    Hey Guys!
Welcome and today we're going to talk about things we did before moving to Spain and how did we prepare ourselves for this move.
It's no surprise that Spain is a popular destination for expats. There's more to it than beautiful weather, long stretches of beach, and delicious food. Moving to Spain has several advantages, including a better work life balance and a higher overall quality of life. Family, friends, socializing, and resting are all top considerations for Spaniards.
According to the latest recent figures from the Spanish government, the country has 5.6 million foreign residents. With everything Spain has to offer, from the sunny climate to the laid-back lifestyle, that number is only expected to rise, with life in Spain more enticing than ever.
You've done your job on the country you want to visit! There were a few things you had to complete before you departed. Planning a move may be a stressful experience. While some of the things you'll need in your new country may be easy to come by, others may be more difficult to get or substantially more expensive. On the other hand, because you'll be moving, you won't need most of your belongings in this country.
Before we move to Spain as an expat, we have ensured some things that are mentioned below.
▶️ Things we did before moving to Spain:
    • Learn Spanish lessons
    • Turned over business
    • Taking care of health and ensure to maintain medicine.
    • Book everything in advance.
    • Join the Facebook group of the city, which will be very helpful to know everything.
    • Stop all the subscriptions that charge credit.
    • Porting the cell phone number so that you will be able to get a call, text messages, or anything like that from any of the accounts to your existing number.
    • Sell the things that you don’t need.
We hope that these tips will very helpful for you when move to Spain as an expat from US. So, let’s enjoy the video and share your thought in the comment box.

Success to your new home and journey in Valencia. Welcome in 🇪🇺. At first 5 years it's really not easy to adjust the mentality here. But honestly they're friendly that made me strong to stay alone with my daughter. Get helped from the government and some kababayan too. I stayed almost 14 years as a Belgian citizen. I'm luckily satisfied spent the half of my life here.
    Greetings from Belgium.

You could have flown to Barcelona which was a lot closer to Valencia. Norwegian flies direct LAX-BCN. Best time to fly for cheaper rates could have been after the new year. Glad that you moved to where paella was 1st introduced. Hope you get to visit the famous farm/restaurant outside of the city that still makes the authentic paella. Enjoy and best of luck!

Nice vid We are about 2 months behind you guys. Moving to Valencia March 21st! Relate to everything you talked about but didn't know about porting numbers. Question -- were you able to fly with just your vaccine documents or did you need to get a Covid test (72 hours). I think as of Feb 1 it will be the vaccine documentation only.

    • @EverythingIsBoffo
      @EverythingIsBoffo  Před 2 lety

Sweet! We were able to fly with the vaccine documents but needed to create accounts at and download the app from spth.gob.es and complete the profile 48 hours before our arrival into Spain. This generated a QR code that we showed upon arrival.
BUT... before boarding our flight from Newark to Madrid, I almost had a heart attack when the ground attendant asked for my negative covid test, and I showed her the QR code from Spain and she insisted she needed a covid test. And then I showed her my CDC card. So weird she didn't ask for that at all!

You are in Europe now and this mentality that you need to take medicines from the US because they don’t have it in Europe. See what is the generic name of each medicine you use and that is enough.
