@@carby6831 tldr, he is from a small country in the desert called icathia, it got invaded by shurima, Jax is the best warrior from icathia.
Icathia is losing, some dumb mage there decided to call the void (yep, that void), destruction ensues, Jax is one of the only few survivor (along with zilean), while zil uses his followers and time magic to find ways for reverse the destruction, Jax roams around the Runeterra, finding strong warriors and challenging, hoping there are strong enough to stand alongside him and help him reclaim his home.

They've depicted his scaling so well with the bonus stats he gains each round, just wish he had a bit less one dimensional gameplay, both in the card itself and in the deckbuilding aspect. He looks like he could be fun at first but then turn mundane very quickly, kinda like Deep.
I like these cards, but honestly, jax himself looks like something that will rarely be played just because the weaponmasters are better as support cards in other decks, rather than being the main focus of a jax deck.

It's a shame that besides Jhin, all other runaterra origins are so one dimensional
What scaling? He loses the stats he gains reach round, honestly seems pretty weak. Love the visuals and lore, but the card is pretty bland. Another strike for X and buff for Y, even Tristana had more flavor. They could have done so much more with him, like equip multiple weapons or give me all equipped bonuses on attack or double the effects of my equipment...
At lv 2, he should also create fleeting “catch” when attack. (Maybe that’s too much value for a 2 cost card, idk..)
Because he’s so good with weapons, he should be able to answer all kind of combat tricks.
Beautiful rendition of Jax, really wish he had the same done in PC League too, together with an astounding VGU.

@@AppleBaron i think all they can do for jax is visual update for default jax and i doubt they will do that in the near future.
As he's kit is quite good, he would rather need an ASU, like ahri or Caitlyn, to make him like more modern

@@carby6831 He's always been a cheerful character, like the unbeatable warrior type with a heart of gold. Even in his old lore where he just picks up a lamp to give himself a handicap to make fighting fun, he still didn't come off as edgy (like Zed or Kayne lol).

We saw ornn copium and theorized he'll be the last shown since there are so much days left before launch.

Never played much of Jax and Yi but seeing their glow-up warms my heart, I love even more that it changed so little and every change feels so organic.

I got really jaxed up.
So epic I started jaxing myself so hard I entered evasion a defensive stance, for 2 seconds, causing all non-turret basic attacks against me to be dodged. After that I proceeded to jax someone up and gained 3.5% − 11% (based on level) bonus attack speed for 2.5 seconds. I jaxed 8 basic attacks, i stacked up 8 times for a maximum of 28% − 88% (based on level) bonus attack speed.
I just jumped on enemy while screaming " jaxin time"

I love how the featured enemy here is Fiora, referencing the Fiora vs Jax animation done flawlessly by dojo 6 years ago. And so it shows how Riot knows their community and is deeply connected with them.
It's a reference to Jax and Fiora short story where they've met on a bridge.

I’m glad Jax’s lore hunt for the strongest warriors have finally paid off. Also we are getting closer to a good event, I can feel it
the only thing I would change is Kayn for Aatrox, because having Rhaast as the first Darkin in LoR just doesn't feel right or fair for the OG Darkin

Well, many people have the feeling that he is a Sand troll mutated by the void corruption, so it kinda makes sense for him to have such a long lifespan.

This is the champ I've been waiting for since the beginning. Seeing how much work and detail went into this design actually gave me chills I'm in love with it. I'll admit the gameplay mechanic could have been more, doesn't look like the late game monster that jax is known for being but I can still appreciate this card for the sheer awesomeness that is jaxs visual update, if this doesn't come to league as well I will be very disappointed!
Jax is my favourite champ. I'm glad we finally got a modernized version. That is of the reasons why I love LoR

He looks really good, but this is another origin which is super limited in what we put in. I don’t know how many more weaponmasters could be shown before the release but this has the potential to act like Deep and get an additional card every other patch. It just makes the deck feel samey all the time cause they are so limited in their options.
Pretty sure that is the point of origins. More specialized characters.
There are a lot of cards, that work around equipment, but not weaponmasters. So that would add variety to Jax's decks.

Deep and lurk are other category of pre-built deck. Jax is Runeterra champion, therefore he is limited, but not as limited as Deep is. You can still combine his origin with any other region and unlike Evelynn his strategy has a lot of synergy points in multiple regions.
They must have designed these cards in advance. They must have learned by now that the community does not like such origin designs. We probably won't see similar designs in future Runeterra champions.
Does this imply there's like a fisherman fight club in Runeterra? Cause that's what I'm getting from this.

As cool as Jax looks, I can’t help but feel he got shoehorned into a new mechanic. Don’t get me wrong, he’s unique and looks cool, but I worry that the Equipment idea came first, then Jax had to be worked into it even if it resulted in one note gameplay.
I’m still gonna try him, I just hope there’s more than one deck he can be built in.
im hoping they’ll do a card expansion that expands on every one of these runeterra archetypes to give them more variety bc if they just leave them all so restrictive when the whole point of runeterra champs was to have more freedom that’d be sad and cringe.

Maybe I'm missing something but he feels like Evelynn again in the sense that there's no origin passive and it's another way of distributing keywords to allies. At least this way isn't completely random?
Instead of Keyword soups like Eve, Jax is more like if Attach was more wide and aggressive

Not actually, because icathia still have people that stuck in the tower that zilean build and stop time, so if they can defeat the void, reclaim the land and undo the time-magic then they can rebuild icathia. But "the last light" sound cooler tho.

i like the constant release of new content in the game and all but i have one issue
i've noticed that almost all the new released champs have the new "origin" passive with them ,and also it is a cool concept it almost defeats the purpose of building regions and collecting different cards that works amazing with each other
especially when u give them their cards that work really well together for no drawback nor regional limits
it really just feel more like taking away from the fun of building a unique deck
It's ok laa, maybe they want to prevent by balancing the game like thus
Right but wrong, yes they lock you with the ten same cards, but are you not going to play the ten same card while playing shadow isles ?
It keeps Runeterra champs from locking all their support in one region. Thus, if a Runeterra champ has really good cards in their package, they’re spread out over a bunch of regions that also get access to them instead of one region that gets all of them (this was the problem with the support division Ekko/Zilean, for example).
@@lekiwiman76 maybe, if all 10 were good. Not saying these are or arent. But you would get a lot more cards to build a deck witch 2 whole regions or 10 cards and one region without any intresting passive effect like jhin or kayn(and bards auto chimes turn 3 forwards.).

I loved the character and the flavour of Improvise and the Weapon Masters. I only missed something else for his origin, but we can't have everything. Loved his music and the video.
Yep, we need more Jhin payoffs from the Origins. Not only the versatility, but the actual traps stuff
I think we gave Origin effects too much credit (I blame high expectations on Jhin's). Essentially Runeterran champs are the final final 'region' that spreads out tools and flavor among all the other regions. It can be used to mix cards with similar traits from all the regions, but thst isn't the point
I know they could of made jax cool and let him have any equipment card but instead we get this underwhelming mess that only really works with fated or ornn maybe when we see him in a few days I guess
