I'm more suspicious of those who have to tell me they're a "true whatever" than I am of those who go about living their life in accordance with their beliefs. I don't have to justify my self to anyone except God and no one has the right to judge me except God.
I'm always amazed at the number of people, who claim to be "true Catholics," yet they have the audacity to sit in judgement of their fellow human beings because they disagree with them over whatever the issue may be. Personally, I think if people would spend as much time minding their own business as they do sticking their noses into others' business, and casting aspersions, we all may be better off. As for a "True Catholic," let he/she who is without sin step forward. We're all sinners and we make mistakes. Being judgmental is a prime that everyone is guilty of.

Absolutely. Our Constitution also requires no title of "honor". Many of these justices think they are God's having no balance of justice in their decisions. Law is force and cannot be used for purpose of compelling, it must be weighed in the scales of justice.

Trying to be neutral here but I think her argument hinges on a "technical" issue, I believe she is saying that since the blade was retracted and safe it wasn't in the form of a "deadly weapon" and therefore under that state's law couldn't be considered a threat.
I can see that in some cases that something that could be used as a weapon that isn't shouldn't be seen as one on the face of it but in this case I think her argument is flawed, to me this is like pointing an unloaded gun at someone, just because it's unloaded doesn't make it less threating if the person on the receiving end doesn't know it's unloaded it's still a gun, likewise just because the knife is retracted doesn't make the boxcutter less threating when you know with just a flick of your finger the blade extends.
This might be a case where she was forced by poorly written state law to make the decision she did or she could just be a moron it's hard to tell on such little information.

I'm more interested in why it wasn't perceived that a 6 year old who knows sharp objects are "dangerous" wasn't given the same chance per the law because it was implemented as a threat with a potentially dangerous weapon. That 6 year old obviously saw it as more or less traumatizing yet she's saying the law In her perspective doesn't fit the bill for being a dangerous weapon. Just odd.
