I love this video! I'm a beginner to wood burning. You're work is beautiful! I love the feathers with or without color, for me as an artist, color is a must, so the colored feathers would be my favorite of the two. Please keep your videos coming! 🥰
Awesome work, first time seeing added colour to wood burning
Thanks! :)
They turned out beautifully! I do like color on woodburnings as long as it doesn't take away from the actual burning and enhances it. IMO the color enhances the feathers.

I absolutely love this project. The combination of the wood burning and the color take the piece to the next level.
Thank you! :)
Just beautiful! Thanks for an excellent demo!
Thank you!
Love the color. Unless decor needed is going for more wood look only. I love adding the color to the burning.
You have …..talent and a loot a lot of creativity…Amazing skills …thank You ………about your colors hummm you have the tendency paint serious colors …look at the birds how they got colors and then your job will be incredible natural and gorgeous and amazing …..the bottom line. Explode your skills …are great ….saludos desde jalisco mexico
I like to decorate wooden boxes, so much of my work consists of designs, borders, etc rather than detailed pictures. I often employ a "heavy-handed" technique that gives a more 3D presentation, and I almost always add some color. I particularly like to use enamel colors on the unburnt areas, and stains are interesting because they take differently on various types of burns. Your work showed me that I could be adding color to intricate pieces and not losing the burned details. Thanks a lot, very nice work!
Awesome! :)
I’m glad you found the videos useful
Until recently I have not ever added color to my wood burnings. I decided to add color recently and I didn't like the way it came out. I went in search of what I did wrong and what I should be using to add a little color to my wood burnings. Your video gave me a little perspective. Thank you.
I just got a wood burning kit for Christmas and have spent over an hour watching just random wood burning videos to get tips... thank you for your video I like both of your feather art pieces before and after colour but I think the colour one is amazing! Great work and thanks for some inspiration I can't wait to dive in and start creating things!
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed my video. Good luck with your new wood burning kit :)
I love both!
Thank you! :)
Love both Plain & Color. At least for now. Thanks for sharing
Thanks!
I love what you did with the colour
Thank you! :)
I love color. Thankyou.
Thank you! :) glad you liked the video
Both are beautiful
Thank you!
Looks amazing
Very beautiful. I’ve used acrylic paint, ink from pens nmarkers, colored pencils and crayons are my favorite because of the blending effects. I’m about to do a Jewry box top of a drawing I did over 30 years ago. I love mixing the bold contrast of the wood burning with a slash of color to make it pop.
Try stained glass paint. Super kool on wood
I like the plain burn and the water colors. But you were probably going for a different look than I was thinking. 😊 You do beautiful work
Thank you 😊
Love Both.
I am stoked! That looks great, I am about to begin working on pyrography. I know I have a long way to go, just got a beginner set with the soldering iron style, but I really really like the watercolor and pencil additions that'll make the design really pop.
Thanks for sharing. I appreciate that you showed some burning at normal speed. I like both colored and natural.
Thank you! :)
I’m glad you liked the video
Fabulous work!
Thanks! 😊
Oh I loved it, its beautiful. I like both of them, the only Woodburn and with colors. Love to watch more.
Thank you :) I’m glad you like it
@@WildwoodStudio I'm glad you replied
Love both hard to pick but the color just wins
Thanks! :)
I like them both ❤
Thanks! :)
I like both. But I appreciate the shading work with the burner more than the pencils and paint.
I LOVED THE WATERCOLORS THAT YOU USED, I JST START O LEARN AND I DON'T HAVE TOO MUCH CONFIDENCE ON DOING IT, BUT YOUR WORK S SO BEAUTIFIL,TANKS
Thank you :)
The colors are great. I use them on my pictures that I do.

Georgia USA..👍
I like the color! 🙂
Thanks! :)
Your work is beautiful and you're very talented. And your paints are available I took a picture a snapshot from the video and ran it through Google lens and it gave me a whole bunch of options including Amazon
Thanks! :)
I tried Googling it and didn’t find anything. Was it this burning specifically?
I love it it so cool I wood burning to but never tried Colour but I’m going to try it awsome work
Thanks :)
Both are gorgeous in their own rite.
Thank you :)
They both are just beautiful ❤❤❤
Awesome.
Thanks!
I love both; with and without colors❤️
Thank you! :)
You are awesome!!!!! Thank you getting back with me so soon and it does help once again I love your work🤗
Thanks 😊 I’m glad I could help
I am torn, I like the color but I see what you meant about the color taking away from your burning the shading. You are very skilled and your video has helped me out a lot. I am new to trying woodburning. I had tried it years ago but gave up too soon and am giving it another go.
Thank you :) I hope you enjoy it more this time around
Beautiful! I love it both with and without color - but I think the color adds another dimension and takes it a step further.
Thank you 😊
I love the color.
I love them both ways, but I'm really excited about the coloring. I'm just waiting for my wood burning tool to come in the mail. I can't wait to get practicing. One day I hope to be talented as you at wood burning but for now it's something I want to do just for fun. Thanks for the vid.
Thank you, that’s very kind of you to say, and I’m glad you’re enjoying my videos :) are you a member of the pyrography Facebook page? They’re a great community for learning and sharing your art :)
I like bith, honestly, I don't color burnings because they look so great without it and the coloring covers it up so much, it almost seems like you should just draw it instead. Looks great though! :)
Thanks :)
I always felt that way too. I don't want my burnings to just become paintings because I think that defeats the purpose, So I try to make sure you can still see the burning under the colour, but sometimes I don't succeed :) Colouring a burning is always a risk cause you could make it worse rather than better lol
I have been drawing for most of my life and just got into wood burning a couple days ago and absolutely love it and one of the reasons is the natural color of the wood and the burn. Maybe I can stain and finish in the end but the main reason why I love it is the natural color.
That’s awesome. Yeah I like the natural look too. And you can to totally use wood stain, I really want to try that
Color is great .
Both are beautiful. Thanks for sharing this video.
Thank you for the short very informative video, I like your time lapse technique for showing blending and color shading.
Thank you 😊 I’m glad you enjoyed the video
I love the addition of color in your burns! I am thinking about adding color to mine, but I haven’t taken the plunge yet! 💜
Thank you! :) I used to not want to add colour to my pyrography, because I didn’t want to cover the burning, but I have been doing it more and more lately and it’s been fun. So I think it was worth the risk :)
I love both, its beautiful.
Love both of them!!!
I like them both I am a artist But I've been looking for something new And this struck beautiful fantastic illustration
Wow. I will start adding some colors with my artworks soon. Thank you for sharing.
No problem! I’m glad you found it useful :)
Beautiful work!! I love both! ❤
Thank you! 😊
Both look nice. Colour is something I want to try.
thank you :) I think colour is definitely worth it to try. It gives you another thing to play with in your art, and I've been pretty happy with it in my burnings so far
Love this, I love doing all of this, it’s hard to choose because there both unique in there own, love them both
Thank you! 😊
Loved the color one. Thank you
I like them both!!
I like both! 🤠🙏✝️🇺🇸
Brilliant
Thanks! :)
Congrats ! Both of them are so beautiful. I am tryng to learn and I learned with you a bit more. Thanks. Oh by the way I live in Brazil !!!
WOW WOW WOW....this is so beautiful.
Thank you! 😊
Okay, the first few seconds where you show your channel name & there's a chime... Yeah I got up & went to the front door cause I thought my Ring app was chiming & someone was at the door 😆
Anyway, I'm interested in pyrography so I've been watching videos. These feathers are beautiful & I really can't say I prefer one over the other!
lol that’s funny, my step moms text tone is a door bell so every time she gets a message we all think someone’s at the door. 😆
@@WildwoodStudio haha love it
Definitely like it with color best!
Thanks! 😊
Love color!
Beautiful feathers! Thanks for taking the time to share!
Thank you! 😊
They are both beautiful.
Thank you! 😊
May as well just draw it. Let the beauty of the wood speak.
I like the color
Thank you :)
Realy nice, so inspiring
Thank you :)
Amazing
Thanks :)
Simply awesome
This is lovely! I'm hoping to pick up wood burning because I'm an avid doodler and I think woodburning would complement it. I usually do that in color- so I'm excited to see how they can work together
Thanks 😊
Yeah, people do all kinds of different things with wood burning, I’ve seen lots of beautiful designs and mandalas and things that aren’t necessarily just realistic renderings, and there are lots of different ways to add colour to your burning too :) if you want to try it out, there’s a really great group called Pyrography on Facebook where people share their projects and ask questions.
As someone who has done pyrography Art for 5 yrs now, I personally like adding colours sometimes, however, I notice a few people I`ve asked along the way about adding colours to pyrography don`t like colour added. They prefer the picture done in pyrography left original. They`ve pointed out to me that if they wanted a picture done with colour they might as well have the whole thing done in colour pencils or paint only, so why colour up work done in pyrography, that`s a few opinions from customers anyway. I suppose it's all a matter of personal preference when it comes down to it. It's the same with Photographs, some people prefer colour ones others would prefer certain photos in B&W.
Yeah I totally agree. I have seen lots of wood burnings with colour and though “why not just make a painting?” And I do really like the look of a burning when it’s left natural. That being said, I’ve warmed up to colour a bit and have been adding it to some more of my burnings lately. I feel like if you don’t completely cover the burning it gives the picture some really nice depth, under the colour, and burnings with colour integrate with unfinished wood differently than just paint. It’s definitely a case of personal preference though. Thanks for your comment :)
Beautiful work
Stunning work! I’m hoping to add color for the first time to boxes I’m making for my niece and nephew. Your work is beautiful. I think for the object of feathers, the colors really help them pop!
Thank you! :) good luck with your project
Good stuff
Thanks :)
You are very talented. I love both ways very much.
Thank you 😊
Purple Gallinule has purple feathers.....beautiful work
Cool! And Thank you 😊
Nice video! I love the color!

Your art is beautiful. I am new to the art and just learning.
Thank you :) good luck with your art
Love the color... though your work is beautiful either way. I just started my new adventure in wood burning
Thank you 😊 good luck with your wood burnings!
Looks fabulous. Well done
Thank you! :)
First time seeing your videos. My daughter's name is Feather. Your work is beautiful... those Feather's are wonderful either way. I like both colored and plain. I just subscribed to your channel. 👍🤙
Thank you! 😊
Feather is a pretty name :)
Amazing work! Thankyou for sharing
Thank you! :)
I have such a hard time with shading and you make it look so easy. I love them both
Thank you! shading is really difficult but it definitely gets easier with practice :)
Hi. I'm from Kazakhstan. You have a great job. I also recently started doing wood burning.👍
Cool! Thanks you :) good luck with your wood burnings
I think they both look awsome good job
Thank you! :)
I too love just the wood burning, no color.
Very nice either way.
There are soo many awesome watercolor companies these days.
I also have a little travel set i really like by Sakura Koi but I don't think they make it anymore.
Typically I like holbein, Rembrandt talens, and M. Graham.
Also there's a color by Daniel Smith called Buff Titanium.
Gives a cool aged look to the paper and it's also sold as a powder for that aged look
I digress for a living😜
Thank you :)
I’ve never heard of some of those brands, I’ll have to look into them :)
and thanks for your comment, I always like finding new products.
Hello 👋 I'm just starting out just found your channel love it and I love both ways very nice Thank you 😊
Thank you! 😊
Good luck with your burnings
They both look awsome very awsome talent
Thank you 😊
Why do kids need brand new everything every year?! I continue to find entire boxes of color pencils & crayons that have barely been used. I couldn't wear them all down, if I was coloring everyday until the day I die. It's insanity!
Cool video BTW. Quick, and to the point. Awesome feathers too! 👏 👏 👏 Bravo
Lol 😂 I totally agree. I eventually just took everything I had left over from school and put all the pencil crayons in together and all the crayons together etc, because it was madness to have them all in separate boxes by brand 😝
and thank you 😊
Un trabajo precioso!!!, Gracias por compartir este vídeo, lis cambios de velocidad sin geniales porque nos permite ver en detalle el movimiento del pirograbador...muchas gracias, eres una artista 👏👏🥰
Thank you :) I’m glad you liked the video
I think it is beautiful with the colour. Good without it too but prefer colour.
Thank you 😊
They are both good
Thanks 😊
Wow that look great, I am just learning
Thanks, Good luck!
I've looked and there is so many answers. What do you use if your going to use color to hold the color in. Clear coat, lacquer....
And to add, I like both. To each their own I say. I'm getting more into wood burning and most prefer non-colored. Do you wood carve with a rotary also? If so I wood love to see that. How do I send a picture to you of my first wood burn picture, I'd like to share it with you. I saw a comment about your skin, I have psoriasis and the arthritis that comes with it. I'm an art major and did that suck when I couldn't do drawings much anymore. I'm trying to push threw pain. My kids are grown now so I have a lot more free time to start doing all types of art again. I'm adding you to my favorite videos. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! :)
For sealing in the colour I use Varathane Diamond wood finish, it’s water based and doesn’t yellow. The most important thing is to use a spray on finish because a brush on finish would smudge the colours.
And I bought a rotary tool to try that but I haven’t used it yet lol
Sorry to hear about your hands, I know it’s common to get arthritis with psoriasis, so I hope that doesn’t happen too soon for me. Nice to hear you can still make art though :)
If you’d like to send me a picture you can send me a message on my Facebook page or Instagram :)
It looks wonderful with colors. Very impressive. I started doing wood burning when I was a kid, using a magnifying glass and sun light, and recently upgraded to an electrical tool; so, thanks for the instructions (I hope you didn't burn your right hand with the wood burner?).
Thank you :) I’m glad you like it. And don’t worry, I didn’t burn myself. I have eczema and I tend to get flare ups on my hands and wrists.
This was awesome thank you
Thanks 😊
i love both
Thanks! :)
So cool
I love it
Thank you! 😊
