  • Hey Guys!
    Welcome back to another episode of Missflips! In today’s episode, I am participating in the ugly duckling challenge hosted by Cory over at Desert DIY. In this challenge, we have to find an ugly piece of furniture and turn it into something beautiful. However, because it is the season of giving, we also are encouraged to donate our earnings or the piece itself to someone in need.
    Since this is a commissioned piece, I will be donating my earnings to my local community here in Atlanta.
    Thank you so much for watching and I hope you enjoyed this video!
    As usual, stay flippin!

    Without the natural wood left on this big desk, it would have looked a little bland. Just the right move, and the end result is an upscaled looking desk you pass on to your kids as a keeper. Bravo!

    can confirm how amazing a paint sprayer is. i needed to paint the interior/exterior of a commercial space i was renting, and the lowest quote i got was $1800 (for less than 500sqft) and i was still going to have to supply the paint. i bought a sprayer off of Amazon for $125 and did the whole thing myself. well worth the money.

    It looks beautiful! I have found that if you sand wood above 180 grit that it will not accept stain well. So if you know you are going to sand I wouldn't go to a high grit. Have a Merry Christmas!

    • @TheMissFlips

      @MissFlips I understand no one wants to deal with those. I find that you don't go up more than 60 grit at a time you can avoid those lines. Like 80-120-180 should work. I enjoy your work very beautiful. Merry Christmas!

    • @TheMissFlips
      @TheMissFlips  Před rokem +1

      I mean, technically, yes. However, the amount of canned spray paint that you would need would not only be terrible for the environment but it would also probably be super expensive to the point where you might as well just buy a paint sprayer. There are some pretty affordable ones on Amazon. But if you can’t afford either, I completely understand and you’re probably better off going the old fashioned hand painted rout
