The pier that you found that you were looking for five years Dr. Laurie had just mentioned about a piece last night that she had seen and some other shop up in New England state somewhere there on her show last night I think you’re you’re very well educated on your knowledge on antiques I’ve done antiques most of my life, and You’re very very well knowledgeable on stuff. I was more into the furniture and the but I did it also for myself.. but I think you got a lot of nice deals. I just can’t believe the price and how much things have gone up. I'm not a reseller. I'm 69 so a lot of the things you collected came from my youth. I am very impressed with your education of the pieces. I recognized many items from my past and had to laugh at the value. FYI the see through frog was used as a soap or sponge holder by a sink. To be honest I aways thought those frog or owl porcelain pieces were ugly decorative items. But for years I kept the 'made in China' pieces my mother had received with flowers in them after giving birth. My mother would have said the same thing, so I understand the draw. In my youth I was a potter. I really love that you placed high value on the artists and their work. I thoroughly enjoyed your video. I've been decluttering because I've downsized to a very small space, but those collectable items draw me in. I wish I had been a reseller of vintage items. Thank you for the fun ride.

It would be really valuable to do a follow-up video with the actual realized profit (money in hand), I love these videos and watch many other thrifters too, but I suspect many are also aspirational figures of anticipated profits; yes, these are the prices at Amazon, etc. but how much do people really fork over? To keep it real, it would be great if those who do these videos do a follow-up where they compare what the hoped-for profit was and what the actual one is, if that makes sense. I know I'd love to see that. You have a great eye and congrats on all of the great finds

Yup! You hit the nail on the head. I am also a seller and to get that kind of actual figure takes a lot of time. The actual profit on the investment may take days, weeks, months, even a year to see (that is if it even sells)..so I'm sure these figurative values are "expected returns" and not "made in 1 day" The turn-around time to sell these things vary..Not to mention the amount of labor put in

Projected profit VS actual profit are totally different. Please include the WoW price and the đŸ˜© price. Then you would really be the coach to others you wish to be. Otherwise you are just advertising yourself. Thank you 🙏

Other things I buy at normal retail stores on sale. Seasonal sales are good...but most of the time then I need to store them. They sell faster online so I have to think small for storage. Although that didn't sell WELL in the warm climate it sells well in my much harsher northern sub- Artic climate.
Understanding yrenfs is also important. Many families are going to minimized life styles. unnike a decade ago when clutter was selling. In this instance ( now) only highly collectibles were selling. Also highly usable items sell well such as housewares. High quality housewares such as stainless steel items. Sell well.
Walmart USED to have great sales...now not so much. I like to make ate least 4-5xs my investment. $4.00 =$20 sales. I adjust that according to the venue I am selling from. Some have more backroom costs. So I can adjust my costs to make a profit. For example, on classy sights I will sell jewelry in a jewelry box., others I send out items wrapped in a small bubble wrap with a postal envelope.
In my area I get many collectibles free by " curb shopping" or "rummage sales"
Don't ignore poorer neighborhoods. Many times the " minimalistic children" throw out many " valuable collectable" items.
I found London fog suitcase. It was stained from use. I washed it, put a scotch guard on the outside, and sold a $150. LIKE NEW item for $90. I sterilized it AND THEY PAID SHIPPING.
MY BIGGEST PROBLEM IS GETTING AND HAVING TOO MUCH STUFF TO SELL. I AM 68.

There are tons of platforms where a reseller could list their items, but as far as I can tell they all have their pros and cons. I don’t necessarily know how to make my listings stand out or how to best determine a reasonable, but still profitable listing price. I definitely have a lot to learn but there’s so many thrift stores in my area and I’m really hoping to turn reselling into my side income. It gives the phone strong power on the go. The only thing is to use a short power cable so that you don’t have all that extra cable hanging around. This was fun to watch ! Smart girl who has a pleasant personality! The funniest thing was you trying to get the bottom of the vase opened to find a treasure !!! We didn’t get a good look at that gorgeous piece of glue you found ! Lol

I love seeing your finds. I’m shying away from breakables. But I get empty boxes from the liquor store with the cardboard dividers and keep one in the car, just in case.

I love watching these types of videos. The only thing is that our goodwills are nothing but unspellable crap. They have one wall of glass and pots and pans. That’s all they have. I have never found anything there. However I don’t give up. It will happen eventually. Love the great information you share. Glad I found your channel. ❀

Wow, loved watching all 11 Goodwills and other Thrift stores. Im just starting selling my Vintage treasures. For rhe last almost 30 yrars Ive gone thrifting, accumulated so much. Ive had yard sales, sold at Flea markets and now finally started on Ebay and want to start You Tube. I know I have to be patient, but watching you and others guves me the confidence. And yes definately do the design episode. I, also was in Real Estate for last 7 years. Did some staging and took Interior design years ago, so I love that too!!❀❀

Greetings Laura! I'm Derek, an Oregonian with a house full of 50+ years of collecting and gathering thrift store finds. Everything from coins and jewelry to life size blow up NASCAR inflatables, Breweriana, tins, 1990's sports and non-sports cards, oil lamps, etc. Eventually I need to sell it all and I thought this looked like the place to begin learning what I could.
I was also wondering if you may be related to a Brice or a Charles Caldwell, owners of a grocery store in the 1990s where I worked.

The large speckled vase at 29:35 is a wine cooler by Robert Weiss. I just found one on the weekend and the bottom is signed Weiss ‘77 Pat. Pending USA. Yours looks like it was a prototype. Mine is all ceramic. And later ones are embossed on the bottom not hand signed like mine.

Fun finds. Friendly FYI: an ashtray usually has a little ledge somewhere around the edge of the piece to rest the cigarette/cigar upon....the owl didn't have that so probably wasn't originally intended as an ash tray. Also, is your Mexican silver bracelet stamped inside? Otherwise it may be nickel silver, which contains no silver. The purple swivel chair looks similar to one World Market carries.

I used to do thrift shop buying and also went to the Rose Bowl when they had their flea markets. Also estate sales. I found so many good buys and made a lot of money selling vintage jewelry on Ebay. I still have a lot of the jewelry I purchased but now that I’m retired I don’t wear much anymore. It was a lot of fun while it lasted.

I'm a year and some months into reselling, so I'm miles away from getting full retail value for my picks. What a haul in this episode! Yes, I definitely would have been drawn to so many of your finds, I just can't afford so many of them yet. I've learned so much following you. And what struck me today was that white bisque looking vase. I never would have given it a second look. Your knowledge is invaluable. Love your channel ❀

I saw you pass up a picture of the Beatles for your husband at a Goodwill. I was an iconic photo of their FIRST appearance in the US on the Ed.Sullivan Show. It was where they were introduced to North America. One of the dudes was Ed Sullivan and I think the other guy is their manager.

It was certainly interesting, thank you. You obviously have a good eye, and it was good to hear you point out that it's taken you a long time to build your business and get where you are now, which is rarely mentioned by other folks.
Having said that, it's not really fair to say that you 'made' that much profit because those prices you listed are simply what you hope/d to sell the items for, and you also didn't mention or deduct all the other costs of doing business. Anyway, I'm still very curious - How many of the items you bought have sold now, and for how much?
