Yeah Korea is on a huge rise those past 10 years or so in media relevancy.
Manhwa got out of it's infancy phase, where while the medium was pushing the comic envelope by adapting perfectly to smartphones, outperforming manga in ease of access - I have bough a Kobo Sage just to be able to read manga, meanwhile a phone or a tablet is enough to enjoy most manhwa in 'native' resolution - but it had no established respected classics that could be compared to popular manga, it was considered trash entertaintment. Yet by now there are plenty series that could be called a masterpiece with tons of B+ and A series. I have read so many I got used to names and honorifics, something manga had a huge advantage as Japanese names are ingrained through media exposure for at least 30 years.
Korean shows and movies are also producing banger after banger. Same with games. All those things are up there now and can fully stand on their own but it surely helps how all those works don't follow current western trends. Please never bend the knee and always do your own thing, this is the true diversity they don't want us to have

There have been a lot of feminist developers hiding their bs agenda in their games lately - Korean gamers are having none of it though and at least for the time being, devs generally side with their gamers and fix things accordingly whenever such issues are raised.
