    I’m a combat veteran it’s taking way to long for my claim to go through it’s been 8 months and counting why do they make so process so long it’s so unfair you can give other countries soldiers a billion dollars to fight a war in their country but can’t take care combat veterans who suffered illnesses and injuries who fought the war back home

      1000% Same here. Going on sick call means you're broke and useless. Just rub some dirt on it! I always felt like I was doing something wrong going on sick call. Years later it almost feels like it was coordinated. If you don't go on sick call you don't get anything documenting in your medical records. Which you need later as the nexus for service related..🤔🤔

    What is the likelihood that veterans can get together and sue the Department of VA/Government for denying benefits and negligence and win? It is absolutely ridiculous that this money is being poorly managed and denied to the people who have served this country.

    The VA is pretty terrible. I filed an update for dependents because they had me as a single vet. I have been married for over 23 years and have two children. You'd think once I submitted everything it would be a pretty simple update to the system. Nope, here I sit months later and my claim for dependents is still stuck in stage 1. Ridiculous!

    The VA and VA hospitals need to be shut down, and veterans should be allowed to visit private doctors for their care. When I first retired from the Army, I had a wonderful primary care doctor. However, once private for-profit insurance companies got involved, everything went downhill. Initially, they made me pay for insurance but still allowed me to see my private practice doctor instead of the VA. A few years later, they mandated that I go to the VA for healthcare, and on top of the insurance costs, they started charging co-pays. The VA system is terrible, and I know this firsthand because I worked there as a caregiver and a behavioral health technician. They hire the worst staff to care for the best people, and it's sickening.

    • @stevemyers4886

      @@user-pz8yd5jg7y Blaming one party oversimplifies the issue. The VA healthcare system has systemic problems that go beyond politics. Initially, I had good care from a private doctor, but private insurance and mandated VA use worsened my experience. As a former VA worker, I've seen poor hiring practices and declining care quality firsthand. We need comprehensive reforms to ensure veterans get the quality care they deserve.

    • @Kenbot2
      @Kenbot2 Před měsícem +1

      It’s unfortunate that the VA has failed you according to you. Many of us love the VA and the healthcare we receive. I wouldn’t trade my VA healthcare for anything.

    • @stevemyers4886
      @stevemyers4886 Před měsícem +2

      @@Kenbot2 My experience has been quite different. The challenges I faced, from inconsistent care quality to financial burdens im😡😡posed by insurance companies and co-pays, have been significant.
      While some veterans receive excellent care at VA facilities, the quality of care can vary widely. For those of us who have had negative experiences, allowing access to private healthcare options could provide necessary alternatives and potentially better care.
      Addressing staffing issues, improving the standard of care across all VA facilities, and reducing the financial burden on veterans are crucial steps. Advocacy for these changes is vital to ensure that all veterans receive the quality care they deserve, whether through the VA or private healthcare options.

    Like this guy.........The IRS is the answer. They already have the DD214s when we applied for SS. Create a separate 1040 form for Veterans only. Make the standard deductible so large, the Veteran and his/her spouse never pays Federal Taxes again. His/her service paid for it in their youth. At our advanced age, most of our incomes are modest to begin with, and the taxes lost offer little, if any threat to the tax base. Starting at 65 or 70, paying Federal Taxes should cease for life..........offer the Vet a choice between disability payments, or the tax route!! Clear up the backlog, and help with present day enlistments, who see this in their future if they join today. Win Win..........
