Unfortunately, when The Constitution was written life expectancy was pretty close to half of what it is today. Today someone like these nominees can do a lot of damage to our country, Biden is a case in point. I loved it when Kennedy asked that federal judge questions on article 5 and 2 and she didn't even know. Imagine working your way up in any particular field like mechanic, engineering, welding you name it and years of study and practice and then not knowing anything about it. A federal judge should know every single word of the Constitution and have it memorized.

If you ask a mechanic about what part number for on X year of Y make of Z myself they are gonna go look it up. A judge isn't going to have an encyclopedic knowledge of the entire US law. Any judge worth thier gavel is going to read up on law pertaining to the case they are going to be judging. That's why it's written down.

The judge out of the State of Washington, how she became a judge and got her law degree amazes me when she couldn't answer Kennedy's questions when he asked her about Article 2 and 5 of the Constitution, Kennedy said you are a law scholar and should know this. @@werollins I think there's too many variables for an AI to give a practical, objective verdict--ppl are judged on a case by case basis for a reason. Having AIs as judges would be the equivalent of giving everyone standard sentencing on all crimes & we don't want that.

The US Sentencing Commission provides federal sentencing guidelines in accordance with laws/legislation passed by Congress. The Commission also serves in an advisory role, but Congress determines the statutory min & max of federal crimes. Never should we remove the human element from sentencing…You’re right - there are too many variables which is why Congress only legislates a minimum or maximum sentence based on the crime. AI does not need to be responsible for or “in charge” of any human life in any way, shape or form. Although I do see that there are many who see AI as being completely impartial because of the absence of any human beliefs, biases, political affiliation, emotions, etc. Many blessings!!

I once had a classmate from Uganda who had just gained her US citizenship. She described the test she had to pass and... let's just say it would be fun if these people had to take that test.

It should be mandatory for all legislative personal attending these committee hearings surrender their cell phones, laptops anything that will distract them from the agenda at hand so their attention is on the subject that is being deliberated. What I saw was the lack of interest from delegates that felt these meetings where nothing but a inconvenience for them and not taking into account the importance of such meetings and the long-term affects it will have on ALL PEOPLE! no matter their political party they belong to. In 8th grade History class we had to stand up one at a time and recite The Preamble to The Constitution of the United States of America. That was 1980. I cannot imagine any BAR lawyer not knowing The Constitution by heart.
Hell, I had to memorize Shakespeare and Chaucer, Lord Byron, Poe. How do these people as leaders not know our Constitution by heart???
I also had to remember and recite the Preamble to The Constitution of the United States. "We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish Justice..." I could go on, but i hear my younger self speak in my mind and i dont wanna relive those days... LOL
I had to memorize the Gettysburg address. I still know it . I It was the 6th grade. Bill of rights in 8th grade.
In my 9th grade history class we had a test to write the entire Gettysburg Address word for word, and if you got ONE word wrong you failed the test (I passed lol). It's a shame that the younger generation (nowadays) are losing out on a decent education. Schooling [now] consists of politics and nothing else.
It's DISGRACEFUL that these nominees know NOTHING about Constitutional law!

LUCKY! (It's rude to brag) I graduated from Ben Davis HS in Indiana on my 18th birthday in 1994. Throughout my entire internment in Wayne Township, I cannot remember having to memorize any part of the CONSTITUTION, BILL of RIGHTS, Shakespeare or anything else. Hell, in the highest level of classes offered, for which I actually received college credits because it was basically Sr. Lit in 9th grade (and so on), in 11th grade we were handed the ABRIDGED MOBY DICK!!! Everyone in my class was top 5% (except me) and THAT'S the level of "education" we got. I had to read 1984, Brave New World, Fahrenheit 451, THE SCARLET freaking LETTER on my own. Thank God I had educated, literate and encouraging parents who demanded that I LEARN!
It's no real surprise that now, as parents, we are okay with the mutilation of our kids and shredding any sort of minimal standard baseline for education. We were groomed (to use the new version of the word) to BE and to BREED - MORONS! (I don't have children, by choice. Genetic condition.)
I am certainly glad this man is republican that I support. If the Democrats were any smarter than, him we'd really be in trouble. Thank you, senator Cruz.

As far as I know we the people are not privy to the information. We’re only told what they deem necessary. When we should have access to everything ( besides top secret information) and there should be a direct way to access it

The Democrats feel the constitution is a obstacle to over come. So appointing judges who don’t even know what’s in the constitution is perfect. Fits the plan. That pesky constitution keeps getting in the way.

Well the founding fathers originally only gave the right to vote to educated people. I think we should require a college degree or at least a high school diploma from all voters. Most of you would not qualify

The calibre of nominee has obviously taken a nose dive.....when nominees have passed history of radical rhetoric and behaviour that is so alarming it beggars belief how they are presented for these positions. Is there no ranking system ahead of these Hearings to ascertain who are the strongest qualified contenders?

My mother is Canadian, my wife Korean, both became US Citizens and know more about the US Constitution than both of my college educated children. In hindsight I wish I hadn't spent all my money of my kids "Education".
