Thanks Crabbok! This is exactly the kind of video I've been wanting to see about these conversion kit. Good timing too as just yesterday I spent a lot of time playing around on a 2.0 squad builder, so that got me in the mood for some more X-wing.
Those positives aside, I'm not happy to see FFG skimp on the generic pilot cards so much. I actually found myself building a lot more swarm lists than I did in 1.0. Surprisingly, a lot of these were even rebel lists. So seeing only 2 of each generic for the X-wing, Y-wing, and A-wing has left me feeling a bit soured on this. It's clear that FFG wants its old players buying a new core set as well.
I know you did a video on 2.0's new damage deck, but I don't suppose you could do a quick pilot/upgrade cards video from the core set? If not, I understand. I'm just trying to gather all the information I can about 2.0 so I can plan my purchases wisely.
i started watching this video again its helpful in desiding what to buy next
Thanks for the video. Nice to see all the upcoming cards.
Great vid C. Thanks for taking the time. Not the most pleasant video to make - but greatly appreciated. Can’t wait for 2.0!
Thank you always giving us good videos.
I have a question: how many maneuver dials per ship in the conversion kit? And do they provide the new tokens (focus, lock, force, charge, shield...) ?
Thanks for the video great, I know you didn't go through the board but does it come with any tokens? Thank keep up the great work.
Are there no tokens for shields and focus in the conversion kits?
Great video, as always, thank you. Can you confirm that none of the Conversion kits include any Evade and Shield tokens?
If I plan on playing rebel’s/rsitance what 1.0 ships should I buy?
Also is ffg planing on remaking the 1.0 ships?
Before I get took far into this, does the scum kit come with enough to convert all 4 IG88s? I bought 4 packs in first edition.
In your opinion did they improve the TIE interceptors or are they still laser bait?
Are there any upgrade cards in these conversion kits that are not in the current wave 1 expansions? Would it be worth buying these just for the upgrade cards?
That’s a crazy amount of cards!
So, will be Rebels able to keep using Genius and Trajectory Simulator? I ll have to buy a scum convertion kit to get a copy or there is a plan to come with one rebel ship in the future?
Thanks for the look see ....great job
What faction do you play most and which do you play least
Are there shield and focus tokens in any of these?
Can you help me understand if 2.0 means I have to rebuy ships I have to get new pilots and such? Or is the conversion kit 'complete' for ships I have and 2.0 releases of those ships won't include new stuff?
converstion kit gives you cards, bases and dials for each ship. the new expansions will as far as we know so far have new upgrade and ace pilots
Some one told me you won't have to buy ships, but you can buy new pilot cards with each re release. That's why there are so few names pilots with non wave one ships. So this isn't all you need to buy to keep your ships current.
Do the conversion kits come with extra pegs?
So, do you suppose Keyan will come with the B-Wing when they re-release it? (Wasn't he originally a Y-Wing pilot, incidentally, in his first appearance in any Star Wars media?)
Also: is Robert Mueller a Systems upgrade? ;)
Hmm no Phantom II? Maybe it got missed on the shuffle. But seeing the Added cards in the separate packs also make me think if you want to have all the pilots available you'll need to buy the new ship expansion after the upgrade kits are shipped.
I finished my cardboard and i notice i dont have enlugh shield tokens to fly anything.... i have 4 shield tokens, thanks core set.......
I just use D20s to keep track of shields
Are small bases the same or will I have to put magnets on the new ones? That was such a very tedious process, but entirely necessary.
Tanglangfa same bases just added medium bases with an adapter peg for the changes on ships that went to medium.
Thank goodness!
I love your videos i buyed star wars armada starter set , home one and imperial star deystroyer and now i waiting for this your videos are amazing 😊😊😊
Gonna need a bigger binder.
I'm sad you can't fly the firespray as an imperial anymore. I bought the firespray but don't have any scum at all
I think that Ved Foslo is from the lost stars. He was thane kyrell room mate.
Do the kits come with tokens to go along with all the upgrades.. like shield tokens etc?
Basically everything EXCEPT for shield tokens. Focus, Evade, Stress, Charge, Force, etc.... but no shields. Not sure why.
Love this game. 2.0 is a very nice improvement. However FFG really gave us less then we deserve. And less then we need with these conversion kits.
No shields?!?! Than we cant really fly most of the original ships. It is tantamount to false advertising or botched quality assurance. I hope FFG finds a way to make it right for those of us who bought these things.
What ever happened to the "Blaster Turret" ?
Ved is from lost stars btw he was Thane's and Nash's other roommate
Ahhh thanks!
Ved was Thane's father’s brother’s nephew’s cousin’s former roommate.
the conversion kits are just one half of the Version 2.0. As you may have noticed, non of the cards have a COST associated with it, That is because FFG has yet to unveil the most important component of this, the LIST TOOL or the tool now required to create a list! The new version will fiddle around with costs of a unit or whatever add on to it, and that will profoundly impact the meta more than anything else in the game!
Kinda disappointed only able to run 2 tie interceptors...
That is a huge bummer, since I have four interceptor models
I love this game, and acquired a lot of expansions over the years for the first ed. Recently got the 2nd ed. and Decimator expansion as a gift and played first game the other day. I agree though, unless we xwing vets shell out more money, pretty much left out in the cold for 2nd ed.. For now I'm just going to play 2nd ed with 2nd ed expansions and Keep playing first ed. with my old ships! 😆
Should mention that the convertion kits dont come with shield tokens :(
No force card for the empire? Or did I miss that skipping through the vid?
I mean, Vader, Palpatine, and the other Sith crew members can use force, though I think the Force reference card is in the 2.0 core set which includes the updated rulebook for how force abilities work.
I'm gonna need another card holder book....
So if I really.understand all I need is damage deck from 2.0 core and one of the kits to play
“Only 2 IG2000 upgrades”.... is that because there’s only 2 IG88 bases and dials?
Your highland wookie accent is... interesting. Lol.
They took out Keyan Farlander, the protagonist of the namesake of the whole X-Wing miniatures series? Stuff like this is why I'm not going over to 2.0. I went for 1.0 because it respected Legends. And what happened to all the X-Wing pilots?
Yeah not happy about the way they effectively ripped you off if you want to upgrade. Not only do you have to buy the conversion packs but it appears pilots are missing to come out with new releases of ships you already have. So you have to buy at least one of every ship you want a pilot for. It is not a good move take Bolt Action v2 all you neede was a couple of templates and a few new tokens. You did not even have to buy them you could use other templates and make your tokens bug then they were only like £6 to buy. All the army books stayed in game and bases etc. You do not change a game and expect your player base to have to spend out hundreds of pounds to be able to play.
Where are the Epic conversion cards???
Jon Kihm they don’t exist, like your patience!
@@dave6386 brutal. Just didn't know they we're a part of the current conversion kit. Sorry I asked...
Hey guys, FFG here. I am so glad to announce X-wing 2.0! Upon release, we ask that you buy the $40 starter kit. Of course, you know all those ships you already bought? Well don't worry, you can still use them but you must buy a $50 conversion kit PER faction that you own. Don't worry though, the kit has everything you need to convert over....but we leave out a few of your favorite pilots so that you will end up rebuying your ships anyway! Happy flying!!!
Hello nice FFG person! Quick one for pertaining to 2.0 if I may. I noticed that FFG released a full size damage deck with nice ship damage detail at GenCon. Do you know if the company plans to release this damage deck as a separate purchase at some later point? Thanks. Take care. Keep up the amazing work :)
Hey why don't the new pilot cards have score ratings? Like Vader should be 27 or 28, I didn't see any numbers.
Wait! What no Thweek?? 2:28
I don’t if I should get these their quite expensive
only running EU squads from now on.
Good luck, the longer time goes on, the more the game will be populated by characters from the Disney movies, Marvel comics, EA games and Chuck Wendig's books.
Not a thing to look forward to.
Nothing more than a cash grab. Can't wait till version 3 comes out and i have to buy everything all over again. FFG, way to support fans that bought a lot of version 1 stuff.
no. X-wing is dead to me.
First.😁
man the jump master is garbage now
C3PU well it was OPed to start with
This is money grabing beyond even Games Workshop level...and that was the worst until now. I have ships from the 3 actual factions and the two former subfactions and I basicaly need to put something like 250$ just to play with some of those ships and yet have a conexion to put a legit ship list with points even for games with friends... way to treat loyal customers. Sorry but no, will use the new rules and try to buy second hand things like damage deck and ships cards in some months...that's all.
Roberto Bueno Doallo they aren’t forcing you to do anything. I’m sure you’ll love 2.0 in time. They’ve been working on this for YEARS. You do realize that, right?
How are you supposed to know the pilot value, like building a 100 point team is impossible now? I didn't see any numbers.
Kinda false advertising. I came for a review and was given an unboxing :/
I apologize - but I considered this to be a review, primarily because there was no box. I know it sounds silly, but I don't think I can call it an unboxing when I already unboxxed it before this video. Seemed to me review was the better category.
Okay, then unwrapping/unfoiling/showing-off-content? A review this definitely is not.
Being a month away from release, I wanted an opinion on whether the upgrade kits are worth their cost. I wanted to reflect on whether I should continue to keep all factions or cutting down.
Makes sense. I was actually planning to break all of that down in a "Buyer's Guide" video for 2.0, probably later this week. After having everything done, it's becomming apparent that some things are more worthwhile than others.
