As a man who struggled with meth, heroin, Xanax, Valium, X & cocaine in my teens & 20's, I found this hilarious!! EVERYTHING is funny to me....went to rehab at 29 & I'm 52 now. I even have the occasional beer without any problems & I'm happy and well adjusted altho it took a lot of work. I watched this with my son & told him all the horrors of the person he never knew I was. And we laughed & laughed. For all the ppl saying he SHOULDN'T joke about this subject, get over yourselves. Comedy almost ALWAYS has its roots in personal tragedy. I approve this special 👍🏻👍🏻

I love these "get help here" phone numbers. I've been to one of those places. Detox. The only doctor there quit last week after working there for ten years. The staff were mostly Walmart greeters. The rooms had 4 beds each and the people there were arrested and forced to be there. Here I am like "hi yall! I want to get clean!" Needless to say, it was not a good time. And, because apparently so many people would just run away if they let us outside for, you know, sunshine, We were not aloud outside for the entire week. But hey, at least it was free!! Murica!

As somebody who got addicted to Adderall, I can testify that it’s really easy to find doctors that freely write prescriptions. My technique was different from John Mulaney’s but it worked just as well.

I know this seems humorous, but i had a doctor that wrote me an open prescription for Adderall. Because i asked him to. He was not a bad man. He was actually a great guy that truly cared for me. He would take time to pray with patients. I was very upfront about my history of addiction. He was just very naive. Long story short, i had to let him know that there was a problem and we should probably see other people. Again, a truly sweet man. But he probably would've killed me if I didn't cut him off
As someone who has gone to rehab I think I can say I have had the opposite reaction. It's usually after I binged so much the concept of drinking revolts me because I literally take a drink and my liver and pancreas hurt. About the only thing I want alcohol is to self-immolate to end my suffering and stop ruining all the nearby carpets with my barf. I kinda just wonder into the ER, tell them why I'm there, get Addavan and pass out for 14+hours. They usually take my blood and piss for samples. This is one of the few moments in my life my response to "Hey we're gonna take your blood and piss" is an acceptable thing for me. And I open the little betting floor in my head to see if this is the time I went to far and need to stop or die.
In the past he has often talked about how he used to regularly blackout and get wasted to the point he had to quit alcohol, him having addiction issues isnt new
I was in a very similar situation to him, and I also got Librium, but mine was for alcohol withdrawal, and buphrenorphene for heroin withdrawal, my habit was so dangerous because I was addicted to heroin and alcohol at the same time, I have overdosed so many times because of mixing them, but I would always do it again a few weeks later to the point other addicts felt sorry for my situation, you know it’s bad then
