Iggy was a late addition to the Stardust Crusaders team in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 3, however he became an integral part of finding DIO's Mansion, and helping Polnareff defeat Vanilla Ice.
Even though Iggy sacrificed himself for Polnareff, it was not in vain.
The Fool is a Stand that seemingly takes the form of a mechanical mammalian creature, and this is how it is portrayed most of the time, however in actuality, the Stand does not manifest any particular form, purely being a Stand that grants Iggy the supernatural ability to control and reshape sand and dust in any way he deems fit.
This means Iggy can reshape sand as a group, fuse it together, recolour it, harden it and also change it's density and weight. There is even the potential that he can create a pocket dimension within the sand, but that is purely a theory I thought up. Don't hate me if it's wrong lol.
I wish we saw more of Iggy in Stardust Crusaders, but I don't think he would have come in handy very much before Egypt. I didn't dislike Iggy, but most of the time he was a bit of a brat. Though, he truly believed humans were stupid and inconvenient beings. Eventually, he learned to appreciate human life, saving Polnareff and helping the Crusaders in the end of his life.

Your pocket-dimension theory about hiding things within sand may shed light on the earlier question about Iggy summoning The Fool when there was no sand around, where the sand just kinda appeared out of nowhere
Still to this day, we don't if the stand is The Fool or the people it comes across are The Fools
Maybe the real Fool were the friends we made along the way.
I always the fool was underutilised in part 3 similarly with heirophant green and magician's red. They had potential but were only shown in a couple of fights
I feel like it was mostly due to avdol, iggy, and kakyoin being absent most of the series. I feel like out of all of the stardust crusaders, Polnareff definitely gets the most attention both plot, and stand-wise.

I like to describe "the Fool" as a light bending sand golem. As it is an elemental stand that bends light to change its current forms color and potentially texture.

I get the feeling he has a limit on the amount of sand he can control at once
Outside of killing Billy Jean and D'arby junior. What would it really do? Dio and Vanilla Ice (questionable, but he was turned vampire shortly after the crew went inside the mansion) are vampires at that point, they can easily survive being under sand until nightfall considering that Dio was at the bottom of the ocean for 100 years.
Also, Vanilla Ice can just go inside Cream and delete the sand.
Magician's Red could also burn the whole building down.
Again, a really good analysis on a apparently basic stand which proves itself to be way more cool than it seems, keep up the good work!

I really wish this stand got more attention. Its so cool! The fight with petshop was awesome, but it never really got any moments after that aside from the vanilla ice fight, which mind you, is where Iggy died.
Iggy himself was kind of insufferable, to me. But The Fool was a pretty versatile Stand, in terms of Part 3 anyway. Being effectively sand, it really could have done a lot in the hands of someone that... wasn't a dog...? Maybe that was the limitation.
I actually preferred his fight with Pet Shop over him+Polpol vs Vanilla Ice.
That scene where Iggy digs underground and you find out Pet Shop also dug underground, and Iggy see's his evil eyes glaring at him. That scene was just so frickin creepy and awesome.
@@BizarreStarPlatinum Hell yeah, it was awesome. But personally I enjoyed how mr cutter and dog struggled against vanilla ice as they try to defeat him. Although in terms of just fight, iggy vs petshop is better for me lol.

Iggy was a really cool guy, I knew him back in the day. He was a bit harsh, sure, but he was a good pal.

I like the Fool and I think it's actually one of the most powerful stands in part 3 but I didn't care for Iggy all that much. I don't hate him and I even started tearing up when he died but he felt like he was implemented just to be killed off so Araki could get a cheap tug at the readers/viewers heartstrings during the lead up to DIO. I cried when Kakyoin died because he's my favorite Crusader but for Iggy I didn't feel attached to him honestly other than the fact that he's a dog.

In the case of hiding in the stairs. I think that you're right that Iggy created a space in the stairs. However, I'd like to add to this theory. Perhaps the Dio clone was made of sand created from hollowing out said section of the stairs. Dio and Palmeraph are roughly the same size. Iggy then used a thin layer of sand to cover the two of them, just enough to hold up Vanilla should he walk on them.

I would like to say Polnareff as he had the closest friendship with him out of the 3. Joseph didn't really interact much with him and he saw Jotaro as a bit of a bully. I think he did respect them all in the end though.
