About to order the 5l vest with the intermediate bundle. I've been super impressed with all the reviews I've seen so far and this helped as well and the value is outstanding. The intermediate bundle with vest comes in about the same price as a vest alone from many other better known brands (I've sent one back that I ordered just before I heard about Harrier and my refund will actually leave me a little change). Love Kate's ethos and am always happy to support small businesses like hers - not easy to get a start up going and being a one woman show must be so, so demanding. I'm pretty sure we will hear a lot more about Harrier & Kate in the future,

The intro video is filmed on the North Coast of Cornwall, it's an epic spot!! The Salomon advance 12 set is a great pack its what I tend to use for long ultras but it's over double the price of the Harrier Kinder vest! There is a review on the channel for the Advance 12 set 👍

Great views of Cornwall Lloyd. Good to see the Harrier kit in action, £69 for carbon poles is great value! Is there anything obvious difference wise with the likes of Leki etc? Orange flags & gunfire are never a good combination 😂 It's certainly warmer down where you are, it's got a feeling of winter in the air up here with snow on some tops ❄️

Leki make great poles but no major difference in my eyes. Obviously you don't get the glove system of a Leki pole but I was impressed with the quality for the price! 👍
I normally use a Salomon carbon mountain pole that cost me £135 and I couldn't see or feel much difference 😊

Cheers for the review. I actually purchased a different vest from a well known brand - which did get positive reviews. However they sent the wrong size, and on checking the site for an exchange, they was all out of the larger sizes so I sent it back for a refund and was recommended to check out Harrier via a friend and linked to this video.
So I have just purchased the 5L vest in the beginner bundle, and with all of the kits it comes with, it still came out cheaper than the original vest I bought! I honestly thought it might be dodgy, but your review (and other places raving about it) have reassured me hugely. Looking forward to trying it out - it would be my first vest actually (I use a Naked belt, but obviously it doesn't carry much!).

I've worn a few hydration vests over the years and to be honest I love my Harrier Kinder 10K.... I bought large as I'm well known for over dressing and that extra space means I always have a waterproof in my vest... gloves, buff scarf etc etc - vest comfy and came with extra clips too

So impressed with this vest (the 10L) and the person/team behind it. So many design and material decisions to get right, getting the website optimized, and capitalizing it all. Love to see small business thrive. Kudos to Kate. Will be looking very hard at this vest (my first) as every 8L Salomon seems to have some shortcoming in comparison. Wondering if I need a bladder in addition to two 500mls as the Intermediate Bundle doesn't include one (which surprised me)? You mentioned on another video that you're not fond of bladders, so maybe it's a non-issue.
The Kinder 10L is a brilliant race vest for the money and you'd struggle to find a better one for that price point. The whole bladder thing is pretty out dated now and most people will run with bottle up front nowadays 👍
It's a lot easier to monitor your hydration, the race vest will be more balanced and easier to fill up at check points in races. So you really don't need a bladder and that's probably why it's not included in the Harrier bundle 😊

Love being able to cinch down the back if I'm travelling light or wind a rain jacket through the bungee (or whatever). Love the side pockets, too. Not many of the Salomon's offer that. Cheers.

Hi Loyd, I am curious to know if you will be doing a standalone review and scoring of the Harrier race vest? You say you are "super impressed", but notice on another recent video or instagram post that you are still using the Salomon. I guess what I am asking is what does the Harrier vest need to do, or where is it lacking, that results in you still opting for your Salomon? I am sure your other followers will have the same question. Keep up the amazing work, avid follower of the channel and absolutely love Cornwall.

I'm definitely super impressed with the Harrier trail running kit and vest I tested. For the price point I don't think you can beat the Harrier vests for quality, functionality and comfort! Obviously if you watch my other reviews you'll see I'm also a massive fan of the latest version of the Salomon Advance 12 set 😊
I've already been asked this question a few times and I think it's unfair to judge a running vest that's under half the price and that hasn't gone through several years of development against the Salomon vest. What I would say is if you've got a Salomon 12 set already do you need a Harrier vest, probably not. But if you're in the market for a running vest and your choosing between the Salomon 12 set and the Harrier Kinder 10ltr, I'd go for the Harrier vest and save yourself £65!

Ha ha ha cant believe the odds, have been planning to run this route myself, had the maps the last couple.of days. Any race organisers out there had an concept for an 100mile epic the "saints and sinners". Go out a sinner on the smugglers way and loop round and come back repetitive on the saints way. Would be brutal but a gert lush race!
Its a great route Ed! The navigation can be a bit challenging but it's worth the effort 😊
I ran the UTS 100 years ago and we had to run the route the other way, Looe to Boscastle and most of it was at night 😲

I really think comparing the Harrier vest against the "double" the price Salomon vest isn't really fair. Also for the Salomon advance 12 set (which I love) to get to where it is today has had 5 or 6 versions! This Kinder 10ltr vest is Harriers first version so if I had to choose from the first ever Salomon Advance vest and the Harrier vest, I'd choose the Harrier vest everytime 👍

To carry the poles do I need to buy the carrier system? Or does it come with the bag?
It doesn't come with a bag but it's got bungee loops for your poles 👍

How tall are you? How tall are the poles?
I'm 6ft 1" and the poles I was using were the long poles from Harrier. They come in two lenght, regular and long. The pole have a bit of adjustment so I had them set at 125cm that tends to be about right for my height 👍
