Slava in 2023 - Can It Still Carry?

- Haven't played the Slava in a while and decided to take some of the best guns in the game out for a spin. Can this ship still do soviet things?

Some build talk at the end as usual, we run the bog standard BB build in this game though. Heavy AP is pretty nice for this ship nowadays though.

I am convinced we need a yearly "can it still carry?" For some ships
but then it shouldnt be coming from flamu. because he can carry in anything

Vermont is stealthier with bigger guns and more of them. So more alpha and more damage. Lower reload but the shell weight and overmatch is deadly. And you can still chunk angled ships.
true but shell velocity and pen is still in slaves favor, can help it out at those mid to longer ranges. Still think Vermont is prob overall better tho
The problem with Slava these days is it is relielient on the enemy team not having figured out angling. Even then with how many below waterline/troll armour citadels there are, slaping people is not as easy as it used to be. And as always potato armour exists and that hurts Slave a lot. That said, it is still a strong pick.
That and it's harder to push into flanking positions since subs can now also shut you down.
Jumped on sea server last night, 1st game double subs, all 4 subs survived, all 4 subs top 1 and 2 xp earners on both sides.
2nd and 3rd games, exactly the same except only one sub on each side. I am not joking, I am not exaggerating this is really what happened.
So I scoured my 200 ships for something that could counter them, but i had nothing.
Normally I would play on a few more games, but after that I just logged out.
As good players do and have been doing
Only thing that sucks about the slava is it can't overmatch much, and when it's forced to push in it melts fast.
Overmatch is too overrated as WG keep having more and more overmatching guns. No longer your gun reward you for good positioning and patience but only for just playing said ship and simply just hit it while the game mechanics do the rest

Stalingrad chose suicide. He was against 2 DDs and a Napoli while being bullied by the sub and CV. Noone wants that.
I citadelled GK with Nevsky at max range
Very timely clip for me was looking at Slava buy in my last game / yesterday. Decided to wait and look up how she is doing in the current meta. Seems like there might be other options, as you really do need to work those angles. The shell time to target tho is juicy, no bias there at all of course.

The thing is, the playerbase knows overall how to angle. Yes, some do not, but I can slap those people even in a Montana. Maybe not with multiple citadels on a BB but so be it.
This is an extremely odd ask, but what is the Hizen like now? Even with big guns and gimmicks everywhere I wonder how the Japanese Montana/Colorado does.

Slava is not quite dead yet
I spent so may games shooting from minute 1 upon spotting to the end without ever making an impact. This is really a situational ship and BBs must not be situational because of their role.
Russian bias dies with the game only
any ship can carry if some of your teammates do the job like spotting when you play a BB, you cant carry 11 morons of which 5 are dead in 3 min of match
As for nowadays mera Slava is a very good choice! If you have a good experience with long range BBs then nobody can stop Slava 👍
Anything can carry in randoms but Slava sucks overall.
