- I don't really know what to call the Ohio besides a better Montana. It trades speed, gun count and AA for the capacity to overmatch 30mm, faster reload, much faster turret traverse, better penetration, faster rudder shift, Massachusetts secondaries and the fast heal. That's not a very good trade for the Monty. You can find my recommended build at the end.

@Flamu I like the game and warship things in general and I have been watching your channel now and then. Funnily enough just the polite nudge to ask and subscribe got me to do it, so might not be so bad idea to do so from time to time.
I really hope WG stops giving ships with high caliber guns a ridiculously low turret traverse speed; it means you don't need to take EM, which was mandatory for old BBs, allowing you to choose another 2 point skill without any drawbacks.
Same here. It really shows, painfully, on the old bb's.
They should give German BBs this improved secondary accuracy like on Ohio and Graf Zeppelin for example. I just love how you can run full tank build on Georgia and Ohio and still have 9.4km accurate secondaries. This makes them much better secondary platforms in my opinion.
Awesome ship, my new favourite in fact but the grind to get her was extensive. She is awesome in ranked though.
Edit: if you could have the Montana’s legendary module she would be even better.

I had actually waited to pick the first slot upgrade to see how tanky the turrets are, but found that the B turret gets knocked out more than I'd be comfortable with so I picked the standard main armaments mod.1 ... maybe I just got really unlucky a bunch of times, but I certainly can't say I've had the same experience with turret durability as you had.

Ohio, holly sh#t, I love it!
You can pull off stuff no other ship can, because of 38sec heal cooldowns (with flag) x5, thats 80k hitpoints +/- in 292sec (28+38x4+28) (or less with jack of all trades)
The Secondaries are very good, maybe not with high pen' like GK, but the fires do.
Some prefer -11 mod, but the reload mod gets it down to 24.2 with 8x 457mm thats is godlike
I like the Kremlin as well..but Ohio is number 1, more utility... now lets see when i get montana..only up to NC yet^^

Montana is fun the trick is landimg those long range shots with American AP. Your shells hit hard but they stay in the air longer.

Ohio has higher fire chance on its secondary compared to Massachusetts and Goergia.

How can you even say that the lead super battleship in that particular class is lesser than the same one of the same class?!
What am I missing here? Time wasn't up. Not all ships were destroyed nor were the points at 0 or 1000 for either side. How did you win? I've seen something like this once before, where all they did was cap and they won. But how? And the points on both sides in that case were between 300 and 700 on both sides I think.

The Ohio looks like it it the best American tier 10 but that only seems to me because Montana is out of the meta (18 inch guns). American tier 10s needed an upgrade. Not sure if I should get it though because of the preussian I use
I feel like that improved damage repair just isn't necessary. I don't see why the Ohio should be able to survive a situation like the one you were in at the end of the game where a Montana would have died quite early. I also don't really know enough to make judgments though.

Can we get a buff for the mainline american BBs already? the premium & reward american BBs are all outstanding, but that just makes the power creep the mainline's suffered all the more apparent. Germans got a buff, finally, but the Americans are definitely getting left behind.

German BBs. Being outclassed in their intended role by the Soviet BBs and Ohio...Ah nice, glad I stopped grinding them
The coming dispersion buff and proposed cruiser plating and HE changes will make Germans fit a lot better in the meta. GK is still my king in damage, two thirds of my 300k+ games are in her. She's not a great ship right now, but she's solid
well, they're getting a dispersion buff soon, and Sub_Octavian has stated a secondary rework may be coming for the Germans in particular. So don't write them off just yet. they may be about to see a significant improvement.

This is the secret alternative USN Battleship line. A shame it is either P2P or a butt-ton of grinding to do

The tech tree usn bbs except montana do have a better heal than normal bbs, just not the same better heal as mass, georgia, and ohio. Those three get a 40 second cooldown with the standard 0.5% per second heal. The tech tree bbs (except montana for some reason) get 0.667% per second with a standard cooldown.
Pulling more than 3 million pot damage should be rewarded by 3k base XP on its own on a win.

I thought the Ohio was supposed to have better mid-range AA because of the 76 mm guns. I guess it can’t be better at everything.

God damn how awesome would the Montana be with Mass heals and secondaries, plus a reduced reload and quicker turret traverse. How the fuck do they add all that extra armor on the Ohio turrets and yet have more room to reload quicker, and rotate faster?

So to sum everything up that ship is as good a brawler as the germans, which are supposed to be the brawlers, doesnt have a turtleback and no Hydro but better turret, better dispersion (main and secondary) and the better heal for brawling situations.... why should on play the germans again?
Because germans can actually survive in a straight brawl.

Great ship but with secondaries raw DPM is only part of the story I'll take my GK against any Ohio in a secondary battle any day. As a full package fair enough but straight secondaries GK is still king.
Especially with the HE changes, those 128mm guns are gunna be scary

It just feels so stupid to play my Montana nowdays. I like this Ohio concept so much but honestly don't have the time to re-grind something like 5 lines? i'll just play the german steel Kurfurst. At least it has it's 'flavour' intact, inaccurate or not.
How to get the Ohio?
You gotta get 5 tier 10s, then reset a line back to tier 1, grind it out to 10. Repeat that enough times, you get enough of the currency, and you can get it from the Armory.

WG have stated that they are not adding guns bigger than or equal to Yamato's guns.

We still have no german premium above T8 in the game, some big calibre H-Class or a 300 mm Hindenburg BC would be nice. WG is making so many ships lately, i hope they bring a high tier german premium soon.

Buuut wg couldn’t give it’s original 480mm 52cal 2x4 guns because of the 460mm gun caliber limit.
@@la_potat6065 That´s right but we should be realistic 52cal would be waaay to OP, you would overmatch every Nose of any ship, espacially at close range. But the 46cal or even the 48cal with a long reload could be balanced. I hope we will get the Super GK one day.

Just got the ship, was really painful to get it and it's not as good as a Thunderer ... Ouch ! I'm really disapointed. Really not worth cancelling five tier X ships line to get the thing. Good secondaries ? It's so rare you are in range, you never use them, Main Guns are really not reliable ... Damn i feel i have been fooled by WG one more time. I'm over 120 k average with Thund, so far i never went above 100K with Ohio. Maybe it's good for clan battles, but in random .. It really sux. Because in random 1 game on 2 all team is stuck on bottom line shitting their pants, with Thunderer you can retreat and be efficient. With Ohio you cant ! I should have picked Slava ... Huge regrets.

I still believe Yamato has the best guns and with the legendary is the most reliable accuracy regardless of range.
If I saw anybody else except you and a literally like 4 other people do that to a Smolensk in smoke I'd say it was fake
German bb aim is the worst best aim ever, I killed a cruiser and because one shell decide to go 2 km up in the air, I citadeled another one and get a devastating strike and double strike

A-150 has too big guns to be introduced in the game.The rumor says WG doesn't want to go higher than the Yamato's 460mm guns. Personally, I would prefer something like a big Yoshino, with izumo guns.

I was with you all the way comparing the Ohio to montana as whats the better T10 US bb but then you compared to the Kremlin and thunderer and now you opened up the comparison.. Kremlin , thunderer , Montana , Ohio are completely different BB's meant to be played in different way's in different positions as well! I don't think they made the Ohio to be played at all like the Montana. i wouldn't play Montana on a flank ..If you put Ohio with a flanking cruiser (zao like ship) with a good spotting DD you will ez destroy any flank if all 3 are communicating and playing well together! Ohio was meant to be the final Tier to the Mass,Georgia, now Ohio line! IMO
