We already have seen him (his classic version)
Indeed, we might have seen him without it in the lore pages but seeing him like this ingame just feels nice
his lv1 art is helmet-less though
If you read the short story Homecoming, you'll also see him there without helmet and it's in Universe for like a year or two now, It's a good read too.

Really like the illustrations for these cards. Calm yet brilliant colors, elegant, and Yi's followers have a weird/curious vibe befitting some of the older ionian content we'd receive. Very nice.

One of the many things I love in this game, is how Riot can take an old champion, and modernize then so well. Champs like Zilean and Yi are so old and outdated in League, despite being so cool characters in lore, so it is amazing to see how much fresh life Riot is able to breath into champs in this game. Props to devs
To be fair, Yi at least had a model update, and has much better animations than someone like Zilean, obviously not as good as any of the new models we get, but could be worse

I wish they did focus on updating old champs instead of making forgetable champs that no one will play after a few months

I waited so long for this day. His re-design is so cool and they put a lot of effort on his animations to match his gameplay in league, i also love the Summoners Rift music they used for this one, they couldn't pick a better one that suits one of the original icons of league of legends.
Funny thing that in LoR unlike LoL, Yi requires some thinking because of the flow mechanic

I saw his text and immediately freaked out, then calmed down once he was the only one to get the buff. Great design!

Seeing this trailer somehow made me emotional. Played lol since 2009 and Yi back then is a laughing stock being called a Splinter Cell Samurai because of his helmet. Now, he have a proper lore and these new artworks are truly remarkable. Master Yi truly grown throughout the years

Really wish they'd re-do the earlier champs level up animations to match the brilliance of the newer champs.
I would love an animayion of nautilus rising from the oceans and smashing a boat to level up. Or him just draging a boat down to the deep.
The new level animations are great, but honestly all my favorite level ups are the old ones. I love how they are more thematic of the character instead of a quick movie reel. Feels more creative and special to me.

God I love this redesign for Yi. I thought it was impossible for Riot to redesign certain champs from the game to make them fit with the modern aesthetics and yet here they surprise me again. Just goes to show what they can do when they actually try. Too bad I won't see this design in base League because it always takes 2 millenia.

Master yi could have and an insane rework.Both in game and lorewise.He has everything he needs,a calm and collected spirit and blade master.He is one of the most iconic champs and he deserves it.Also love how he comes out of the spirit realm in the start of his animation

I think we can be expecting the Vastaya soon. Off the sole fact that Wukong, Xayah, Rakan, and Sett are all Ionian champions and in the illustration from Vastaya Disciple, it mention Yi and Wukong.

Can't wait for Warwick to be released as well !! This expansion is only bringing champs I play as a main jungler to LoR and this is GREAT !
So from what I see here Yi and Lee seems like the best pairing for each other, Lee works really well with spells and the flow mechanic can level him up fairly quickly. Flow also synergises well with almost all of Lee's followers (other than horns of the dragon) which is cool. In terms of which region to combine them with I actually think Noxus has the biggest potential with both of them since it has tools to give both champions more attack and overwhelm (the new equipment and Might). So overall seems like a very cool champion.
Wait yi and the dragonling card feels very broken I mean the attack buff is the same cost as spawning one so you could heal alot of health easily
My current though is Yi with freljord since you need to keep yi alive for an eventual kill and they have lost of cheap combat tricks to also stack flow
With Yi's huge attack, supercharge and possibly triple deny, I'm scared of Yi + Lee pairing with Shurima ;-;
They could also benefit from that new 1 cost shuriman cultist everyone is hyped about... oh boy
Yi Noxus and Yi Demacia will be strongest IMO for Rallies and strikes to level early.

I was so apprehensive about Yi joining the cast because of how ridiculous and old his League design is but just like Annie, the amazing people behind this game pulled off something truly incredible with the touch-ups that still keep the Master Yi style but with some actual style this time ❤️

Also I love that Master Yi's schtick isn't a whole new gimmick, just making use of a preexisting combo style and the new equipments, and that he isn't bound to his set like Eve, Kayn, Gwen.
Kaisa isn't bound to anything. She is the probably the most unbound champ in LoR right now. She fits into any deck with lots of keywords. You don't need any other evolve followers to set her up.
Eye of the dragon and the others are 2 spells in one turn, while flow is 2 spells OR abilities in 1 turn
