ah man, i love the lighting in this map. it looks slightly volumetric and just pops to create some tremendous eyecandy. thanks for showing off all these splendiferous maps!
also try not to get addicted to drugs. or any hallucinogens.
yeah distantjetlines did a great job with the lighting in this one, especially that long hallway with the red glow from outside, really nailed the sci-fi space station vibe.
Glad you are enjoying the maps, and don't worry, i only took a small cutting to enjoy in moderation, at least until it grows bigger :D
I believe that thing is not really going supernova, but is the amazing red star, it's quite incredible
it bathed the entire station in a lovely warming red glow of impending doom :D

You definitely don't want to take any home lol, it's a very unpleasant experience by most accounts. Datura is one of the poisonous members of the nightshade family, many of which are known for causing unpleasant hallucinations and death (although many are also known for being delicious! i.e. potatoes and peppers)
that's why i only took a small cutting home ... to enjoy in moderation :D

"Cave Johnson here. Now, me and the lab boys have thought of something; What is holding us back from maximum tests? So then i decided to spend 70 million dollars on a massive Testing vessel in space. Ive decided to call it the Aperture. Universal. Reactor. Operations. Research. Ark, also known as Aurora. This behemoth is taking on the appearance of an Icebreaker, similar to Project Borealis. Hopefully this Vessel can confirm there is infact a multiverse so i can pull the biggest con game in human history."

As always, thanks for playing! I think there might be a reason we don't see a lot of portal maneuvulation maps - you're by far not the only person who struggled with it.
Btw, there is a kind of a story to the map, hidden on three computer screens (one of which you saw in the observation room in the final testchamber). People are free to look for them, but the lore is ankle deep at most.

Awesome work on this one, the detail and lighting was beautifully done and the puzzles were fun too, it had that satisfying to pull off the moves feeling to it when you finally land in the right place.
didn't realise i had missed other screens, i did see a comment here though mentioning that the date on the last screen was that of resonance cascade though :D

as for merch and stuff, i don't really know what to do about that, part of me feels the channel is really to small to do things like that, i do quite like the idea of the classic tank top and mug with my version of the aperture logo though

You don't see portal bobbing that often, maybe it's a bit less exciting than regular flinging. I like it though, even made a puzzle kind of based on it.
yeah it's not used very often, and when it is, it's usually just like a one or two bob, not like this where you have to actually "travel" by portal bobbing :)

Looks like you've improved your situational awareness when bobbing through portals. Very nice! Lovely look and feel to this chamber. Really neat to see it set out in space. My only questions is, do you know if we were supposed to stay in stasis? I didn't see any signs or notices on the subject.
distantjetlines did and awesome job with this one, really nailed that waking up alone in a sci-fi film space station, like there should be scuttling in the vents from something that mostly comes out at night ...mostly.
btw, i think i saw a post it somewhere with something about stasis, wasn't really paying attention though

in "earth" aperture facilities i assume the plant life gets its nutrients from the left over human matter, in space though? no idea :)
it is kind of appropriately aperture to use a highly hallucinogenic plant to produce oxygen for it's space station though lol

So the source engine is better than I expected!
yeah even though it's really pretty old now, people can still do some incredible things with it, it can still rival modern engines especially when the lighting is so well done.
