Mel Robbins is one of my favourite speakers, I love her books including the more recent one ‘The High Five Habit’ she is brilliant she keeps it real , honest and vulnerable as does Steven so this interview is just a match made in heaven, one of his best interviews in my humble opinion! Keep them coming Steven I’m so excited to see what you have planned for the next few weeks and for 2022 🤩

Loneliness also takes a toll on health. It may take a while but it definitely shortens ones life. I thought I was lonely just being single for yrs after my son's mom left me out of the blue but once my parents both died within a yr after loosing grandma a yr before that's when it got real. I'm an introvert so enjoy alone time but not all of it. I do have a son but only see him every couple weeks due to visitation rights. He will be 18 soon and plans to go to college in another state. The thing I miss the most is touch as that's how I feel love. I have improved myself all these years and tried the online dating thing. It's not what it was in the beginning. I've made no progress but I remember yrs ago when online dating was new it was very easy to find a date. I'm not sure why it's changed for the worst but for society I don't think it's good. I read an article the other day saying we have a mental health crisis coming and a loneliness one as well. They said it would be a few yrs but is fast approaching. God help us! 🙏

I owe my confidence to you mel, I am a chronic procrastinator, in my 37 years of life always strugged with punctuality, discipline, waking up late kept hitting the snooze button 10 times. I hated myself, played the victim game but also wanted to have big in life, big dreams, but never really mustered the courage to pursue them. I never even shared my dreams with anyone coz always felt people are gonna laugh at me. People always thought and I think they still do that I am a fool, can't do even a small work without messing up and I believe d them that yes I really can't. Today after listening you I realized I also went through sexual and physical abuse in my childhood days. Which my nervous system has recorded . My parents also never took pride in me because they thought I am not pretty and smart enough. Rather they always pulled me down, discouraged and ignored and embarrassed me even in front of other people and I never raised my voice against it coz I thought this is what i deserve. I was ashamed of myself in so many ways. Even I was good at so many things I never really valued myself and always focused on what I didn't have. People always made fun of me, and always always always mistreated me made me feel small good for nothing and I didn't even realize d it because it normal for me. At times when I even felt bad didn't talk back because I was really scared of people that they will start scolding me in front of others which will add to my misery. After going through crores and lakhs of self help videos I watched yours and I finally got my answer which I searched for 37 years. I always knew thers something in me which needs to be addressed and corrected my overthinlinh, time management etc but didn't understand what was the reason behind. But today I understood there's nothing physical thing stopping me, but my thoughts. I am capable of so many things but because of my past experiences . I think I can't do anything right. Till now I had this false belief that I can't do the dishes every night before going to bed and also clean the kitchen every night. But after watching you u have been doing this since 15 days consistently Thank you❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

@@now591 honestly I feel absolutely great! Been a solid good year of growth and consistency especially towards health and fitness. But I only feel this way because of visualisation and consistency. All I’m saying is that if you want something as bad as you want to breathe than you gotta put in the work EVERYDAY! These motivational speakers that come with strategy just chat bs. Be real with yourself. Find out what you want in life and be delusional confident and put in the work. That’s the only equation that I’ll ever follow

Most of us (about 80%) have now stopped working due to our anxiety and afraid of the triggers. It is dreadful. Notes and quotes from this podcast:
"Anyone is capable of achieving anything if they put their mind to"
"The bigger the problem, the smaller the solutions are. The bigger the dream, the smaller the actions that you need to start taking. "
" The window of hesitation defines your whole life, it is about 5 seconds long and that is where anxiety, hesitation and imposter syndrome live"
" No Human being is born hating themself, we are wired for love and connection"
" Being excited and being nervous are the exact same feeling, but the only difference is what your brain is thinking is happening"
" Understanding what is the trigger for the bad feeling is what will help you prevent it"
" Your brain learns pattern, which is where you should focus in fixing your patterns"

This is one of the best. Thank you!
I started the high five this morning. I've started it at least 10 times over the last year and never followed through because I didn't feel anything. Today I felt something. Many important parts of this interview flashed through my mind. And when I finished my high five, I stood staring in the mirror. I saw that my handprint was very clearly there. I apologised to myself, for not being there for me. I was massaging my sore hands as I stood there. I looked down at my hands in the mirror and realized that this is another self affirming action. Soothing and comforting my joints that have gotten me through so much. Seeing that in the mirror really did something for me. It hit home. I was the observer. Observing that person over there, showing themself kindness and working to bring relief. High five is not the only thing that we can do in the mirror. What else? Suggestions?

I love listening to you and thank you for the research and the guests you have on your show and you don’t even know, I’m sure how many people you help across the globe even with your tracking service involved. THANK YOU BOTH! I love learning these things!

This CD has three separate relaxation/meditation sessions on it czcams.com/users/postUgkxzpa8CIfZcihW4Z0F_ja0QF3W9KIatrsq guided by a very pleasant and direct male voice. Unlike so many other products of its type, this CD does not have bad synthesizer music, does not feature a phony or affected style of narration, and does not make any bogus claims to be subliminal or to re-train the brain or any of that balderdash. What you get is 1. a guided meditation for getting into a pleasantly relaxed state of body awareness while taking a stroll (superb for those easing back into a fitness routine slowly after an illness or injury) 2. A nice long breath-awareness relaxation session that if followed diligently can put you into very deep states of full-body relaxation and mental calmness, and 3. a buddhist-inspired meditation session designed to help you develop and maintain feelings of loving kindness toward not just yourself and your friends, but toward people you don't even like. The CD makes no claims to be designed for advanced meditators or for buddhists or hindus/yoga practitioners looking for very deep and esoteric stuff. It is geared more toward the average person who just wants to develop the habit of relaxation and stress relief through natural, healthy means. him, if you happen to be reading this, keep up the good work fella, and I love your accent. I would also like to note that I have never fallen asleep while listening to this product. I would like to kindly suggest to the reviewer who said this CD makes him fall asleep, that he might want to get checked to see if he has a sleep disorder, or if he is simply not setting aside ample time for restful sleep at night. A healthy person getting adequate rest at night should be able to go into deep states of mental relaxation without dozing off, if not all the time, then most of the time.

Loved the episode. At the tail end, she said she partook in guided MDMA ceremonies. As a personal connoisseur and advocate of psychedelics, so much of what Mel pushes (her healing) is a byproduct of those MDMA sessions. I can say with confidence so much of my healing is attributed to MDMA and other psychedelics, and that’s the shortcut ticket to the self love she preaches. To be fully okay with who you are and to accept yourself is the greatest gifts psychedelics have given me. I wish she spoke more on this!!! Love you Mel.

I have heard of Mel and her 5 seconds rule for a long time, but never listen to her for the almost 2 hours. She is incredible. The last 30 minutes can’t be missed. When she said something like just do what you do, ignore the validation. One day you will be rewarded appropriately, this resonates with me so much. I learned a hard way you have to know where you worth most and be in that environment.

Man I love these interviews, it’s comforting to here Mel talk about her life and how genuinely genius and curious she is at unraveling the human condition and all the amazing phases we go through from stages of innocence and love to moments of chaos that we simply don’t know how to handle and how we develop a sympathetic nervous system beast and only by learning how to control our nerves, and develop a parasympathetic system of being a calm peaceful tranquil being and allowing your body to come down from that place of heightened awareness and protective flight mode and that by talking about our lives we can almost see a reflective mirror of what’s safe but to overcome that barrier by love and accepting yourself for your base state like how we all were on the first day of elementary school to learning how to unlearn bad habits and dance in the dark and laugh through uncomfortablility even if to just make an exit but those that are maybe desensitized or live with a extremest stoic approach is to find comfort in the uncomfortability so as to know you can make it through anything. And it’s by being on a knowing and faithful frequency that sets your spirit free and losing your mind becomes freeing and in a way transformative and consciousness expanding. you should never go full retard but think for yourselves I love you all peace and prosperity to all you beautiful crazies

Fascinating interview with Mel, I can so relate to many of her anxious experiences and her pathway to overcoming them. 2016 to 2020 I went through a hellish journey with anxiety that led to depression. I was taught many tools by an anxiety specialist for dealing with this debilitating condition through mostly NLP techniques that really worked for me so I recognise a lot of the re-programming that Mel is talking about. What a woman to share her story so powerfully, I think I might add the high-five to my daily routine. I don't have any problems with self-talk now, have gone from strength to strength and yet hearing her talk reminds me how far I've come so I'm massively grateful for this episode, thank you.

I feel like I related a lot to what Mel was describing as her response to the traumatic event from her childhood. I have a really delayed panic response. When I get into a scary situation in a car, I don't have that nervous sensation that is being described but instead I go cold. In the case of a car, I do appreciate the extra control this affords me because I am actually really good at defensive driving thanks to this, but it also means I am always stuck dealing with the danger after. I will pull myself out of a scary car situation and then about 5 minutes after the danger passes, I will be hit with all those nervous feelings I didn't feel in the moment, and I do not get the "truck driving away" moment because the truck is long gone.
