Veronica , I received an OFP from my X wife on the 21st of February.
She falsely accused me of all sorts of things including sexually molesting my 5 year old daughter and physically abusing her.
What in the heck is going on with these women?!
Since then, I have seen a lot of your videos and others.
It seems as though these women that cheat on their husbands, then remarry, just can't get on with their lives without trying to wreck the man's life first.
Why do you think this is happening Veronica???
It's been 42 days since I've seen my daughter and there are 33 days left to go.
It's so painful and uncalled for.

That is awful; I’m sorry to hear that you are in this position, especially with allegation of sexually abusing your daughter.
There are way too many incentives, at least in California, for people to file requests for restraining orders. And, I’m sorry to say, but family law attorneys obviously suggest them to their clients as a way of getting ahead financially. There is very little for petitioners to lose if they lose DVROs. And with “metoo” and “believe all women,” women feel empowered to claim abuse and expect to be believed, even if it’s a lie. There’s a lot of support out there for any woman claiming to be a victim of domestic abuse, whether it’s true or not.
Keep fighting. Make sure you are prepared for your hearing and that, if the judge continues it, you ask for an interim custody order so that you can at least see your daughter (even if it’s supervised visitation based on the severity of the allegations).

@@veronicatbartonesq thank you, it touches my heart that you answered me.
The whole thing is like being stabbed over and over.
I'm down, let me go please!
      Men have hearts too.
Just like you say, " so they can go on with their lives and enjoy their freedom."
      Love from Minnesota!
I'll keep watching until the hearing on May 10th.

I had video proof that I was innocent in a false DVRO claim. My attorney convinced me to take a settlement. Now I see my kids for six hours a week paid supervised visitation after having them with me on my own for 70% of the time before with no issues. It’s all a scam and doesn’t protect the children.
My poor kids beg to say with me every time. It’s heartbreaking

Thanks. I was arrested for trespass at a storage facility I have rented from for over 2 years. Girl called 911, told them I'm a Tennant, she was told by her supervisor to lock me out of the office and call 911. Supervisor collected videos, sent to sheriff, am missing some. This case has run for 20 months, now prosecution is amending the case, saying three deputies (were involved in knocking me, a 69 yr old diabetic, to the asphalt driveway at the front door). AM NOT ASKING ADVICE, BUT IS THIS ANYWAR NORMAL? I MEAN IT IS FLORIDA.

Veronica, can you make a video for the victims preparing for a hearing when they don’t have an attorney but the respondent does? I’ve seen it for the respondent but not for the petitioner. Also would a lawyer determine an outcome. My allegations of abuse are true. I have text, and voice recordings of him admitting it. How could his attorney spin this with evidence? My court date for my hearing is in 5 days. Im nervous but not scared

I made this video of my best tips in less than 1 minute in response to your comment: czcams.com/users/shortszdaQqAc74qw?si=POyJwPWeK-Au2G4o (This applies to both petitioners and respondents.) One final tip that I can offer for petitioners is re-read exactly what is in your request for a restraining order, and make sure that you stay consistent. Best of luck with your hearing!!

Do you have a video that touches on if the criminal case has not been filed yet, but your ex partner has a temporary restraining order, but you’ve been advised not to testify as it could influence the possible pending criminal trial? Does that basically mean that the restraining order has to be allowed because if not, you’d be forced to testify against yourself before the criminal trial? if the criminal case is dismissed, does that mean that the restraining order can also be dismissed? Could you use the fact that the case was dismissed in a criminal trial as support for why the restraining order on the civil case should be dismissed? Not sure if you have videos that talk about the crossing over between stable and criminal When it comes to DV. Obviously, I know you can’t give advice, but these are questions that I am going to be asking my lawyer and just wondering if you had any videos touching on anything like this. Your videos have been so helpful and reassuring during this difficult time. Thank you!

Brilliant idea. This video is in the works! There isn’t a cookie cutter answer here, but this is an issue that my clients confront constantly. It can be especially difficult when you have two different lawyers for your cases and receive conflicting information.
