    I have a pap just like it. Not easy to get in the seat, but once in it is comfy. Take down and assembly is stupid fast. 100% no regret purchase.

      Very happy. I don't know if I would even buy something different if I did it all over again. I really want to find another one used as a spare. The only downside is getting in the seat. I usually get to a safe altitude, check that all is good with the wing, then stow the left brake and push up on the back of the seat board and I pop right in. Takes two seconds. Still love it. It is a very good design. I know 4 of my friends that have them. They are all very happy too. @@razorsharpbt124

      Wow that is really unfortunate. He is a great pilot but He doesn't have the best reputation in the industry for plenty of other very well deserved reasons, but that's the first time I have heard something like that. It's a shame because while the flat top may not be the most cutting edge tech or super/light comfy to fly, I have heard it's a good unit for a beginner because it is a tank. Once you get into the sport you are going to want two motors anyway. You will find that as good as the motors are you are going to have down time for broken stuff and wish you had a spare unit. One of my friends has a newer Macfly and loves it. Not nearly as fast to take down however. Durablity is about the same from what I have seen. If you break down the motor or think that you might Pap is the way to go for sure. @@razorsharpbt124

    Welcome to team Pap. Just upgraded from the 1400 frame to the 1500 frame with the 140 prop and couldn't be happier. Your get in the seat problem and lean back problem on landing is all in your harness adjustments. I noticed you really tightened down your shoulder straps which could have contributed to your inability to get in the seat easily. That and your leg straps looked a bit tight too. I adjust my leg straps so that my closed fist can fit between my leg and the strap. One you get your straps dialed in you will slide into the seat like butter. Enjoy the new ride!

    These paramotor videos are great for someone like me thinking about getting into flying. Thank you. Now if only someone could point me in the direction of a great video of the 80 vs 185 vittorazi. I'm 160 right now and if I had to choose today I'd pick the 80 to start with.

    Quick Release hub would be perfect to go with the fast assembly, and give more prop clearance.

    Awesome machine! I'm curious, why didn't you go with the Limitless? I picked one up to replace my Skymax Expedition so I could wing a 140 prop. I like it, but it is a bit heavy and seems to flex easily. How much does yours weigh?

    • @TrevorSteele1
      @TrevorSteele1  Před 9 měsíci

      I’ve had 3 limitless. Not my favorite but not a bad machine. I actually prefer the macfly because of the torque compensation, comfort on the ground, and weight shift authority! It’s a sweet machine!

  • @JustOutHereTinkering
    @JustOutHereTinkering Před rokem +1

    That looks like the extended tank. The normal size is even easier to get to, but I agree I would really prefer to have the extra fuel! Love my pap.
    Also I prefer to cut my throttle down. I like to use pinky and ring for throttle, pointer and middle for toggles. Much nicer for me. It is ambidextrous, rotate the strap around and the mount for the throttle is on both sides. Moving it to your left hand would take 30 seconds!
    Lastly, PPGExplorer is 100% right, loosen up the leg straps a bit and it should scoop you right up.

    Nice so far , does the airbag stay full of air, and never deflate . What do you think about the swing arms that are bolted together vs solid swing arms . And can you tell us if the swing arms are aluminum or titanium
    Keep up the great work, Trevor, you rock 👍🏽🤙🏽🪂

    I've bought a used PAP 1400 paramotor with the ROS 125 engine.
    I'm just starting out on paramotoring but find the ROS 125 very difficult, impossible, so far to pull start, it is so difficult to pull for some reason. I'm going to try and foot pull to see if that is more successful.
    I wish it was so easy to pull and start as the Vittorazi engine on your PAP paramotor in this clip. Maybe the difference is old used versus brand new!
    The PAP reserve is designed to go behind the head I believe and I still have to figure out out how it attaches the main lines, they somehow velcro into the shoulder straps.
    I also would rather have the throttle in my left hand.
    I'm looking forward to your full review.
    Thanks for posting.

    My buddy got a pap tinox, and he has the same issue with getting into the harness once getting into the air. We made a bunch of different adjustments to it trying to make it better but nothing seemed to help. I even tried flying it and also found it very difficult to slide back into the harness. He’s going to install a foot stirrup on his so he doesn’t have such a hard time. Definitely doesn’t scoop you up like the Dudek comfort harnesses do.

  • @james7705
    @james7705 Před rokem

    Same experience with the seat/harness. I flew the same harness and I always had to wiggle into the seat. My Dudek comfort scoops me up every time no wiggle needed. Maybe the way I tightened certain straps but I had the same issue, and I couldn't figure it out after flying it for a week. Let me know if you figure out the proper way to adjust it and no wiggle needed. that's the one think holding me back from this motor in the future is that harness. If they had the option of a Dudek comfort, this would be my next motor. I feel it may have something to do with that center strap or how tight the leg strap was.

    That looks pretty light. Cant you just pick it up with one arm and put it on like a shirt while standing? Im not so sure I would be able to kneel like you since Im not as young anymore. What about a trike, is there an option for that?

    • @TrevorSteele1
      @TrevorSteele1  Před rokem

      Yes there is a trike option! The best thing to do is to get into it from a stand

  • @davidyoung518
    @davidyoung518 Před rokem

    What about MacFly? It's practically a cousin to the PAP and is almost as easy to break down or put together. I think the base of the frame is better designed, and I like the torque off-set swing-arms. Also I prefer the Macfly trike over the PAP trike. And since I never need to break down my MacFly, in my opinon the win goes to MacFly vs the PAP.

    Hi, I have tinox with a 202 in it. Is it normal for the motor to learn forward and back when coming on and off the power?I am about 13st and seem to have to hang points quite far back to get the correct angle

    • @TrevorSteele1

    • @TrevorSteele1

      Flew a flat top for 10 years.
      Wouldn’t ever fly one again.
      Couldn’t pay me to fly one again.
      They suck and make flying harder in every way shape and form.
      They have a few things they do well, but overall, they are not a great paramotor.
      Oh and flat top is bankrupt and no longer being manufactured.
