And then you have representatives in Washington who I believe are having many strokes right in front of the camera standing in front of a microphone and they freeze up and can't say anything. That's not healthy for them and it's not good for us. And those things tend to happen more as you get older. It's not anything against older people. I love older people. In fact I get along better with older people than I do people my own age. But it's what's good for them as well as what's good for the country.

Congressman have meetings in other committees at the same time. There should be ways of avoiding this. Not all committees meet as frequently as others. The opening time for committee meetings is set ahead of time, but the closing time is set during the meeting itself. Then, sometimes they go on late into the evening or even till dawn.
So that may explain some of the absences.

It was a smart play that's either gonna work or backfire. Basically what Cruz did was he made the whole thing about Israel as that's the only issue both parties care equally most about but only the Dems have pro Palestinian base (imo even Palestinians should vote for Trump). So by making the nominee an anti Israel candidate he was painting a target on Dems for the most powerful lobby in US to notice. But Dick Durbin is the go to guy, the superstar of the Israel lobby and so there's a chance the play won't work.
In addition the entire point about selecting this candidate is Biden admin trying to buy off pro Palestinian base by selecting this judge. And If Cruz keeps painting him too much as pro Palestine the base may start to stop calling Joe, Butcher Biden. The Israel lobby don't care about drama, they know Joe will keep funding, the military industrial cmplx will keep supplying arms & both parties pander to them. But Palestinian lobby frankly isn't that bright, no-one is imo. They'd be distracted by this and feel validated. So it may backfire.

No position should be for life....not judges...not Supreme Court Judges. Judges should be judged and voted on every few years based on their performance. People change, their values change, and their performance changes over time. Sometimes those changes are more in favor of what the constitution and laws are and sometimes it is less. When a judge who is in office starts doing a lackluster or poor job, they should be voted out.
Those halls havent been hallowed in years..and the American people know it..
