    Make sure all units are running the same software versions or they will not communicate with each other also make sure you have power going to the Ethernet hub, would be nice if Humminbird put a status light on the hub to show you when it’s powered on.

    • @MoneyBass
      @MoneyBass  Před 2 lety +1

      You are correct. It would be great if there was a way to verify the status of the hub by looking at it. Thanks for the tip!

    • @Mnfish22
      @Mnfish22 Před 2 lety

      I agree with the power light on the hub!! I’ve had it where there isn’t power and it’s caused lots of frustration trying to figure out why it’s not communicating. Also would be nice to have a on off switch to power cycle it. And with the software you talk about having all the same versions is kinda correct but you may not necessarily have all the same units and generations. I’ve had some of my 12s and 10s different gens and work fine. Even with having some not updated. The hub should be able to work regardless. But with newer accessories and not having the update it may cause problems but that isn’t the fault of the hub. It’s the fault of the hardware and software not compatible or doing a correct handshake

    Great vid Ryan, my boater last week had a HUMMINGBIRD HELIX 9 UNIT on the console and up front, but the issue was when he allowed me to set it up on sonar and down scan it kept going off, and when I mentioned it to him, he said he thinks it's a battery system problem, no matter how many times I set it up, when his system up front was on, the console unit kept going off, so I left it alone, and out of 225 boater's and Co-Angler's, I finished 108th with 5lbs 6oz's.

      Fishing is a mental game. I hope the power issue didn't mess with your head. The coangler side can be tough. Be sure to take the things you learned from this tournament and apply them on the next one. For me, getting a 5 fish limit is one of my top goals.

    • @MoneyBass

      The flashing occurs more in shallow water. Try installing your mask. I haven't had a big issue with the flashing. Lowering sensitivity and adjusting contrast can eliminate noise but it can also make it harder to see cover/structure/fish.

If I do however, the unit will show up in black letters instead of white letters and I cannot select it to get shared reading(s) from it. What do you think? I've rewired. I swapped out the brand new network hub, for a different (new) network hub. I have verified with a tester that the power cable going into the network hub is getting more than 12 volts. Can you do a comparison from previous mega live to the new firmware update put out march 4th 2022. It’s supposed To have improved jig tracking performance and cut out some of the flash. I purchased it yesterday but it won’t be installed until mid may. I’ve been looking at garmin. It seems to be the best overall from the reviews. My boat has humminbird 9’s at the bow and console that I’m having both placed on the bow with a 12 put at the console adding mega live and 360. Found your videos while contemplating my choice and they where very helpful. Keep the content coming you got a new subscriber.

      @MoneyBass  Před 2 lety

      Yep, that is the set up and view of the live imaging screen. The template stays the same but the information on it changes. There was no information on the screen because I wasn't using it at the moment. Keep in mind the MAJORITY of guys do not know how to use their electronics. It takes some time getting use to. It seems most people focus on getting a "clear" image instead of learning how to read the information on the screen. Check out my video from Clarks Hill. It was the first tournament I fished with live imaging. I have some good screen shots and explain what I'm seeing on the screen. Hope that helps. Thanks for supporting the channel.

    Ryan, Another excellent and highly informative video. I noticed that your Mega Live showed what I believe are interference rings possibly from your Mega 360. I recently received my Mega Live and have not installed it on my boat because it is still buried in snow. That said, last year, I noticed that my Mega 360 displayed wheel spikes (sorry being a French Canadian I do not always know the right terms to use) and I could reduce them by trying to deconflict the Mega frequency on my trolling motor connected Helix 10 3GN DI. My question is can you play with the Mega frequency of either or both the Mega Live and the Mega 360 so to minimize the interference? On a seperate matter, at the console, I have a Solix SI+ G3 and a Helix Si+ 3GN, both networked with my two Helix 10 DI 3GN at the bow, I find it extremely frustrating that I cannot see on my Solix the Mega 360 because it is connected to an Helix.

    • @MoneyBass
      @MoneyBass  Před 2 lety +1

      That's cool! A French Canadian, I guess I'm reaching a lot of people, glad to help! The Solix and Helix should network together and show the 360 if they are compatible. Contact Humminbird support to see if there is a limitation with the Solix and Helix communicating with each other or if you might just need to adjust the network source settings. In regards to the interference, I've noticed that I sometimes get interference when I'm in shallow water. I am able to read the images through the interference so it doesn't bother me to much. Have you tried using the choke that came with the Mega Live? I would try adjusting the frequency on the 360 but I wouldn't sacrifice losing the ability to see fish or structure just to have a clearer screen. Hope that helps. Thanks for supporting the channel!

That might be a good video for the future to see if you turn it on while fishing those spots in deep water will it start getting the fish to bite or bite better? • @Mnfish22
      @Mnfish22 Před 2 lety

      @@MoneyBass and bass living underwater hear so much more than that! Sound also travels 6 times farther under water, too, so the fish are getting sounds from every angle. I’m guessing that when they test the hydrowave it’s in a controlled environment to get the fishes reaction without any extraneous sounds. That’s good for a baseline. There are so many other sounds out in the water, though. But then think of it this way…(and I could be way off) that just like us that we can hone in on sounds that alert us in a noisy environment they can do the same thing but at a much higher level. I’m sure they are able to distinguish a boat motor from a feeding/swimming school of baitfish. Even our depthfinders make noise but it doesn’t seem to deter the bass from biting. So does the hydrowave not work? I dunno? But worth an experiment to see if there is a difference? I don’t see too many videos on it?? So???
