  • Here’s a quick video on my latest buy. It’s kind of a pile of junk but maybe I’ll try to get it back in the road.

    It's a 1st Gen fastback, so it's definitely worth building. Just found your channel. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

    You would be a fool not to fix it. These cars are gems. Ill take it off your hands.

    I decided to let this car go. It is the 3rd 65-66 fastback I have had. The first one wasn't as bad as this, but someone had butchered it trying to fix it. The 2nd one was nice and a good driver. I quickly lost enthusiasm for this one after getting it home and really looking it over. As some of you said, really the only thing worth saving on this was the roof. I actually looked around for a while for a solid coupe to transfer this onto, but in the end decided to sell this and keep looking for a better one. I'm best suited to work on the mechanical side of things and didn't want to spend the next 2 years cutting up sheet metal.

      @@brianarrington4569 paid 12500 and sold it for 12,500. Lost money on gas to go get it and title transfer.

    Man that looks like a lot of fun to fix up. what you pay $25-35k? I would keep it make it a driver not a show car. So much fun.

    I imagine that rust is common in your part of the country. I like the 66' mustang. You've got yourself quite a project. Best of luck .

    Keep the body, sell the engine and tranny, dump the rest. You'll have way more money in fixing/restoring this car than its worth. Body worth saving for sure.

    Fix it. It's a lot of work, but it can be done.the rear frames aren't that bad to replace, and the torque boxes come with them if you order right. Look things over real good.

    Overall the car seems in pretty good shape. You don't see a 6cyl 2+2 very often. That alone makes it a keeper. Sure its not a K code or a Shelby but still....

    I don't know, it depends of how passionate you are with the 65 6 fastback Mustang whether you should keep it or not. If it were up to me, I'd say keep it, monkey around with it a bit over time. Patch up the chassis and put that 302 4 speed in it that you have . Vintage fastback Mustangs are worth big bucks! When you repair / restore it over time, don't do a concours restoration but do make it out of a nice driver car, that way you can really enjoy the car over the time and not get discouraged with it. The color of the car is poppy red or as Ford calls it Rangoon Red. I'm just very curious, may I ask you how much you paid for the car?

      Good question. Not really one at all. Came up with this name when I was doing more land speed racing. Maybe some day fun projects would be my full time gig, but my real job is running the engineering department for S&S Cycle and helping Indian Motorcycle with their racing efforts.

    I couldn't make it to the end of the video. You had no enthusiasm about any part of this car. Don't waste your time, money. You won't show it the love it deserves. Pass it on to someone who will. If this is how you approach projects, start collecting marbles and stay away from the cars that need more than an oil change.....sell it

  • @thirdcargarage2951
    @thirdcargarage2951 Před rokem

    Please sell the car to someone that appreciates it. You could care less. Go buy a VW. Leave the real classics to someone that would be thrilled by every inch of the car. And stay awake at night wondering how to pay for it, but dedicated to get it done.
