Marami pong salamat for updating us on Balikbayan travel issues. I am a Pinay who his now a naturalized US citizen married to an Anerican. We visited the Philippines 5 yrs. ago and used the Balikbayan clause. There was no problem. We are planning to visit my relatives end of this year, hopefully. I really do appreciate this post. I only wish all airlines would include the Balikbayan law in their new hire orientation. It is a must. I hope this issue would not deter other Balikbayanis to visit our homeland.

I think this confusion only started shortly after the lifting of international travels when the world was still "officially" under the covid pandemic.
Some airlines have new hires, hence the lack of experience and knowledge when it comes to this matter.

thank you for a very good guidance of all the laws about balikbayans pilipino people who naturalized citizen of different countries. I wish the immigration could make all the very complicated law for old people like me who wish to stay permanent to my native land but naturalized in UK easier to understand. I'm an old 80 year old widow who wish to die in my own country when my times come. I'm still a Filipino in flesh and heart.
