    Ryan Hall is amazing and has run the half in 59 minutes and the Boston marathon in high 2:04's, I feel bad that his career hasn't been doing that great because of injury lately but hope he gets back into his 2011 shape.

    I had the pleasure to run in Flagstaff. It is the best place I have ever run in. The elevation attracts runners as well as the beautiful trails. Perfect place for those who take running seriously.

      Yeah it's strange, I'm lighter yet eat much more. He's a big guy now, maybe he was starving him self a bit. I love this video. I just gotta point out that its kinda silly to drive to the dirt for his warmup and cooldown, and then to go run 15 miles on asphalt in the old school asics flats haha. Now adays runners would just slap on their 40mm of PEBA foam and crush all the mileage on asphalt. Ryan really was at a different level, and he just barely missed the super shoe boom.

      @goodluck2522 Před 11 měsíci

    Is protein shakes better than steak or chicken?

    • @paytonsipes6721
      @paytonsipes6721 Před 9 lety +4

      No. However, it is the most convenient way to consume protein though. I am a colligate cross country/track runner and I tend to stay away from shakes or bars whenever I can. If I want protein, I try to eat natural. Go for chicken, fish, and beans. All of those are high in protein and provide essential vitamins for pre/post workouts. Since I run everyday, I always have chicken or fish for lunch and/or dinner. Also, try to avoid steaks as well as pork and beef. Although they have a lot of protein, they are very high in fat and cholesterol. Eat it only on occasion. I only consume red meat about once a week. Grilled chicken is the best bet for you. Also, it also depends on what time you can take in protein. If you know you won't be able to eat chicken or natural protein within 90 minuets after your workout, then go with a shake. Otherwise, if you have the time, go natural. But do not wait too long though. Hope this helps!

    Ryan, you are a running great, and a real warrior for God, but I have to mention that those products are all laboratory derived. The Temple of the Holy Spirit has God's wisdom and it knows the difference between food and chemicals. Muscle Milk is not organic, which means that there may be GMO's. There has been a huge increase in food sensitivities and allergies since the introduction of GMO's into the food chain. Perhaps your gut has been harmed by these chemicals, thus contributing to your food sensitivities. You are young. Keep your body clean. Continue to Glorify God!

      At that elite running level of many miles each week with some speed intensity workouts with it eating the standard heslthy meals still isn't enough protein your body needs for a good recovery.Even just 3 scoops of protein powder can equal an extra 75 grams of protein each day.I have noticed after drinking some protein powder about 90 minutes before a run I feel a good protein pump and more strength in a longer run.
      AS far as his Muscle Milk yeah it could of been a sponser.I persomslly wouldn't choose Muscle Milk Protein powder as there are more quality bands but I do like a good Vitamin store Brand which is a protein whey isolate for faster absorption .The only thing I can say is remember good running is based on 3 principles 1 stimilus/exercise, 2 nutrition/food,3 sleep rest for recovery. If just one aspect is off either over training or under training or not eating well enough or maybe just not sleeping then it effects performance .I an not a Fan of using supplements to replace a healthy diet but when your training hard it can help speed up recovery on the back end.Just use these in moderstion on big dsys.If I personally didn't have a long run schedule I would skip protein powder on the days I didn't it..As a goal for high training levels the recommended ratio was about 1 gram of protein for every 2 pounds of body weight. For instance someone who weighs about 180 lbs then try to get up to 90 gram of protein in a day which can be difficult from just besns,or meat.The small quick protein drinks help reach those goals during a difficult training cycle.So in a nut shell don't use supplements instead of natural foods but only use it in modernen to help enhance recovery and Performance 🌄
