I never considered getting an Apple TV but your narration is making me change my mind.
Another great feature of the Apple TV is the spatial audio on Apple Music. If you have a Sonos Arc and surround speakers, it will utilize the spatial audio tracks in Apple Music and put you in the middle of the music. Unbelievable sound.
I just picked up the 128GB Apple TV 4K today and it’s amazing….I love it..snappy as heck…and Dolby Vision..wow
Nice job. Here are two more features that I like about my Apple 4K device. The Apple search feature is the best I have found. I currently have seven streaming services for my 4-person household. Say one of us wants to watch an older movie, like To Hell or High Water. The Apple search button tells me where its playing and takes me there if I so choose. It's so much faster and comprehensive than the search built into my LGC2. The second feature I like are the massive number of video format options available. Say I want to watch DS9 on Paramount+. DS9 in 4K looks horrendous, but the Apple player has the option to stream in 720P-SDR or 420P-SDR, which makes DS9 watchable. I too love using my Airpods with my TV, and the automatic connection through the Apple 4K is so satisfying.
That was a good quick video. Good luck with your channel. I will watch again!
Thank you I didn’t have any idea that I could do all that Thank you sir !
Another great video!! 👏👏👏
I need to try the HomeKit.
I've been a Roku user for years but recently got an ATV4K 128Gb model. I'm an Android user so I got the ATV solely for its A/V abilities. The ATV runs through a Denon X3800 AVR to a Sony A95k QD-OLED TV. With the Denon HDMI output set to Auto and the ATV Match Frame Rate turned on, there are very significant audio sync problems which the Denon's sync setting can only partially solve. I did resolve the sync problem by turning Match Frame Rate off and setting the Denon's HDMI output to Game or Bypass. Those settings send a clean non-processed signal to the TV. Of course turning MFR off means that movies will not be be sent from the ATV at, for the most part, their native 24 frames per second but rather at 60 fps. Truthfully, I've watched tons of movies at both frame rates and can see no obvious differences so it's not a big deal. When I take the Denon out of the equation and run the ATV directly to the TV with Match Frame Rate on, there are no audio sync issues at all. Since I don't use E-Arc (and never will), all of devices connect via the AVR. Denons, as good as they are, have a history of not behaving well with some devices using their HDMI inputs. There are a lot of comments out there about the ATV to Denon to Sony chain and audio sync issues (which Apple has been aware of for quite some time) so maybe firmware updates (by both Denon and Apple) can finally resolve these problems but my makeshift solution works perfectly. I still have my Roku Ultra (which BTW, sends video out at 60 fps)active but I've actually come to like the ATV a bit more right now which I never thought I would.
I'm an Apple Fanboy , but for years I never found it interesting to get the Apple TV box, but I jumped in a few years back now , and it's really the device that I use the most when the TV is on . and with TV OS 17 they added a bunch of cool stuff for fitness, find my for the remote, a new control center with tons more options etc... for the value I get from it with Plex or Infuse and HomeKit , the price is cheap actually .
here to support good work , I get my Apple TV today and I like it
Another great video. I’m excited to watch your channel continue to grow!
Thanks George! You are a big inspiration for me so it means a lot!
I love the lack of advertisements. This replaced my Nvidia Shield for just that reason. Also, it’s the best interface for smaller screens, given the large icons.
Recently got a decent projector, it has the latest android but the OS is so laggy, so obviously the first accessory was an apple tv. The sharing and airplay, and the overall smooth experience is unbeatable
great video thank you!
I have a Apple TV and Sonos Arc w/surround speakers. The remote does not operate for the volume control or mute. It works fine on turning on and changing channels.
Thank you, I have old Plasma and Apple TV 1 gen, it was slow and not my favorite, but if the new one could give theatrical audio to AirPods pro2, it would be a dream come true.
it just works that simple unlike other devices
I always buy Apple and have been trying to “cut the cord”. This seems actually well priced and I will definitely purchase one. Someone pointed out that it is very slow to switch from one app to another with a smart tv, not so with Apple TV.
#1 - 1:55 - Simplicity
#2 - 3:04 - Integration
#3 - 4:15 - Audio Features
#4 - 5:52 - Gaming
#5 - 6:42 - Apple Home
4. Gaming for 4 year Olds. WHAT? REALLY?
6. Home security on my TV? LOL.
@@ToddandRaquiForrest yes
6# Controlled by Apple
Only 30 min of game time?? Not nice
Great video...keep it going!
Bought the 128gb version and I’m starting to love it, main reason that I bought it was for the thread integration plus the simple way to watch movies while using AirPods or any Bluetooth device.
Thread devices are on the way
It really is an amazing feature!
…until you start having audio sync issues, and ‘tv speakers’ that are set as default, unless you have the beloved Home Pods. You better be in the Apple eco system, otherwise you won’t be able to fix audio sync without the iPhone.😬
Great video and awesome points on Apple TV! Definitely look forward to your content!
Thanks so much!
Very helpful video. I was especially happy to see that you've paired two Homepod Minis for stereo sound. I want to try this set-up, but I was hesitant to spend the money for two Homepod "maxis".
I’m so Glad it was helpful!
We are in the same boat brother, great video. Good luck on growing to channel. Would love to collaborate someday.
I love my apple tv because that way I can utilize my sonos one’s as my tv speakers. Works very well and unfortunately isn’t possible with androidtv for example, only airplay works.
Great video brother. Very informative You have a very reassuring on camera presence. Keep up the great work
I appreciate that!
Here from the start , keep going!
Ayy , thanks bro 🙏🏻
I don't know why Apple doesn't promote the dual headset functionality a lot more. Just being able to connect our AirPods Pro at night while watching a movie is a game changer. Plus, the volume controls are independent so I can listen to the tv as loud as I want to.
Great point Hector. It’s definitely an underutilized feature. Especially considering not many other companies that I know of are incorporating this kind of connectivity in their devices!
Losing spatial audio and head tracking when using 2 AirPod Pros is the downside they don’t want to promote.
@@JackGodsey Is there an alternative that does? Is there even a sub $100 streaming box that supports dual Bluetooth headphone connections?
@@HectorDeJesus I’m not for sure about streaming boxes in general, but I know it’s pretty standard on newer LG TVs
czcams.com/video/FMwyx7bwgyQ/video.html
@@HectorDeJesus Just messing around with the $50 Chromecast TV 4K and it seems to pair 1st and 2nd Gen AirPods Pro at same time as well.
I love my Apple TV. All other devices cannot load any of my iTunes purchases. And the Apple TV can pretty much load every single app and streaming channel available. And play video games and Workouts. The next update to the operating system will include FaceTime using the iPhone as the camera. A lot to love
Nice job on the video. Subscribed!
Much appreciated!
I bought it for the air pod compatibility alone!
It’s so crispy
2nd video???? Your doing great keep going 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you!!
Hi from Denmark…good video 😊
Hey, thanks!
awesone stuff - keep it up!
Thanks a ton!
I'm an Android fanatic and use the Apple TV purely for it's frame rate matching and dual headphone functionality as parents of small kids. HUGE. Siri however is always disappointing. Does not recognize foreign words at all. Google assistant is a total champion in this regard.
The reason I bought my Apple TV is for spatial on my AirPod 2 which they are really good with movies
Is there a way to add time to the TV screen that stays on the screen regards what streams, like the iPad? I realize I can ask Siri or go to the Control Center, but I prefer seeing time in one of the corners of our TV. Thank you.
Unfortunately this isn’t a feature on Apple TV but you can control the tv button and bring up the control center
@@Delyn Thank you!
It is amazing that and. Air pods are the only apple products I buy
Good video. I have an audio question. I like that you can stream the audio to 2 different bluetooth devices but is it possible to play through a stereo and one set of headphones or earpods simultaneously?
Not that I know of. When I pull out my AirPods it stops playing through the HomePods
When people tell me that they use their TVs built in apps 😖 I so love the fluidness of Apple’s software. So seamless and natural. Please get a cheap $200-300 sound bar system. HomePods are terrible TV speakers, I’ve tried.
subscribed!
Thanks!!
Well I have never ever own an Apple TV , but iba he this questions that you did not cover in your video which is , mirror or like whatever I’m doing on my iPhone cannot shows on my TV 📺 because of the power of Apple TV ? Such maybe like airplay ?, can I be using safari for example and this be showing on my TV ?, or is it only apps like CZcams perhaps 🤔?, idk 🤷🏻♂️ like I said I never owned an Apple TV but if I can do that I just mentioned plus what you mentioned then ever better ❤️😊🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽👍🏼 I’m definitely buying one
I used Apple TV 4K to watch Netlix etc on my dumb TV, in 2020 I got the LG CX which has Netflix built in, so I haven’t used it since.
I’ll look into the Home integration, I only have the Lifx lights, no cameras.
It has a ways to come for devices outside of security but you are able to set your lighting scenes on it.
I do adjust my volume from my iPhone while the ATV is running a show/app in the background.
What TV is best to use with the box?
Hey Billy, I’d say any tv will work with this but the Apple TV 4K 2022 is capable of streaming with HDR10+
I absolutely recommend Apple Tv, believe me you wont regret it, period. best streaming device if you are an apple user
Apple TV is a 5 out of 5 Product Never have I had any issues with my 🍎 📺
GREAT VIDEO. WHAT SECURITY SYSTEM WORKS WITH THE APPLE TV?
Thanks for checking it out! Most apple home security devices work with it. Locks, Garage door openers, etc, and any security system that works with apple home will show alerts on the Apple TV. I use Aqara
Apple TV is the best👍👍👍
I'd take a Shield over ATV anyway, no issues with Plex for one even though it costs more. Unless one is all in on Apple this makes no sense.
I whished this video contained a comparison as the title suggested it (at least somehting like firetv, build in TV software, Shield,...), this is just a report from you and the title should be more like ' 5 reasons why I like the apple tv'
I've got the Apple TV and It's good ,but the power button on the remote fell off .At 150 bux that's really bad .
Yikes 😱
I have three apples tv and three NVIDIA shields and other devices
May I ask you how to fix audio latency from Apple TV+ App to my AirPods 3?
In your Apple TV Settings, under Video and Audio, near the bottom there should be a setting called Wireless Audio Sync. That should help!
@@Delyn unfortunately this doesn’t help cause it sync’s from TV speakers to iPhone. So in my experience it has no effect to AirPods.
Just found your channel. Great videos! Keep it up. One thing for me - not loving the background music. Really not necessary.
Noted!
~ So, Delhi, I have what is probably a very ignorant question. I currently have a bundle package through Comcast, that includes Wi-Fi, cable t.v., security cameras, & landline. If I were to go with Apple TV, what all would I still need to get/subscribe to?
If I’m understanding correctly, you’d need to get a Comcast app for your Apple TV to use your Comcast subscription.
What is the life of the apple tv remote as the batteries are non replaceable? will the TV be useless without the remote? Also will all features work with a monitor, specially volume control?
Apple TV remote is rechargeable via lightening cable so no battery replacement necessary
@@Delyn actully I meant to ask that li ion batteries eventually dies for any device, as we are now seeing for aipords the charge holding capacity significantly reduces after 2 yrs, in that way wanted to understand
Just got the 128gig version and it’s been good so far. But Netflix is not playing hdr on all supported titles. It shows the Dolby vision badge but when I play it some titles play in hdr while some play in sdr even if they have the Dolby vision tag. All other apps play hdr just fine. It’s o my Netflix that’s ruining my experience. Can someone help me fix it. Right now I’m watching Netflix using the built in app on the tv.
Netflix requires you to upgrade your plan for that I believe
@@Delyn I have the upgraded plan. I managed to fix it by changing input settings on my tv from standard to picture priority
I had an Apple TV 4K and in some apps it would flicker especially in HBO max I tried everything new hdmi cable , Wi-Fi, eithernet nothing worked
HBO Max had a ton of issues on the Apple TV for sure
@@Delyn I tried watching yellowjackets on Paramount and it was doing the flickering thing too . I like being able to change the chroma . But i couldn't stop seeing the flickering so I just returned it and just went back to my shield pro.
Sorry to inform you but for one to experience stereo sound one would need to receive two separate signals... one going to each individual speaker. But I would imagine with homepod minis they're actually sharing the same signal! Therefore making them two separate mono speakers. Which btw is quite different to a stereo signal.
An avid music listener.
If the program material is stereo and the HomePod mini speakers are set to stereo pair, then the output will indeed be stereo. When setting them up as a stereo pair you need to configure which is the left and which is the right speaker and there would be no need if they were dual mono. You can set them up as dual mono if you prefer. It’s easy to verify by streaming some music that has instruments panned hard left and hard right which I have done, but you can hear people walking from left to right and just generally hear stereo audio.
BTW - I was so delighted with the HomePod minis and ATV4K that I ditched my receiver, bookshelf speaker pair and a few other components that weren’t getting much use. My AV system now consists of the TV, the ATV4K connected through the eARC HDMI port, HomePod mini speakers set up as a stereo pair, BluRay player (it does triple duty by also playing DVDs and CDs) and a turntable (through a preamp and a RCA->HDMI converter) both plugged into the TV’s other HDMI ports. A serious audiophile might not approve but I’m very happy.
@@bgriffin95125 thanks for the enlightenment! Would I be correct in assuming budget AVR and budget bookshelf speakers.
@@totalplonker824 These were JBL speakers with a Yamaha AVR. If desired they would certainly get louder than the HomePod minis and it was possible to configure for 5.1 surround but I live in a condo and want to exist peacefully and cordially with my neighbors. In normal stereo mode I prefer the HomePod minis and ATV4K and the added benefit is fewer parts, no speaker wires and less complexity.
Surprised you didn't mention the most basic reason most people will get one ...
It's just a beast of an overpowered streaming box...compared to all the others (even the higher cost ones) that has even better support for things like "frame rate matching" and "dynamic range matching" on almost all apps compared to android/Google TV .. In a simple easy to use package... All that other stuff just extra..
Apple TV is definitely the best streaming device on the market
How are you getting HomeKit notifications on your Apple TV? I’ve been trying for days and haven’t been able to do it.
It sends notifications for HomeKit security devices such as locks, alarm systems, and garage doors. Also you can set up the camera notifications with HomeKit secure video cameras and doorbells
@@Delyn I wish somebody would tell me how to do this, because I’ve had my Apple TV for two years, and I’ve never managed to get this to work. My cameras will show up on the Apple TV, but notifications from HomeKit: never.
@@miked.7882 under your Apple TV settings, go to airplay and HomeKit > secure accessories > if you have security devices you can toggle on or off notifications under each one
So this only applies to “security devices”? I’m guessing that doesn’t include door open contacts?
Subbed
Thanks!
I have both, Roku and Apple TV.
I use my Roku every day. I honestly can't recall when was the last time I used my Apple TV.
The number ONE reason why I dislike using my Apple TV is the remote. For a company that prides itself on ease of use and user interfaces, the Apple TV remote has got to be Apple's biggest failure. Blink and you lose it between the seat cushions.
The new update should fix that issue with the new find my remote feature coming in TVOS 17!
@@Delyn Apple is tone deaf on this. What they need is a new, full size remote.
@@pylex111 No, what YOU need is a coffee table or side table for your couch. Most remotes are gonna get sucked into the cushions if you just leave them there.
@brandongonzales3785 Thanks for your input
I have an Apple TV 4K 2023 but barely use it. Instead I use my trusty Android TV box for 2 main reasons: its KODI support for personal media watching and also more updated CZcams app, which the Apple TV's version is stuck from 2 years ago without preview mode and the ability to see the title of the video while the video playing. Until those 2 important everyday use features are available, Apple TV is still way behind Android. Lastly, Apple TV does not support the use of VPN to watch other countries' content. This is another major shortcoming.
I agree, CZcams could afford to update their Apple TV app.
VPN Support is coming!
@@KopfdesRiesen it's highly unlikely Apple will make an app but just depending on other 3rd party vendors to support it.
You mean "apple TV 2022" there is no 2023 version... Interestingly enough there will be a 2024 version soon...
You got ‘Audio Features’ as #3 but you also have ‘Gaming’ as #3 also but it’s suppose to be #4. Just a heads up
I am still hesitant, the only thing that would tip the scales would be if I could add my Surfshark VPN to an AppleTV device which would get me to be able to watch my French TV right from Apple TV instead of having to cast it (badly) from iPhone to TV
that would free my iPhone from heating up as well
I’m not sure the exact details but the new software update scheduled for the fall is supposed to have VPN Support! Might be just what you’re looking for!
@@Delyn If they support VPN (Surfshark to be exact) I'd dlGood morning Ladiesy buy it, just for pure convenience. that's the only thing I miss from my Samsung TV
Nvidia Shield is a great streaming device
I use AirPod 3 with my LG TV when kid is sleeping, that can’t be reason to buy.
All other options too have mobile app to access.
I moved from Nvidia Shield TV Pro to Apple TV 4K and it's like going from a hard disk drive to an SSD.
Should I get the Apple TV?
I don’t have a TV tho
Then I would say probably not
my remote cannot stay connected. otherwise the picture and sound quality is very good.
How do you get rid of the error message not found.
I’m sorry Doris, I’m not sure what error message you’re seeing.
@@Delyn I’m not at home right now.
But I’ll get the error message to you
In my opinion, the Nvidia Shield is the best streaming box by a mile.
I have only heard of it recently but will definitely need to check it out! As an Apple user, the Apple TV just has more functionality and integration with my other devices.
@Delyn yeah, as a apple user, you will see much better integration. But overall, you can do much more with the shield due to the openess.
Shield tv pro all the way plus Apple TV is to restricted.
Why Apple watch still has no Front Camera for Facetime?
Would likely hike the price up much more but you can get a band with a camera on it! Check out the Wristcam
After using the 2015 Shield for years i Was buying the appletv 2022 and i think it was a waste of money.. At least i am disappointed at least for the CZcams experience you get... Many 4k streams only streamt in 720p (i think this is down to a codec issue Apple not willing to support Google codec)... Then it always decodes the Audio and sends IT as pcm to the AVR which is nonsense for those with sophisticated home Cinema Set ups Who want their AVRs do the work and get the codec in use to be shown.
Power button is really awesome?? 😂😂😂
LOL
IYKYK...
Apple movies seem to be less expensive than Google in some cases.
I love apple but I don’t see the point of an Apple TV. But my TVs come with smart apps and so do my video game systems. So I really don’t see the need for this for me anyways
"Getting that audio strain off your TV (speakers) will make it last longer." Really, how so?
"Getting the strain off your tv's speakers makes the tv last a lot longer"?
If you have large room. A lot of tv speakers aren’t going to last more than a few years with quality
They just fitted a power button on the remote,,,Wow that's smart,,? rave on tech
I have to disagree. I was not a fan at all. I gave it away and just stuck my Roku. My samsung tv lets me use wireless headphones and I have a great surround system set up. It was not worth it, but I can see why people with an apple ecosystem really like it. I guess it depends on what you have set up.
If you want to overpay for a streaming device. I have them all, including the Apple TV 64gb. Only needed to get optimum tv. Works well as a streamer for my Prime Video, Vudu, etc. Games?? I have a PlayStation 4 & 5. The other streaming devices do what I want them to do. Stream! At a reasonable price too.
No audio passthrough, no deal.
I’m hating the Apple tv right now!😡 Just bought one about three weeks ago, but already got issues with audio sync and erratic volume increments that jump from 1 to 11 then 18… and “TV Speakers” being the default audio output… My Home Theatre has now been demoted to “Temporary” audio output with no way of setting my AV Receiver as default (unless of course you have a Home Pod… which I hate! And will never buy!😡) 🤷🏻♂️ And with Audio Sync only possible with the use of an iPhone, Android users are pretty much scr*wed! Have disconnected the crap out and went back to my trusted Toslink. PS: Yes, my Apple tv has been updated.
I didnt see any USB ports ??
🤨
How big is your TV?
I have a 65” in the Living room, 50 in the office, 43 upstairs
Apple TV needs to be more diligent about telling you where you can stream a certain show if it’s not on Apple’s platform.
Agree!
Gee whiz, you got it all twisted. The Nvidia Shield Pro spanked the Apple TV like it was a stepchild.
Yep, I'll never use another streaming device or tv os again
🤙🏻
My only problem with my Apple TV is it the CZcams app doesn't work on it.
It should work if you have it from the app store
The lip sync is so dam
Bad. Have it connected to my Sonos playbar and the sounds is not synchronized.
Dam thing keep buffering while hard wired. Works better while on wifi .
This paper weight has more bugs than a jungle . Gonna send it back to Apple
I’m having the same issues with audio sync and ‘tv speakers’ set as default unless you stream via a Home Pod/s. You can ostensibly fix audio sync but you’d need an iPhone to do that. I’ve just ripped mine from the wall socket, tossed it to the side and went back to my Toslink… works much better! Am contemplating taking it back to Apple.
You forgot to mention the Nvidia Shield TV
Doesn't Apple charge a monthly fee if so that would be the number 1 reason not to buy it
No, Apple charges a monthly fee for their streaming network Apple TV+, similar to Netflix, however the Apple TV is just a streaming device.
except a $30 firestick does what 95% of users need. The search function works just as good as APPLE TV.
128 gigs and an Apple TV would only be useful if I could store files on it. Not sure why anybody would get an Apple TV with 128 gigs.
