easily get overmatched, i find that it doesn’t get punched through the bow like North Carolina
For this reason I use to stay angled in an 1v1 situation with battleships and battle or heavy cruisers until I have calculated his reload time 🤯😈😈
I just came back to the Colorado, it was the first ship that made me just turn around and go to another side of the map lol. I played the QE A LOT. And no matter what I did this thing would just tear me up, everything else i could do something about not the Colorado, i would just go to the other side of the map. At that time i think the only 16 inch guns in tier 6 were the Colorado and the Nagato. You definitely could fight a Nagato and win but not a Colorado, but you could just simply outrun the Colorado.

Hopefully someday I get opportunity to battle alongside you. Then you'll get to see what it's like to have meaningful cruiser support. Any BB that is out trying to do BB things will always have my guns firing alongside it.

I'm mostly playing BBs and the amount of dumb teammates I get in recent matches is almost unbearable at this point.

No worries, I'm not expecting some super skilled player, just someone who knows, that it is a really bad idea to switch from A cap to C cap as a cruiser, when your BB is heading for A cap. It happens so often, I can't even count the matches anymore.
How do you switch to fighter planes? On ps4 it has cannon boost
Not all ships can but If you go to your loadout for your ship and click on the spotter plane you can change it to a fighter or vice versa
It's a 16" gun bb at tier 6, it's not bad, it's also may people's first lines to get the disappointment that is thr iowa

@@redtob2119 Unreliable accuracy , Ap cant citadel non German battleships at 17.5km , so your 20.3 km range wont be used for anything other than He spamming a Yamato.
Then its Armor , they way its set up means that anybody with a good know about about ap performance will chunk you for 8K every salvo , 4K if its a light cruiser a dd
So you have a lot of range but not the gun performance to utilize it
You have a lot of hp but not the armor layout to survive for very long
You are massive so dds will almost always hit you if they are launching from anything other than your front
And then there is the fact that you can't disingage from fights , if you try to turn out and kite you will get citadeled to oblivion
It's just dysfunctional ship that only performs well against tier 6s and braindead idiots , put it ap against a skilled player in litteraly any other ship of the tier and you are guranteed to lose the fight automatically
@@pads-zr9ln The Iowa is one of my best ships and I'm not much of a BB player. Yeah, I notice the power creep but it's still pretty solid if one builds and plays it right. Any ship is bad if a potato is driving her.
I never thought Colorado was Bad in My opinion its one of The best ships on The tier
I think Colorado still suffers from its perceptions when the PC version of WOWS launched. Wargaming had a technique to extract money out of the player base when there were not a lot of premium ships to sell. They would place a ship that was colossally bad in the tech tree line to encourage players to spend money to Free XP their way past it. Typically they would put an over performing ship right before it as well. For example When WOWS PC launched there was only the American and Japanese lines. The New Mexico was a TERROR at T-6, it was one of my favorite seal clubbing ships. The Colorado at T-7 did 33% less DPM had worse dispersion than the New Mexico while facing tougher competition. The Japanese Cruiser line the Furutaka was that ship, the Izumo was that ship in the BB line. For the US it was the Pensacola or more affectionately known as the Pepsi Cola because of its seemingly aluminum armor. As premium ships became the backbone of the game these tech tree ships were massively buffed and are no longer the nightmare ships they once were.

Am I missing something? I just unlocked the Colorado but don't have an option for a spotter plane. Only enhanced secondary targeting. What gives?
Once you upgrade the Colorado you should have a catapult fighter which you can swap for the spotter plane

it really sucks that "most" players these days play for "themselves" and NOT for the actual team....so many times I've witnessed first-hand: teammate abandonment, kill stealing, running away, and everybody's favorite...HIDING IN THE BACK BEING COMPLETELY USELESS.... Yes, this is our game's lovely downfall. Developers refusing to fry the potatoes for not helping more. Great Rundown, Spartan!!! Keep telling them to be more active like TBull does.... Cheers.

Bro when other people use this ship they get railgun accuracy yet when i use it i can't even hit a broadside cruiser at 10 km.
If only my Colorado can do that when I was grinding for iowa

My issue with it is that it's such a pudding before you get any upgrades in it. It is incredibly slow and can't turn, so it just gets annihilated by torpedo bombers and you're doomed if a destroyer gets near. After the upgrades, it's a lot more capable.
The colarado is great ship i have done amazing job with it in my path to iowa i dealt alot of damage and her armor were strong

I can never get the American BB commander I need, so I'm stuck with the base one. I don't even have an American DD or CL commander. So unless I get in close my shells never hit despite me not being that bad of a shot since I main BBs so I know how to aim. I have no clue if I'm really just that bad, but I really hate the fact that I need commanders that drop via RNG to make my ships effective or fun. Colorado is simply way too slow for me to make her work, I would either go down a flank with no one close enough to shoot, or end up alone after my team pushes into a perma spotted enemy BB and die after only 2 minutes into the game.
Not to say I don't do the same thing from time to time, but this thing needs to be lowered a tier. And I am yet to see a good Colorado player in person.
She’s one of my favorite ships and I play her with Lee as a brawler.
Not sure if it's bad...but at 4km watching your AP shells hit the water when your aiming half way up seems like another problem or just the operator??

I don’t have anything against the Colorado but it’s just the armor as you are somewhat praying that your belt works. Overall good ship.
I think Nagato is way worse than Colorado; it may be faster, the armor is similar but citadel is way more exposed. This can lead to some very wierd situations due to overmatch

I would argue Colorado is the strongest tech tree BB at the tier behind the Sinop. Easily. And easily better at range
The biggest issue with the command wheel is that 90% of players have the voiceover setting set to national voiceover.. This means unless players are using U.S. or U.K. ships, then they have no clue as to what their teammates are saying with the command wheel..
That is why I use the standard voiceover setting, because I do not speak Japanese, French, Italian, Russian, or Chinese.. I want my teammates to know what my pings are saying. Plus, when a teammate is calling for help, I want to understand him so I can assist him. Teammates aren't always paying attention to the map so when I point out that out base is currently being captured I want my teammates to understand me.
Basically, if you or your teammates have their voiceover setting set to national, then there's a 90% chance that they have no clue as to what your pings are saying and you end up being seen as a huge annoyance.. This is a MASSIVE gameplay flaw for a game that is so dependent on teamwork.
Wargaming slightly helped this issue by flashing all command wheel pings on the side of the hud but for new players/potatoes most likely can't pay attention to both the command wheel prompts that show up on the hud and play the game at the same time. And with most of the player base not being able to think and breathe at that the same time,

I disagree. Mine is standard and teammates still ignore requests for help. 90% of the player base are just idiots.
@@IdealUser I didn't say anything about player skill or intelligence. Of course there will be bad players that ignore pings even if they understand the language. But pinging in a language that players understand can only help, not hurt.
Except all the command wheel commands each have their own specific symbols you can see when you look at them in the feed. For instance, if someone is requesting intelligence data, regardless of the language its in it always appears as a little radar symbol with a couple blips on it. 'Get back' has an arrow that looks like a u-turn symbol. The boasting 'this is how its done' has a symbol of a smiley face wearing sunglasses so on and so forth. I dont need to speak all those languages to know what you're saying, I need only pay attention to the feed.

Standard captains or pay to win? Colorado never bothered me but my accuracy is closer to Gneisenau than Iowa. I can hit in front, behind and on both sides with the same salvo.

Tbf spartan. The budyonny was incredibly low and could've very easily been murdered by a DD. That being said moving into a Colorado isn't very smart
Looks like the Colorado behaves the same on both PC and Console.
Early going the Colorado is as hard as they come. But with a fully upgraded secondary build it is a beast.

To me the Colorado is not a bad ship its just mediocre at best plus a bad match for her tier. It is so slow, when other BB at that tier are far faster, and a few BB too in the lower tier too, like the North Carolina the other tier VI BB is far faster. Then add on it armor that cannot stop 15in let alone 16in guns. That makes it weak to the tier V BB like Queen-Elizabeth with her 15in, and there are a few BB at that tier with 15in guns. Then in the tier VI, were now you have 16in showing up to, and 15in on top of that its not good. Off the top of my head the only ship in tier VI that has smaller guns is King George V-class with 14in guns.
It has bad AA next to other BB in its tier and a few lower sometimes, so a CV is the end of it most times,
I think the US BB line needs a new split after Wyoming making three lines, this new line would have the place Pennsylvania-class Pennsylvania at tier IV, then Colorado at Tier V as it fits better there, the Lexington-class battlecruiser at tier VI as we get Battlecruisers in the BB line and it has 16in guns, after that no clue,
I then put the South Dakota-class battleship (1939) in Colorado place on the old line. Now after all that said in the hands of someone like you it moves past its limits and is a beast. But most of us are not you, and well never get that out of her.

If you try to tell yourself, oh, I'll just play smart and it'll happen. Yeah right. Better to just play like a noob until you can get it over with. I love the Colorado btw.

I see a lot of people sit broad in it and to me all I see is a free kill. Litterly just played a game of hood after making this comment and animated a broadside Colorado
I somewhat prefer Colorado over N. Carolina mostly because I believe she's slightly more tanky but I'm not a huge fan of either or tier 6 bb's in general the way I am other American bbs. As sexy as Iowa looks, I'm more comfortable with the "standard" American bbs than the "fast" bbs.
And I still think WG screwed up. Carolina should be before Iowa and Colorado should be before Kansas. Both ships play more closely alike that way rather than how the tech tree is actually laid out.
the Colorado ain't bad, it's just slow to get to the enemy your teammates kill everything so you spend your entire time chasing down ships. Your teammates are like ha, ha, you gotta be quicker than that, Boom.

I hate the Colorado but somehow it was the ship I got my only kraken unleashed in. My buddy and I (I was playing Colorado because of him) fought off several destroyers alone to win the game. I think it's a good ship if you play it like a t5 ship even in t6 or t7 lobbies. I just think the North Carolina is immensely better. Colorado holds my kill record and NC holds my damage record.
For me Colorado and Nagato were the most painful grinds ever.

By Tier V or VI you should have at least some knowledge of basic mechanics. It’s insane how dumb sole people are. Laying out Torps for destroyers at point blank with no health rather than using guns. Or battleships sailing broadside shooting HE. It’s annoying as hell.

The Colorado is difficult to play, but your right, it's not bad if you know how to use it.
In my positive view of life.... Colorado = good challenge... but when it hits.... it hits hard!!
Also.. imo West Virginia is funner at tier 5.

Colorado isn’t bad, but it suffers heavily from tier 6 battleship syndrome. 25mm bow, not the best accuracy, and being piss slow.
This is why I want friendly fire. To kill idiots on my team.

I hated Colorado when I first played through her. Revisited the ship for some bureau missions and it totally changed my mind. I just needed the patience and experience to appreciate the ship.
Now Colorado in blitz was never my favorite
My Colorado hits harder than my Iowa and is way more accurate, way more enjoyable in my opinion
1st time playing it. With no upgrades, got 4 kills 200k damage (one of my best games ever) THEN had someone messaged me "I reported you for cheeting" 🤣
