i'm wondering how is it legal to literally say out in the open that you will ignore all evidence because the one who is being tried is telling you what to say and do. when you have the power to end the trial.
That's literally like a courtroom jury being filled with murders and the murder that's on trial orders them to say that he is innocent.
Impeachment isn't a judicial process it's purely political. Even if Trump is removed from office he will just be able to go home to his house unless someone wanted to take him up on those crimes. So all decisions are led up to the jury whether they are impartial or not there's no one to weed out partial vs. Impartial because they were democratically elected.

Daniel Beauchamp well it shouldn’t. Certainly wasn’t when I became a journalist. Journalists offer guests opportunity to tell their story by answering questions. If they refuse to answer questions, what’s the point? The story becomes they didn’t choose to answer questions.
Everyone have the right to pleed the fifth in court, exactly how do you think that media somehow have rights that the legal system doesn't?.. You say it as if the journalists are doing their guests a favour, but truth is that it's quite often the other way around.
Journalists are usually meassured as to how many viewers they might attract and this endorces sensationalism..
In the world of politics (and debates) where popularity and extreme views are rewarded there are a lot of reasons to ask what is called "false questions".. (A good example is a police detective asking a suspect "have you stopped beating your wife?".. on the surface it's a yes or no question, but if people aren't allowed to reject the question and not answer it, and they'll be FORCED to make a specific answer to a question the way it was asked, then they will be forced to give a yes or no answer, and BOTH means that they have been beating their wife)..
What you might be thinking of was before journalists started intentionally sport an agenda of their own, when press ethics actually means something. Often guests agree to come on an interview BUT also say that they have no intention to discuss specific hot button issues (for various reasons ESPECIALLY if there are legal implications involved and that the actual situation SHOULD be resolved before making any statement about specifics on an ongoing investigation and so on.. a LOT of journalists say that this is not a problem and STILL try to put the person in the "hot chair" by asking things they already from the get-go KNOW is bad questioning that have no real news-value what so ever..they WANT to be able to say that someone agreed to an interview, but were "reluctant" simply because it makes good TV.. good TV, NOT good news.
The idea that guests owe to answer questions is ridiculous on all levels.

Given his lifestyle my guess is he has occlusions in his arteries, but hasn't had an actual stroke yet...meaning I wouldn't be surprised if the blood flow to his brain is impeded somewhat, but not to the point where cells start dying, they just may be getting under-served. But who knows? Still, I wouldn't be surprised if he did stroke sooner than later, but when you actually start having mini-strokes it gets more obvious than that, at least in my experience.
