    I have a 1999 Miata and have watched many CZcamss about removing the door panel. Most of the vids I saw showed a second screw in the handle assembly. Mine only had one showing. This vid hits the nail on the head with the second screw hidden under a piece of velcro inside the handle that I did not know was even there. Today, I peeled the velcro back and Voila, there was the hidden screw! Thanks so much! I was going nuts looking for a second screw visible. BRAVO!

      @@R-SXX I have done it on two 99 miatas, I used Dynamat, basically I tried to cover as much area on the inside portion of the outter door skin and also used some around the speaker hole. Speaking of I always use the Rockford Fosgate 8in mids in the door with 1in tweeters. I use a footwell Rockford Fosgate 8in sub in a footwell box for the passenger side. I put my two power amps in the trunk and its a rockin bad ass sound system

      I'm lucky b/c the guy across the street from me is an upholsterer. Lent me a pry wrench and some picks and I got it off. Now, I have to see if I can get into the metal from behind to work out some dents, lube the mechanism, and install some Hush Mat.

    Perfect thanks. One screw on my handle was in a different place and just in a hole at the bottom of the handle and not under that piece of felt you lifted up but apart from that my '04 NB Arctic was identical.

    Thanks for the reminder of how to do this. I need to take my driver's one off to make may for a flat door card so I stop hitting my elbow on the handle/armrest in tight turns. You got any tips about doing that?

    Does the door have to be removed from the car in order to do this? I have to replace my power mirror and if I don’t have to remove the door that would be a blessing lol

    • @MiataMan
      @MiataMan  Před rokem +1

      The door does NOT need to be removed. 👍
      I just happened to have one in the garage to use as an example.

  • @ybarsabal

    When I close my door it definitely sounds like an older car door closing (rattley?). Is this because things are loose? Is there a way to fix this?

    • @MiataMan
      @MiataMan  Před 3 lety

      Sometimes, the back roller that is attached to the window becomes loose and rattled around.
      It would be a great idea to remove the window and tighten everything up.
      Good time to lubricate the mechanism too.
