Danijel Subašić, our (Croatian) goalkeeper played for Zadar in the early days of his career. His best friend Hrvoje Čustić died on the pitch after hitting his head on a concrete wall while trying to catch a ball going out of bounds. Subašić played with a t-shirt with a picture of Čustić beneath his jersey for the rest of his career. He often took of his jersey to reveal the t-shirt after games, hold his hands into the air to dedicate the win to his friend up above. Subašić never forgot Čustić. This is an unknown story outside of Croatia so I thought I'd share.

The most underrated forward in the history, he never had super seasons but his consistency showed his world class
He had three super seasons in 13/14 14/15 and 17/18
This video does a horrible job while he was at City it is acting like he did not do anything for half the seasons while he scored 20+ for five in a row with some really good goals and really good seasons.
I don't think he was underrated. His brilliance was widely recognised in the UK

Exactly. I totally agree. Titles like this are ridiculous. There will be people with real tragic life stories seeing this so to make out that this is one of them is insulting to those people. It won't make people cry either. It's a very misleading title. People who have truly suffered aren't going to feel sorry for Sergio Aguero. Anyone who does has probably had it pretty good. Aguero is a very gifted footballer who had a great career. The good massively outweighs the bad on this one, not the other way around.

The most underrated striker of all time. No one talks about him after his retirement. He was always in the top 3 strikers in the world till 2020 and everyone forgot that with his quick decline afterwards due to injuries and heart problems. He will always be one of the best strikers ever.
He is still a legend for me, But the most important he is still alive and enjoying life with family. He can still share his talent, a coach or an adviser.

Aguero is one of the most loved strikers of our generation. An icon who defined what it means to be a striker, a player whom you could depend on regardless of the situation, and most importantly: a great team mate. I don’t think you will ever hear a footballer who played with him say a bad word about Aguero. A generational talent and a pleasant character. Sergio “Kun” Agüero will be loved forever.

Also he did benefit from playing with the best team that created the most chances in the prem. When pep showed up, initially he struggled as he was in the main a poacher. He was a very good striker, but lets have some perspective her.

I was so happy when he wore otamendi's jersey and came to field after Argentina won the world cup and then he lifted Messi on his shoulder. For me he is also a world cup winner. Definitely a top 5 striker from current generation along with lewa, Suarez, zlatan and obviously CR7.

My dad is a supporter of Indepediente and I came in through the front door and my dad called me over "look at this little kid is gonna make his debut." At first glance I thought it was the ball boy. But Ruggeri had his arm around him and talking in his ear, while he was putting on the game shirt and I was like oh shit he looks like is 12 years old.

Kudos to Kun for getting the most devastating news a player still in form can get (and at the worse possible time, so close to a decisive WC run) and making the absolute best out of it. He made the smart choice or retiring for his health, found a path for himself after football (he already had started before) and instead of feeling cheated out of a world cup win he remained close with the team and was a part of the moment. Some people criticised him for celebrating like he was one of the 26 players but I think that's BS. The players clearly thought him worthy and they are the ones who get to decide whether this was also his moment or not.
i feel like in a way they won that for kun as well. they’re a close knit batch. it’s great seeing them treat aguero with such respect and love even if he’s not on the 26 man roster.

Fernando Torres was the player making me notice Atletico, and sympathise for them. Not yet full supporter, but I liked them, the jersey and their history. I was then only a Liverpool fan.
Aguero and Forlan, with Torres in memory, made me into a full blown Atletico fan, almost as much as I am a Liverpool fan. Interestingly. They are quite similar, in spirit. Always seeming to be able to find the greatest strikers before any other big teams. Torres, Aguero, Forlan, Falcao...

There is worse to come, healthy athletes all over the globe are collapsing sometimes dying. They are not the people they once were. I think we know by now what the cause is.
