This was exactly what I needed, solved my problem! 2D sonar was blank and was showing 1,000+ feet for depth. I needed to select the right source and that's all it took.
I also fixed my GPS source to the trolling motor thanks to these videos. Great series and underrated channel.
Excellent video John. Thanks for sharing this information with us. Keep’em coming !!!
Thank you Danny! I have been enjoying your videos as well!
Great stuff. I already stumbled through all this on my own but woulda saved me a ton of time and stress if I saw your stuff first. Also very useful as an ongoing reference. Thanks
Thanks for the feedback! I'll be posting more Humminbird videos soon!
God bless you sir - just saved the day!!!!!!
Glad it helped!
Awesome video 👍
Thank you!!!
Hey there. I have a brand new 10 that won’t read depth. Transducer is “clicking” I can hear it. Unit read depth for the first hour I had it out, now I can get any depth readying on the screen. Thank for any help!
Call me Monday- Friday 9-5pm CST at 316-313-4113 ext 407. I bet we can get you fixed up if you have the unit powered up in front of you when you call.
Excellent information. I run 3 humminbird units with Mega 360. When I picked up the boat mega 360 was the only transducer working at my console. I could not see the 2d sonar.
Thank you for the feedback! Appreciate ya!
I hate when I’m ice fishing with my g4n helix 9 and using the new ice transducer and when I hole hop, it will say I’m in 150’ of water when I’m really in 2’. Sucks. Have to take it in and out of water several times or power down and back up to get it to work.
Do you have any other transducers that work with the unit? I would try plugging that ducer into another unit to see if you get the same results...if you have one handy. Maybe even if you have a buddy with one.
I took my boat out for the first time this season and no depth/sonar features on my front Helix using the sonar on the Terrova. I tried restoring defaults and checking the proper soma was selected. I will try your third suggestion tomorrow. I have never done a software update…is there any way a software update would even be related? Thanks for the concise video. (And repeating the steps again after each explanation). Great video!
Thank you! I highly doubt it has anything to do with a software update but I've seen problems go away after an update. What transducer do you have selected under your sonar tab?
My Helix 7 chirp mega signs g3 won’t go into normal mode, only simulator. It reboots after pressing right arrow. Do I need an SS card inserted? Passes status check with transducer connected. Thanks!
I would reach out to Humminbird and see if they can take a look at it. There's probably something that needs replaced internally. Double check and make sure you have good power but other than that there's really no troubleshooting for those symptoms
@@BehindTheReelFishing thanks again.
I have 3 helix 10 all networked. I did all 3 of these and still don't get si di or 2d to read on 2 of the 3 units. I can see they are networked and I'm selecting my unit 1 which does show all imaging as where to get the data from.
could be a bad cable or port on the 5 port switch...
Any idea why my GN4 Helix is showing depth of 1,000 ft? Never happened before?
My guess is that it's not reading your transducer correctly. Go through these steps and that will likely solve your problem. Also I've seen some depth readings like this when fishing super shallow but usually it will correct itself when you get back out to 2-3ft
Not sure what’s going on with my Helix GN4. I tried these steps and never had this issue. It’s bouncing from 700Ft to 1200ft.
My sonar wasn’t working and what ended up being the issue is it was turned off. I needed to press the power button once, and the very first option is switch sonar on/off. I have no idea how it got turned off in the first place 🤷🏻♂️
I have seen that before. Had a guy call in the other day with the same thing
John I need help what is you availability I am Un able to get any feed back on my mega live
316-313-4113 ext 407. Call me on Monday
So if I'm not connected to the correct transducer would my mega 360 read unconnected?
Yes it could
@BehindTheReelFishing yes I think that was my problem, after stripping all the wire a checking for power supply, know kinda. That wasn't the problem 🙄 I realized after I connected to the correct sonar in my settings!, that it reconnected!! all that work for nothing. :(
@@craigcoble glad you got it figured out!
@BehindTheReelFishing Thank buddy, yeah doing all that isn't as flat out cut and dry like some people think is! They just see the end result ya know?
I think you forgot one major spot to check and that is if someone or computer shut down the sonar right at the power switch. Have had that happen a couple of times, not having done it myself. Aren't computers great?
Man I'm in desperate need of help. I can't find any information or help. My helix 10 and 9 does not have a network tab. Therefore....I can't get them to talk to each other to share waypoints. Everything is plugged into the box. Everything seems to be setup correctly. This is a 2 year old skeeter fxr20 all setup from the factory with nothing changed or modified.
I would check and make sure you have power to the 5 port switch. I have seen quite a few times where the 5 port was being powered by an accessory switch which was turned off. Try running the ethernet cable from one unit to the other bypassing the 5 port switch after you confirm it has power.
@@BehindTheReelFishing we are working on it right now. But how do we “test” for power? I wish the box had a light on it.
@@BehindTheReelFishing we got it figured out. The box didn't have power to it from the factory. We just ran our own wires with an inline fuse. Thank you for your help.
@TanCole Property Rehab no problem! Glad you got it figured out.
Just installed mega 360 on solix and can't figure it out. Doesn't even show 360 as a option
Is it connected directly or ran through a y cable? Make sure your power is good.
@@BehindTheReelFishing yes directly to it. I already had the graph mounted. When I put on 360 I had to replace the plug with the new 360 plug. Not sure if that's what is wrong. But there wasn't a extra port for both. Hope that makes sense
I have no network tab
The network tab will only appear when networked with another unit. If you have a standalone graph you will have to skip this step
