  • Introducing the MacFly Moster 185 and MacFly Atom 80, along with a full demonstration of Complete disassembly and Reassembly
    2:51 I state you can get a 5 gallon fuel tank, this is incorrect, 4.5 gallons is the biggest fuel tank you can put on this machine.

    Great demo Matt, You are my hero. Funny line "And shes pretty weak" That was funny. But how could she complain when you were pushing the product ease of use. Nothing like an easy pulling motor. You didn't even slam other guys products Like "the Captain" And "the Superman" Just having fun. Actually I like thesupermans beach videos climbing up the side of a trailer like a Batman rerun. Seriously though the netting seems a little lax but what do I know. Ease of assembly I guess. Maybe its fine. I like the Angel paramotor video showing them playing tennis with the frame and netting. I like comments about cross country flying

    This looks like a very nice unit. My only concern is the netting. Is there an upgrade available? I would be worried about an errant toggle getting through the mesh, and into the prop. Is this unfounded?

    • @minyardmatt
      @minyardmatt  Před 5 lety

      Mark Rogers it’s not a big deal, the thrust angle prevents the cage from leaning forward. We can rig you up a custom net if you prefer an old school design like a fish net. This works great & we don’t have that problem, when you fly this machine it is an upgraded design in so many ways from a regular Paramotor, I can rig you a maverick style hoop to go over this cage if you want the old style net.

    Do those frames also have shims as well on the motor mounts to also compensate for the torque twist? I'm doing a motor swap on my air conception frame and putting a vittorazzi on it and I'm looking for ideas on how to help keep it fly straight through the torque.. my swing arms are also angled but I was told you guys use shims on the motor mounts for the vittorazzi?

    • @minyardmatt
      @minyardmatt  Před 4 lety

      No we don't use shims on the motor mounts, but of you have a frame with the wrong geometry you can try that to help. Thankfully we don't need to do that with our frames..

    Matt, can you pull on the hoop and do a flex test to show how strong they would be during a forward power launch? I’d like to see flex test on the Parajet Maverick also. That would be a great video. Thanks

    • @minyardmatt
      @minyardmatt  Před 5 lety +1

      Tim Paul yeah we could do that but there isn’t much reason to do that when you know you can do a power forward inflation with both cages built of titanium the most natural thing is to fly it compared to pull on it, come visit us and you can get your hands on all the gear, I’ll do that in the next video but there is no Doug to have pulled on every frame I have in all directions to make sure the prop has plenty of clearance & I would never sell a Paramotor that has flimsy cages on it. Some people manufacture those but we make sure to steer clear from those brands because we don’t think they are safe enough to fly!

      @timpaul7907 Před 5 lety

    • @minyardmatt
      @minyardmatt  Před 5 lety

      @@timpaul7907 We can attempt to flex the Parajet & the Macfly but i can tell you now that they dont really move much, they can be moved if you pull very hard, the standard i use is if i can contact the prop on the cage with minimal force it is a fail, you can not do that with these machines, they are very strong, we also do not have any air conceptions to flex so i cant help you with that. Do you have anyone near you to go and visit? It sounds like you should visit and get your hands on each machine to be sure you like it. Feel free to visit us anytime, you are welcome to do your own test on my gear as you like. I can assure you that these are all strong in the flex test. If the frames were not strong in the flex test i would not be interested in having them in my shop & i would never have bought them. I am not a fan of flimsy cages or cheap gear & i do not think i will ever have any flimsy gear in my place.

    • @minyardmatt

    Does the titanium break rather than bend if someone were rough with it? Asking for a friend, I definitely never bash my stuff around..... :)

    • @minyardmatt
      @minyardmatt  Před 5 lety +2

      David Carroll I have seen some people bend it but never break it - just the cage ring section on the top, it really depends on the situation, I haven’t seen one break or split so I don’t know! I have seen a guy hit the bottom of it very hard a few times & it did not bend at all or damage anything which was impressive. Again it’s strong enough for teaching & butt landings without damaging it so we are loving it!

    • @vmlinuxz
      @vmlinuxz Před 5 lety

      @@minyardmatt Yea, that titanium is very very strong, but I know one major downside to titanium is that it is more brittle than stainless, but I do know that most titanium is now actually an alloy that gives more flexibility than straight titanium. That's probably the case with the tubing that these are using. I fly a flat top I bought used, and I can say that comfortable seat on the macfly looked pretty inviting, I went on a short XC the other day and my legs were pretty numb afterwards!

    • @minyardmatt
      @minyardmatt  Před 5 lety +1

      It has offset arms because it should have them in order to keep the small pilots flying straight, this is one of the advantages of this frame, its designed to be amazing for all pilots, the 80 is special for training & i can assure you we are keeping these around because the students love them & we love the great results.
