I have 4 tiefo and 1 tie sf. All i need to grab is an upsilon shuttle and a silencer. As for Resistance, only missing bombers. Kits will be easy to fill out so i will pick these up eventually

I really like the look of the new Poe and the t-70 in general, even though we don't really know exactly what it's configuration does yet

I preorder both kits but i am looking forward more for the first order. Regarding new ships i didn’t get any new tie of the second edition i actually got an blue core set of the v.01 that i get 2 ties fo plus one T70 for the same price of one expansion ship.
Ferrosphere paint? Call me more than curious on that Tech upgrade (Tallissan Linatra Quick Build at 7:44). Do you think its going to be a damage mitigation or evasion boosting upgrade? Might replace Primed Thrusters for me on Quadjumpers if it is decent enough.
There are only a few resistance/ first order ships, but it's still rough to have to rebuy ships. It's nice that they're cheaper.

Question from the future. So, I bought the starter force awakens, very cheap, 20 dollars, bought it by accident, thought it was 2.0 dumb of me. But, If I buy some resitance ships like the T70 or a tie fighter of the order, maybe two, can I use the other ships to 2.0 and that way, I have the extra dice and extra stuff, to use with my other starter set?
As a counter point if you missed the heros of the resistance, the convertion is a cheaper option if you have a falcon and a t-70 from 1.0.

Great outlook on the value of these kits!! I’m looking forward to the release of more new ships, but as a diehard TIE fan, I’m all over these first order ships.
What do you think about the value of larger tabletop games (I.e. Legion) for two casual players? I see tons of legion players using intricate (and expensive) terrain and 3D maps...are these essential to the overall enjoyment of the game? As a huge Star Wars fan I’d like to get into it, but I’m not sure if it’s quite worth the time and monetary investment. Love the content, keep it up!
Didn't the Tie that Poe and Finn used to escape crash on Jakku and then get sucked up into the sands of Jakku?
7 factions may be tough to balance.
Thanks for the info. I have some of TFA core sets, the Resistance Heroes expansion, and an SF Tie - Right now I'm focused on Rebel and Imperial Factions. We'll see what they come out with in the future. I like it, but for me, these are on the back burner for now.
I loved both of these conversions. Now all my ships are 2.0. Except for the HUGE ships that are missing 2.0 conversion kits
I'm not huge on either sequel faction so I'm okay with them being separate so that I don't have to consider anymore. Bring on Clone Wars factions!

Im getting it for sure. Im also considering the fact that the quad jumpers have tech and if pattern analyser get reprinted... its on! Also lately ive been flying 4 xwings and i am wondering if i could do the same for the resistance. We'll have to see the costings and more spoilers to see. Here hoping to win, not for me but to give it to a friend who is starting and does not own one yet!!
The Resistance kit includes 4 T-70 dials, so I hope the cheapest generics are costed to be a 4-of list.
What about the lack of the new target locks in the conversion kits!
Good point regarding every one of the five (current) factions having a TIE fighter...but, I wonder if the one for the Resistance could be included in the conversion kit in the form of Poe flying a TIE F/O Special Forces...I've always wondered why there isn't a Crew on that in 1.0 since Finn clearly functioned in that role in the second seat, but perhaps there will be a Gunner for it in 2.0. But, if that were included in the Resistance Conversion Kit, that would be worth it even more, I think...! Who knows?
I play at home mostly and like the idea of being able to add more factions into the mix. Im getting both of these and just going to reuse my extra t65s as t70s and tie/ln as tie/fo and tie/sf, etc. Buying from Gamenerdz brought the price down from MSRP as well. By doing it this way and grabbing the other ships from 1.0 sales, it isnt to bad.
My first question when I bought my core set was "is Talli Lintra available in another expansion?"
Do you need conversion kits if your just getting started. Maybe I should go to Armada. Can't make up my mind. Any advice as to which one would be greatly appreciated. I really love the big capital ships but Armada is very pricey. Aah! I don't know.
I would say it depends on what you're looking for in a tabletop game. Armada is like chess as where X-Wing is like checkers both have different levels of strategy. Both are good for different reasons. Personally just as I like chest better I like Armada better also it just has more depth.
That A-Wing looks cool, but... Man.. Poe's gonna be slaying them...
If you get the 2.0 core set will you still need the conversation kits?

Apparently if you don't have the upgrade card you can't equip that upgrade on your ship in tournaments which completely defeats the point of an Official App.
The app isn't there to replace the cards, it exists so that the costs can be adjusted as necessary.
Probably worth collecting the Resistance for myself. I only have the TIE silencer for the First Order.
I'll probably end up getting them. Is it worth it? I don't know, but will still probably do it.
So if you are going to start fresh under 2.0, would you suggest starting with the Resistance or First Order versus one of the main factions from 1.0?

I do...considering that I bought in using mainly Resistance and First Order ships...and Second Edition was announced before I could get into the game.

The conversion kits don't have evade token as well, I were eager to try a tie swarm and that was stupid way to fail I'm already full of calculate tokens and no evade... FFG is doing poorly
I think the fact that you can play straight out the gate has quite a lot to be said for it. Is it worth the price tag? To me it is, I really miss my upsilon!
TFA. Also Shriv and Iden's daughter (blanking on name) stole a TIE/sf in BF2. In regards to the question, do I need these? No. I already have the Rebel, Imperial and Scum kits. I have a ton of upgrade cards, and do not look forward to more copies of all the generics. But I do want them. More so specifically the First Order as the faction interests me more. At present I have 6 TIE/fo models, 2 TIE/sf, 2 TIE/vn and 1 Upsilon. All around I probably do not need any more models, and at the same time have a suitable collection to play First Order right away, so I definitely want that kit so that I can do so. As for the Resistance... not excited about their currently existing ships. But I also have 4 T-70, 1 YT-1300 (though technically 3 b/c Rebel and Scum ones also), and 1 MG-100... and have zero interest in acquiring more of these models. I am definitely going to pick up the RZ-2 immediately... likely 3 of them. I could probably wait on the Resistance to come later (and supposedly just get the individual card only, no model, expansions that were spoken of...), but what would those cost for the same 4 T-70, 3 YT-1300, and 1 MG-100 I care about that are in the kit. Overall... will just save myself some hassle and take the convenience of getting that all now, upfront. That is how I see it anyways. That said, if anyone needs generic upgrades, I have a ton (especially Juke after two SC's...). xD
Yep I do need these because it’s going to be a good while until most of these ships are released in 2.0. I have enough 1.0 ships to justify these conversion kits

I had to drop scum, first order, and resistance it's really getting to be too much. Especially not converting much on these 2 kits

2.0 is definitely better than first but if it's worth it is up to you. I think its rough if you a small collection that would now be split up into Rebel/Resistance for instance- or if you have a massive collection and feel the need to convert everything (which you do not). I suggest, start small, pick a faction, go from there- or wait until new factions release because there might be a new core box release

The official app is okay. If it seemed empty, you may have been looking at the "Second Edition" mode in it, which only includes this first wave, 2 or 3 ships per faction. Extended mode involves the conversion kits- everything from 1.0 updated so its a lot bigger.
I'd try launch-baynext for squadbuilders. It's cleaner and faster.
That is interesting but I still don't understand why they didn't make the other two conversion kits that price. Granted that there is more but it is still a ridiculous amount of money being spent on.

So here is an Important question. How are they going to do the "Black One" paint scheme with closing S-Foils? I doubt they will release 2 X-Wing expansions at the same time. Will they do a heroes of the resistance box again with the falcon? Maybe something like scum and villainy got ( box with 1 X-Wing and 2 A-Wings ). I really want that model.
I think I saw Saw's Renegades is coming out with a 2.0 version so hopefully that applies to other releases like the Force Awakens set.
I don't think they'll do it. I think they'll leave it up to players to pick up the 1.0 Heroes of the Resistance packs if they want that color scheme.
I personally like to be able to play all the factions. My go to is Galactic Empire. However I like trying out fun and crazy builds for all the factions! Will definitely pick up the kits.
Do you think they will release a Core set for Resistance and FO for players who do not want Empire or Rebel? Hopefully they will get enough charge tokens lol.
More excited for RZ-2 A-Wing than I am for anything else right now, and L'ulo is an A-Wing pilot from the Poe Dameron comic series. Well worth checking out, lots of cool dogfighting and new First Order and Scum ships, some potential for the First Order ship variants in Armada also.
I'm just looking for a Resistance Bomber so that I can fly some Resistance fun. I will need those flappy wings, though...
In my opinion I think its cool but it seems just Like the Empire and rebellion and there are so few ships for both sides, the resistance and the first order.But its just my opinion

Hey Crabbok, you think they will send additional new tokens to pissed off customers? I noticed the lack of shields and new green tokens after buying 4 new boxes, 3 upgrade sets and core.

I'm thinking I like that first order kit. I would love to see first order and resistance in Armada.
rose crew takes over control of the ship, crashes you into another friendly ship, and then says you should stop fighting. All the A wings and bombers blow up except one that allows you to turn on gravity and flip the game board to win.
Curious about even new core sets for the new factions for the new trilogy and the prequel trilogy
I might have preferred these as a combined kit, just because it doesn’t feel like a particularly good value at 30 for either.
Definitely worth to buy the conversion kits. I already have 2 YT 1300s. Just buying the conversion kits prevents me from spending $40 for the new one.
