    “Quantum Entanglement I” & “Quantum Entanglement II”
    By rendermouse
    Portal 2 Community Maps & Mods
    Two companions intrinsically one and the same, yet separate and apart from one another, each reaching out in desperate yearning for their counterpart so they may both be whole.
    (That has probably got to be the most pretentious description for one of these yet!)

    "THE CAT IS ALIVE" is also a play on "THE CAKE IS A LIE" which is why the "V" was so faint.

    1:52 - I mean, you've already experimented with the other flavor of quantumness 😏
    2:14 - New ngeruma lore unlocked: you have a Springer Spaniel dog named Jack 👀
    2:35 - My guess is that it's probably due to a magical little entity called "logic_measuremovement", check it out on the VDC ;)
    4:01 - You might be confusing it with our Schrodinger cubes, which behave VERY differently :P
    21:04 - Two cubes, one "logic_measuremovement", set it up so one cube follows the others' movement and rotation. Well actually, probably two "logic_measuremovement"s. Pretty simple stuff really, the "areas" are just visual flavor
    Great video as always! And a cool experimental map of ye olden days :)

      yeah i was having a nerd attack too lol but we must also include that quantum entanglement is; one the opposite 'Spin' and Charge of the other and not moving simultaneously, which is to be quantum-locked. entangled particles can be moved separately they just always have an opposite pitch, yaw, rotation, and charge.
      which can be manipulated and if masterd could make interglatic communication very quick as no matter how far you separate the entangles particles they are always opposite. so using magnetic fields to represent 1 and 0. changing for 0 to 1 on one end changes the other end from 1 to 0 and its simultaneous always.

    • @protoborg
      @protoborg Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@Josiah100x No. Quantum locking is when you float something above a super conductor. Quantum entanglement is the physical condition of two more particles or physical systems being in quantum states each of which may only be described by reference to the others, especially when the particles or systems are separated in space.

    • @Josiah100x
      @Josiah100x Před 3 měsíci

      @@protoborg ah.... well i am wrong about quantum locking sorry. but that has nothing to do with entanglement. to which you said nothing that i did not, just less but more edjucated word. you know as much as i do its better to simplify and give more to those whom will refuse to do further research on their own lol

      @@Josiah100xNo! This is wrong! Why do people keep spreading this totally inaccurate understanding of quantum entanglement! What you do to one side (including things like rotating) is *not* done to the other side!
      Rather, the two sides are correlated in a special way that can’t happen classically, where what combination of measurements are done on the two sides (or a combination of some other local operation and then a measurement, which is pretty much equivalent to just a different measurement, in terms of the correlations anyway), the correlations in the measurement outcomes depends on what measurement (or operation+measurement) is done on both sides, in a way that is beyond what can be done with classical correlation.
      The “No Communication theorem” shows that you cannot use quantum entanglement by itself to send signals.
      Augh!
      Also, things other than spin can be entangled. Positions can be entangled. If you have a molecule in a superposition of two locations, then the positions of the atoms which constitute that molecule, are entangled with each-other. (Because like, they are near each-other regardless of where the molecule is)

    @VesaKo Před 3 měsíci +6

    I'd guess it's just maintaining a predefined 3D separation between the cubes, rotating them the same way, and putting some walls on one to limit the space? There weren't any rotations of the spaces so that'd be the simplest solution codewise.

    about quantum entanglement, it reminds me of that time i cloned myself twice and accidentally entangled them, and when i accelerated the particles of one, they just multiplied inside eachother, creating a amalgamated mass of flesh and metal knight armor, it was creepy, and it has become a snake, which is on the loose.

    It IS the cubes that are tied together. The second puzzle works by respawning the blue cube at the same relative position after it is fizzled down that hole. The colored areas are merely an aid for the player and a visual to show how the space is oriented. It has a secondary effect of limiting where the cubes can move.
    There was no cat, stupid! It was a THOUGHT EXPERIMENT!

    2:33 You can parent entities to one-another in Hammer/Source. That would make it so that if you move one, the other moves with it.
    You can play around with a command for it as well (ent_fire SetParent )
    For example: you can parent the player to whatever you're pointing at: (ent_fire player SetParent !picker)

    • @XeZrunner
      @XeZrunner Před 3 měsíci

      I imagine the bounds are simply defined in both places, but one is with a "prop clip brush" that ignores the player, but not the cubes. Looking it up, func_clip_vphysics might be it.
      If the two cubes are in an equal state (rotation and all) within the same bounds and replicate the same movements, they shouldn't get out of sync, though they probably still can somehow (it's the Source Engine after all).

  • @Josiah100x
    @Josiah100x Před 3 měsíci

    tag cube 1 and 2 and give cube 2 code of x2 = x1, y2 = y1, and z2 = z1, and then modify the the first cubes values depending on the direction. so if you want cube 2 controlled 20meters 'up' you would do z2 = z1 + 20, assuming the code units are meters in this example.
    as for why the cubes also share directions, is in any 3d space you have x, y, z, xr, yr, and zr. the 'r' variants representing relative pitch, yaw, and rotation of an object, so the code just has both cubes equaling those values at all times. the need for a "tag" as i put it allows for multiple cube sets to be used in the same map.

    Rrrrr this is totally different from what quantum entanglement actually *is* ! Why use the term? It contributes to the false impression that people have of “when you act on one side of the entangled pair, the same/opposite thing is done to the other side”, which is totally wrong.
