  • In this video we are showing you a new hidden secret that can be found in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla!
As a matter of fact, we were able to find the location showcasing the tomb of Magister Vitus, the Hidden One that oversaw the evacuation of the Brotherhood from England during the Fifth Century A.D.
In the video we’ll have a look at his story and we’ll show you how to figure out where to find his tomb, which is untracked on the map, and also how to decode a final message that can be found close to his remains!

I never really thought about Vitus' tomb in the game - although it is cool how it was located and his message deciphered. It's little secrets like this that make the game continually feel like Assassin's Creed - although it'd have been interesting if we found a hidden piece of gear in there - say, like all those one-handed swords no one can ever find.

Theres a bunch of stuff that isnt as "secret" but they are moments where if you check out something someone has said, you can actually find it. I found the pit where Ragnar was killed, someone else's unfortunate situation (vague b/c spoilers) amongst other stuff. This is a great start. The way they changed how exploration points are marked and the way they reward curiousity should definitely be continues. Things like that are what keeps a game alive. RDR2 did this masterfully and AC Valhalla learned a few things since Odyssey. I hope they continue to evolve in this direction even without Ashraf heading things.

    “We will willingly
    eat those who are dominant
    But I’ve failed - Vitus”
I think it’s meant to be a haiku! I don’t think anyone’s mentioned this side of it yet, a coded message by a 5th century Assassin, written in old Latin, that when translated directly in Google Translate to English, gives a perfect haiku! I’m in love with how Darby hid the best lore so deeply, it rewards us nut jobs willing to keep spelunking till we uncover it all!

Ok now im gonna pay extra attention to those hints in game. As long as they dont have a "gavin" in there like rdr2.
Btw did you discover that when you go back to start areas where arcs took place there is a cutscene depending on your choices.
You get it via letters but doesnt trgger a map marker.
    So far i found:
    Spoiler alert!
    -Grave of ceolwulf
-Visiting and comforting his father afterwards triggers cutscene.
-Coronation of Aelderman Gaedric at Cyne Belle and the escape of the main anatoginist of the arc when you choose to spare her Gaedric will tell a short tale of how she became meek and washed clothes ans became a nun only to escape..
-Bisshop Deorlaf and what has become of his district after your departure.

That's so cool. I myself thought I solved the puzzle when I found it. Triangulating the two towers nearby towers led me a bit off the correct path to a couple of trees; of which when viewed from the bird above formed an X on the spot. My reward for climbing the tall one was a nice shiny piece of opal, so I thought that was it. I'll have to go back and poke around the area. Nice find.

There's actually a really cool reason that the encoded message was written on a leather strip. The strip would have been wrapped around a wooden rod and then written on. A messenger would then carry the strip to its designated recipient who would have held a rod of equal size. They would then wrap leather around it and be able to read the message. This method was originally used by the Spartans to encode their messages during the Peloponnesian war.

England had the darkest of the High Middle Ages as no mayor city was spared from the Roman withdrawal and it wasn't romanised enough as it was mostly colonised by veterans and active militias. We know who Clovis was for the Frankish Kingdom. We have the Breviary of Alaric (Lex Romana Visigothorum) for the Visigoths which came to Spain. We have detailed history of the conquest of Italy by the Lombards. What we don't have are accounts of Arthur or Uther Pendragon nor their campaigns agaisnt the Angles, the Saxons and/or the Jutes.

Syndicate on the other hand is a much lighter story than Unity and also more light-hearted. If you enjoy the British accent and Victorian culture that's your game ^^
