Based on the alternative damage deck pictures, you were dealt a “structural damage” card for the wing of the model x-wing you shot with the nerf gun on one of your last videos.
So looking forward to getting these. My son and I both play, so I have ordered 2 x Core set and one of each conversion kit. I think getting a core set is the only way to get the new damage deck? Unfortunately here in the UK, FFG stuff can arrive up to four weeks after the initial US release date so it may be as long away as October for me. A lot of resistance to version 2.0 at my local store. Many people are upset at the cost. Yes it is hard on those who have paid out a lot on version 1 (me included) but, you can hardly expect FFG to give V2 away for free. Personally I believe most X-wing players will cave in and buy. V2 is likely to bring in new players as well. I think it will be just me and my son on day one though. Live un-boxing in my local store :)
I do like how FFG is slightly changing the paint jobs for the the T-65's it gives me hope that one day we might get a blue squadron x wing (:

Yeah. I was ecstatic that Gen Con attendees received the standard size damage deck.
Nian Castro it was important to me to have 2 of the new deck because my wife and I play with same set of ships.
Can a noob ask a question? I got the t65 damage deck, how do you guys go about using it in a game? I play with my wife and she plays rebels. Would she only use that damage deck if her X wing takes damage? Or can we both use it assuming that the graphics are incorrect but the written text can apply to any ship?

Very nice! That damage deck for the T-65 is pretty cool, too...I wonder if any of them will go up on eBay for those of us who weren't there or who didn't pre-order...?
Oh I'd bet they'll be up there.
And...I just ordered one! It was a bit more expensive than I'd like to pay for a deck of cards ($35...so, as much as the core set itself when I can get it!), but I needed a reward after the few weeks I've had...sheesh. ;) I saw one for the same price earlier, plus $3.50 shipping, and was going to get it, but it disappeared, and then I found one with free shipping for the same price, so hurrah for that, too!
Wasn't there a pre-order bonus as well? same damage deck?
Odd the conversion kits didnt come with shield tokens.... at least 10 or so would have been nice

Do we know if the Conversion kits are limited time products, or do we think they will still be available permanently?
James Wilks we don’t know for sure but I imagine they will be around for a very long time if not indefinite. Long enough to cover all the 1.0 ships that are out in circulation I imagine
I am going to buy the core sets and your budget recommend for rebels and empire to play with the kids. Do you still recommend the budget buy videos? If I can get into it I do want to get competitive.
Jovanni Bee don’t buy any of the 1.0 stuff until you figured out what you want to convert over to 2.0 - the ships before 2.0 won’t be compatible without the conversion kit.
If you don’t have anything new, I’d focus on the 2.0 releases only.
Or, buy ships cheap off someone quitting or downsizing and then buy one conversion box for your faction of choice
Important exception - you can buy the expansion “Saw’s Renegades” and the “Tie Reaper” packs and they have 2.0 stuff in them.
So, if I was brand new and only playing with the kids, I’d buy 2.0 core, 2.0 ywing pack, and either 2.0 xwing pack or the renegades for another color and the Uwing which is a neat support ship. Then for the empire 2.0 tie advanced and reaper. That gives a solid mix of ships - maybe just the advanced and an extra fighter to go with the two fighters in core.
Start small and then go from there if you end up liking it a lot.
When is the Core 2.0 set going to be available if you didn't get to make it to Gencon? I heard we cannot buy it until September. That's over 1 month away! Doesn't seem fair to have to wait that long to play 2.0

September 13 is release for the rest of us plebs who could not go to GenCon

I'd like to know that too. Most "what to buy next" advice is to get 2 core sets so I'd wait for that if there was one. And I'd assume the damage deck would be the same as the initial 2.0 core set?

lol! I have a ton more to do yet. Still have to get around to Key Forge as well!

Hoping to get some play in this weekend, but that may be the short form. A full batrep may have to wait awhile as I'm behind on a ton of stuff, and have some catching up to do.
