What are your favorite start settings?
Lowering evolution over time, raised evolution and attacks by pollution, generally more aggressive biters but not quite death world. More arid worldgen thats semi rail world, but lots of oil.
Oh and, MAX CLIFF CONTINUITY. natures own bottleneck, helps when the pollution starts sending carpets of chitin and anger.

For the people new to this game: Instead of getting a coal rock or a tree, you can also just mine a piece of coal from the ore to kickstart your coal miners :)

I have over 750+ hours in factorio and NEVER thought about this at 4:50 I am just trained to defend from all angles but this so smart because it lifts some of that stress of defending from everywhere, and this is why I love this game and community because there is always something new to learn whether you’re a veteran or a beginner
I personally still do because whenever I dont I get torn up by a new biter nest spawning waves...

Right click to craft 5 Items
Shift+Left Click to craft all Items BUT when doing so it'll stack them all too meaning that you'll be creating for an example 150 fast inserters in 1 go where as spamming the Right Mouse Button on said item will craft 5 at a time meaning you can build a little while the rest is being made

I'm really happy to see KoS back for more Factorio. I watched the entire Entry level to Megabase 2 series while learning the game and only at the end realized it was over a year old at the start. Take your time as you need it and know that we are looking forward to every new video.
So happy to see / hear ya playing again. I hope all gets better. I really like the jump start mods as the beginning can be the slowest. Starting with robots is just a great quality of life kinds of thing.

One of the things I like about this introduction, is that it doesn't become instantly uber complicated. Nor does it simply instantly use vast and complex models to sort out every problem. At the beginning you should be have some messiness. I like starting with some small scale activity. If at the very beginning you are talking about where your rocket is going to blast off from, you miss something in the game, I believe. I accept, that if this is your thousandth beginning, then skipping over all this initial stuff makes sense. But for someone new, something like this is the way to go.

Yeah! I only just started playing a few months ago and really enjoyed the entry to megabase 2 series but had a hard time playing along with you because some of the recipes had changed. I've been very much looking forward to this series to play along with all the current recipes.

edit: thank you for the clear explanations of the menuing and hotkeys and basic concepts that most other players skip past. that's what i've been missing from the other beginner guides i've tried watching.
also, i really love that you mention your disability and how you use a mod to make the game more accessible for you. i have a disability that similarly makes it difficult to make precise inputs and play for extended periods, so it's really nice hearing such a popular player be so casual and frank about their accessibility needs in gaming.

It's my favorite game of all time.... and I've been a gamer for decades, so I've seen a LOT of titles... Really worth. I recommend playing it without watching anyone... just experience it for yourself and enjoy the learning process.
My wife has some neuropathy so I understand and have a lot of empathy for you. Regardless of the struggle, you still put out some of the best factorio content there is. Thank you!
