Yeah, I already knew that those were normal textures, but the text made it so much better!
it went over my head at the time, i didn't realised until later that i had seen those textures somewhere before :D
This map was supposed to be an entry in a cancelled mapping contest themed around the weirdcore aesthetic. connibun was the only one who finished their entry, so they would have won. Also, that text at the very end of the map sayd "congradulations"
oh cool, then yeah well done to connibun for winning! :D
i did pause the video in editing just to see what the flying text said, i though it was congratulating the player

The things people can come up with and execute in hammer is astounding, especially so knowing how clunky that tool is! Love seeing all the innovation this community is still delivering!
there's some crazy talented and creative people in the portal community, and yeah it's awesome there' still so much love for the game that they want to keep making more, even if there's better game making engines/tools now, there just seems to be something special about source and hammer.

The reason this Connibun map didn't surprise you as much as Voxel or OFF-AIR is because Voxel and OFF-AIR are actually part of a storyline. You had also correctly played through the storyline; Voxel came first, then OFF-AIR. After OFF-AIR is SHUTTER, and the conclusion is ROSES.
i have SHUTTER and ROSES in my list of maps to play.

@@ngerumathere certainly is. It’s amazing how the franchise is kept alive by the fans. To be fair a I’ve part of that is the PeTI. Which was a brilliant move of valve
This feels like if Portal 2 and Baldi's Basics made a collab
kind of, except this map alone is better made and more creative than the whole of Baldi's Basics :D
