    Great video! How well does the headset paired to bike work with mesh on group riding? I worry being paired to the bike will make it more complicated than it already is.

    When you turn off the daytime running light, I believe you'll get dipped beam, not main beam. As you mentioned, it does say in the manual that the DRL is not a substitute for the low beam in poor visibility, such as rain or fog, so you need to manually turn the DRL off if visibility gets bad, as that's the only way (AFAIK) to force the headlight dip beam to come on.
    The only time I've ridden as it got dark, the sensor that automatically turns off the DRL and puts the headlight on left it too late for my liking, as it was almost completely dark and every other vehicle had headlights on, except me still running on DRL. I almost chickened out and manually turned the DRL off, but I wanted to see whether it would ever work and eventually it did and the headlight came on, but I wouldn't wait that long in future, I'd just turn the DRL off manually if it happens again. Oddly, the sensor that changes the dash to the night colour scheme seems to trigger much earlier, even sometimes in quite bright conditions, so it doesn't appear to be the same sensor that's used for the DRL, either that or the firmware is processing the signal differently in each case.

    I wish KTM would have made the Super Duke R's dash as customize able as the GT version.

      I bought a 2019 Super Duke GT early July, commuting in town during summer i was averaging 6L/100KM, and highway ride i was getting 5.5L/100KM.
      Now that weather is cold in Toronto (Canada) i cannot get better than 7.2L/100Km, very thirsty bike !

    Easy to pair phone and helmet headset to the TFT Dashboard. Unfortunately my LC8 Dashboard has Alzheimer’s and once the ignition is switched off it forgets and unpairs itself. Thus if you want to use connected features you have repeat both pairing procedures every time you turn the bike back on. KTM are working on a fix. I’m not holding my breath.
    I’m pretty sure the DRL is on with the Dipped head light. If it’s switched on in the LC8 it’s the DRL only,

    Liels paldies par video. Janis, could you please be so kind and try to explain your experience with the quickshifter? I took the same gt (and the same colour) couple of weeks ago and the quickshifter was destroying the whole riding experience with this beautiful machine. On my testing machine it's been bulky, kind of agricultural sometimes making clunky noise inside the gearbox and the following kick on the ass. So quickshifter didn't allow smooth speed change almost on any level of throttle opening. Please explain what you feel.
    Secondly, how would you describe the feeling of damping settings between comfort and sport. Honestly, I barely could notice the difference. Was my bike broken? :D

    • @JanisStrelkovs
      @JanisStrelkovs  Před 5 lety +1

      Quite honestly I completely agree with you with the QS feeling very clunky and agricultural. I sometimes even miss shifts. However I did have the shift position sensor re-calibrated by my dealer and it did make it better. So something to consider asking your dealer to do.

      It definitely keeps your bum hole hot 😂

    • @petem7156
      @petem7156 Před 5 lety

      Very well. With thick gore-tex pants and a good base layer underneath, even on a cold day I wasn't able to use full heat for very long as it started to get uncomfortably hot. I guess if you had even thicker clothing on then full heat would be good as you'd be more insulated from the seat, but for me the lowest setting is really noticeably warm and the middle setting is toasty. Surprising how much difference it makes, even if your upper body isn't particularly warm - I didn't wear enough layers under my jacket last time out but when I started feeling the chill, putting the seat heater on made me feel warmer overall.

    • @petem7156
      @petem7156 Před 5 lety +1

      Did you try adjusting the angle of the dash itself, using the little clamp behind it? I've found that quite useful for moving the dash to avoid reflections when you're riding.

    Hi Janis, In the "Service" screen, can you actually set the next Service Millage and Date ?
    at 1000km the yellow "Service" warning just came on for my 2019 Super Duke GT, i did change oil and oil filter, but I am usable to update Service interval mileage/date, holding Up&Down arrow keys not doing it.
    The yellow "Service" warning is not going away, i'm afraid i have to take the bike to KTM to reset service interval, that sucks.

    • @JanisStrelkovs
      @JanisStrelkovs  Před 4 lety +1

      You can’t update these yourself. It has to be done by a dealer. Just a word of eating not having your service completed by a authorised KTM will void your warranty.

    • @siamakdehmasi
      @siamakdehmasi Před 4 lety +1

      @@JanisStrelkovs I figured out how to reset next service mileage and date, i did it today.
      - press SET, just highlight (don't get to it) "SETTINGS", and when "SETTINGS" highlighted press UP and DOWN arrow keys
      that will take you to "Next Service miles" and "Next Service Date" screen and you will be able to modify them.

    whats the difference between LOAD and DAMPING?

    • @JanisStrelkovs
      @JanisStrelkovs  Před 3 lety +1

      I'm always happy to mention problems with a bike I own, but in all honesty I'd be struggling to find anything to complain about with mine, after 1,200 miles. Comfortable for long distances, e.g. 500 miles in a day, great fun to ride, feels even lighter than it actually is, decent tank range (getting up towards 200 miles depending on how you're riding), great brakes, and of course the engine is just incredible. I guess the only thing left is reliability, but only time will tell on that one.
      Having said that, mine is currently showing the air temperature as 69C when it's really about 10C, but that's not really causing me any problems and it will be getting fixed under warranty. The only other problem I've had so far is with the panniers, where they've had to replace the original lock barrels because the key wouldn't come out with the carry handle up (which it's meant to), but it works fine with the new lock barrels they put in.
      One thing to watch out for, which isn't a problem with the bike itself, is to make sure they disable the Transport Lock during the PDI (it's just a software setting that you need their diagnostic machine to alter). If they don't disable it, after 100 miles the bike will lock out - it will keep running till you stop, but the next time you turn it off and on again after that, the bike will refuse to start, so just hope it doesn't happen when you're in the middle of nowhere. Don't ask how I know about this! I believe several of the KTM models now come with the Transport Lock enabled from the factory to make life difficult for thieves if the bike is stolen in transit. Shouldn't be a problem, so long as the dealer remembers to disable it before you get the bike!

  • @22995555

    I have given a thumbs down only because you can’t read the dash as it’s too bright, probably best to redo it in a darker environment where it turns to Black & White, otherwise thank you.
