Aw! Their first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show! Ed was always introducing new performers to the world. đ
Her not knowing shows the age difference lol
Yes, an iconic night. Introduced by Ed Sullivan.
I thought Ed Sullivan, but I zoomed in and it is not Ed Sullivan.
I couldn't figure out who they were.I think maybe agents.
Hi Bri! Katherine Young's Mom here! Three Dudes!!! I just yelped when Laura said that! Gives away our age for sure!!! I had two older sisters. And I remember that very show!!!
German Sheppard
That was Ed Sullivan! They did their first show in AMERICA on his show! Anyone who wanted or was anyone, went on the Ed Sullivan show.
And I remember my parents talking about how long their hair was. đ
And I watched it
AhâŠthese youngsters just donât knowâŠ
It was Jan 1964 just after Kennedy assasination
Oh Laura, you didnât know Ed Sullivan, you passed on a good Beatles find!!
I was going to tell youâŠthat was Ed Sullivan and you had a piece of history as that was their first American appearanceâŠbut 21 people beat me to it. LOL Apparently your CZcams audience has some age on you! đ€Ł
Yes, I am older too and loved the Ed Sullivan show. I would know his voice without even seeing him. I watched this program all the time!!
That's what I was going to say too. He was a huge deal back in the day. American TV!
I saw that as I remember when they 1st appeared on the Ed Sullivan show..
@@suzannelawson9215 All of America watched...Sunday evenings. Back when life was good.
@@suzannelawson9215 We have a really big shew tonight.
"I don't know who those two dudes are in it though." That was a great find and you blew it, gonna tell your husband on you. đđ
Haha he watched it! đ€Ł
Ed Sullivan, they premiered their first concert on his show here in the states, I watched that actual debut, but there are many of these about so no worries
@@mariemccorry5405 Thats before- way before- my time and that comment made me feel old! lol.

Could be an original? We'll never know.
Get a shelter dog. They are so appreciative and loving. And you save a life! â€ïž
Yes! Please!
Great advice Letti..
To be fair to dog breeders like myself I am ethical and I value my dogs as my pets before my breeding dogs but I do have breeding dogs and I Health test my dogs not everybody wants an unhealthy dog that they don't know anything about their personality so adopt shop it really doesn't matter as long as you love dogs I do encourage adoption and we do have adoptions ourselves three non purebreds that we adopted but you should not tell people to adopt and not shop because there is a reason people like me breed I'm trying to save my breed number one and I'm trying to produce amazing healthy dogs some of us are actually ethical so please don't put us all down
That guy in the photo was Ed Sullivan. You are young! That was the first time I saw the Beatles. I was in grade school and Iâm 65. Go back for that photo. That was the first time on US tv.
Omg that was Ed Sullivanâs show. The first Beetles show in America. You passed up a good find.
I was thinking the same thing. Oh no Laura, you should have got it!
My brain was screaming "GET IT! That was a historical moment for The Beatles and TV."
She just didnt know đą
I was dying when she said âI am going to leave it hereâ I am not from that era but I knew that. đ I love EVERYTHING you discover and that is crazy. lol since your first CZcamsâs you have grown so much as a designer and thrifter. âŁïž
Was it an original photo?
That dude is Ed Sullivan. The show they first appeared on.
It makes me feel sad to see Rock history fading into the sunset. Sigh. I guess Ed Sullivan wonât be critical information in light of a pandemic. But he changed the world, as did those Beatles performances on his show.
In the US, they had appeared in the BBC in the UK before
The second man in the Beatles photo looks like Brian Epstein, their manager at that time. He discovered the Beatles in 1961 at a lunchtime concert at the Cavern Club in Liverpool.
I believe you are right. And it seems to be a pic that's not very popular, so may be valuable.
@@ohioitis200 I think itâs Vince Calendra, their production assistant on the show.
good call. Used to watch Ed Sullivan every Sunday night.
That guy is too old looking to be Brian Epstein and he doesnât look like Brian.
I volunteer at the Oregon Humane Society. We always seem to have several huskies and German shepherds so check it out. Maybe you could rescue your new best friend.
Adopt donât shop!
OMG, I knew the second I saw the Beatles photo that it was famous Ed Sullivan. Oh my gosh, I grew up with this show and watched the Beatles when the Beatles were on the show. I was about 12 or 13 and watched The Ed Sullivan show EVERY Sunday night! It was a very, very well known program and everyone knew who Ed Sullivan was and knew his voice anywhere! I would have grabbed that photo fast! Even little kids 7 and 8 watched his program. Actually, I have met people in their 40's and 50's and know about Ed Sullivan show. It was on the air for years and years.
An extremely popular show!
Lol,,Ed Sullivan. The very first performance of the Beatles.... Kiddo!! Xoxo
Collective gasp at the, "I don't know who these two dudes are", remark! Thanks for the laugh, Laura! You're the cutest and made me feel old!! LOL!
Yes, a very candid photo!
Yes I couldnât believe when I saw that! Someone watching is going to call them up and snag that!
The guy closest to the band is Ed Sullivan. It was his show that brought the Beatles to the U.S.. I saw the same photo, in a better frame with the band's signatures that was selling for $395. Not sure about the other fellow, probably another act that night that didn't get to perform.
Such a classic night when the Beatles debuted on the Ed Sullivan show!! I was dying when you didn't take it! đ
The first performance of the Beatles on âThe Ed Sullivan Showâ. A variety show, I believe they were on that very popular show in 1963. Not sure who the other guy is?
1964
Yes, the man in the bottom corner shaking hands (the one on the right) is definitely Ed Sullivan! I would assume this picture is when the Beatles were on the Ed Sullivan Show. I just Googled this and it looks like they were on his show 4 different times.

Laura, if you can get a rescue husky it'll be the best buddy you'll ever need or want. They are soft, loyal and amazingly beautiful. I am so amazed with your finds as usual. And your new backyard is gorgeous. I am extremely inspired by your vocation, your gift for finding all the wonderful things you do and the aesthetic that you have. What a talent!
I so agree we had a husky for 17 years !! She was the sweetest dog and very healthy also.
Ah Laura you walked right by an amazing Hockney print at Habitat!! My roommate and I were screaming when you glanced right over it!
Your backyard is like a piece of heaven...so magical and peaceful ...a place you could easily relax and forget about this crazy world . so happy you guys found your dream home.
I agree, like their own little magical forest. đ„°
Wow, that was Ed Sullivan! I'm not that old but if your husband is into the Beatles that would of been a good piece to get him. Too bad you past it up!
I hope the hubs don't watch the vid's!
Gurl! That's Ed Sullivan, as in the Ed Sullivan Show when they made their American TV debut! What a great shot!
Had a good little chuckle over that "dude" Ed Sullivan
Laura you have such a great voice over voice. I truly enjoy watching and hearing you. I feel like Iâm there with you. đ
Your smiling face makes my day! Love your enthusiasm, positivity, and humility. I'm mapping your journey in my thrifted Rand McNally Vintage Atlas, lol, and am really enjoying this adventure!
that dude was Ed Sullivan where the Beatles started inUSA, laughed so hard when you called hiim some dude
Laura, your youth had me laughing when you commented on the Beetles photo that you had no idea who those âother two guys are,â. That was Ed Sullivan and they were playing on the Ed Sullivan show.. one of their first exposures to America. Kind of an iconic moment. Ask Jesse, if heâs a big. Beetles fan, heâll know.
Laura should have done some research before putting back the awesome pic of The Beatles, or have called her hubby about it. If he's a big fan of The Beatles he would have known that was something she shouldn't have passed up.
I have to say, you are the best at videography of your thrifting trips. I feel like Iâm right there with you! The current situation has left many of us home all day unable to travel and watching you tube videos of thrifting. Iâve watched A LOT and you are the absolute best. I love the scenic shots and hope you do many more. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Laura you have definitely made me add Oregon to my bucket list! So beautiful.
I felt like I was watching a travel show this was so good! I could totally see you on TV!
Ed Sullivan!!!! Yes, we are of that generation who commented. Enjoyed the beautiful scenery! What a fun trip!
I almost swallowed my tongue...."I don't know who those other dudes are, so even though it is a candid shot, I'm gonna put it back...." ARE YOU SERIOUS?!!!?! That's like the ultimate unicorn photo of the Beatles' premier on ED SULLIVAN! GO BACK! GO BACK!!
I almost did the same thing.......I could not believe my ears!
I would have snapped the photo of The Beatles. That's part of history and my era. I grew up in the 60s.
A Norwegian Elkhound is the perfect dog for you! We had our "Mitsy" for years and she was the most beautiful, gentle, smart dog breed to be found. Her wolf appearance was amazing. A fantastic addition to anyone's family. Congratulations on your new home!
Wishing both you and your husband a long happy life in your new home. From a viewer in Australia.
I can't take my eyes off of your ring an cuff! đ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
Do you want to know why I follow you ? Well you have so much knowledge about the items you have. Your videos just draw me in to watch you. I am so happy you have the keys to your house and wishing you much happiness there. Much love from Scotland xx
My advice would be to rescue a dog and not buy a purebred. There are way too many dogs that need homes! I don't believe in buying animals when so many are being euthanized.
My advice is buy a well- bred dog from a responsible, reputable breeder. Pay the extra money for a dog who will be well behaved, healthy, and had a good start in life.
What terrific advice! If I could Iâd do the same!
The Asher house rescue is in Oregon
I agree 1000%! All four of my sweet pups are rescues. One of which is a senior dog that I wish more people adopted. They need love and nurturing in their final years of life. Theyâre so deserving of it.
Shocking, considering this is a buy second hand vintage channel. I was floored when she said that. Lol.
Laura I live halfway around the world. It never ceases to amaze me how people who are so different in every way imaginable manage to have so much in common. No one in my family cares for mid century stuff the way I do ! Your finds are an absolute delight!! X
What an epic stop at that store! Those chairs! Mercy, what a score! Well done, Laura.
Check with the city building permit department. They might have the building plans for your house that had to be submitted for the building permit.
Laura, I simply love you and Iâm so happy for you! *squeals of delight and many tight hugs*
That purse was epic! Good find. Try to get Back to that Goodwill for the Beatles picture.
I agree with you, home is where the heart is. Iâve been helping my elderly pack rat uncle with his rental cottage. Itâs looking nice, I transformed his kitchen a few days ago and he became so excited that today for the first time đ„° I saw him organizing his spare catch all room. He was so excited and called me to the room to show me how heâs been organizing and getting rid of stuff he doesnât need. Yay! He kept staring at his kitchen and says he loves it. I bought him a lot of cute placemats and wall paper from dollar tree and my dad bought him two cute wrought iron baskets at goodwill you would never think it was affordable because it looks fancy and beautiful. đđđŒ
Good grief oh mighty Good will is getting expensive. "Boutique" or not, they still get the stuff for free. How much was the belt bag and the colorful vase? You found some great finds for 20.00!!!! Good for you! That was so much fun going with you!đ„° Can't wait for the next trip!
Even donated goods need sorting, storing, display, sales people, trucks, etc. The cost just to open the store has to be covered, then the profit is for helping people in need. If you don't like to pay for donated goods. Shop elsewhere. And yes, I volunteer in a thrift
@@wendymorrison5803 the CEO makes $900,000/yearđ€

No oooo this was their first performance in America on the iconic Ed Sullivan show!!!!!!!
I just wanted to let you know that I so appreciate your sharing your adventures. I wait each week because you bring me so much joy.
Iâm excited youâll be getting a dog! Remember, they shed. A lot. Especially the type youâre seeking. Some people forget to take that into consideration and donât realize the work involved in keeping everything clean. I have 2 German Shedders (shepherds- LOL) and itâs CRAZY! We can vacuum, then an hour later, need to vacuum again. It permeates everything; clothing, cars, corners, stairwells, furniture, food, even ceiling fans. But Iâd rather have my dawgs than a perfectly clean home. Just giving you a heads up in case you hadnât thought of it. â€ïž
Yes - sooooo true!
OMG that last thrift store and those chairs!!! And the price!!! Great finds! BTW, you should have picked up that beetles picture! That was their debut on the Ed Sullivan show back in the 60's!
Agree!! I was like WHAT!! You passing on that??! đ
Definitely a German Shepherd! Most intelligent and talking about being a family member? They are the best.
That picture was the Beatles first television appearance in the USA on the Ed Sullivan Show, a variety show. It was two days after their first concert in the USA in Washington D.C. in Feb. of 1964. I remember my parents debating if us kids would be allowed to watch them on tv because they could be a bad influence lmao. We were allowed to watch them and I remember my dad walking out of the room because they had long hair lol, isn't that wild?? To this day i still listen to their music, its timeless! That was a great photo!
I write this even before watching this because I look forward to this little piece of joy each time. Thank you.
Thanks for joining me! â€ïžâ€ïž
German Shepherd. They are The best!!
We see many of them on our park walks and have had several friends with them. I wonder if I can even rescue a rejected service dog? đ€
The man on the right was Ed Sullivan. He had a variety show on Sunday nights. He introduced many new talents to the world. Before the internet, tv was the way people became known. This was where The Beatles made their debut! The man on the left, I believe, was The Beatles manager, Brian Epstein.
A pan pipe. The manager in,the picture with the beatles.
I've had a rough three weeks and so look forward to being cheered up by your videos! You are a ray of sunshine. The picture of the Beatles was of their performance on the Ed Sullivan show. He was in the picture. That was on their 1st visit to the US. That might have been an important picture - not sure you should have passed on it.

I truly enjoy watching you & your adventures!! Re getting a Husky, theyâre great dogs but theyâre a lot of work. My daughter got her pure Husky at a rescue & while we love him, heâs changed our lives. He needs to be walked a lot. He has a lot of energy & loves pulling my teen grandson on his skateboard. But he often gets the zoomies. He likes to dig & has ruined a sofa & chair. Heâs very possessive & protective of people & food. Heâs bitten each of us & my 2 bites have left scars on my thumb & deformed it. Heâs also gives a lot of love & loves to cuddle with us. Heâs very smart & has learned many tricks in just a day. Heâs a lot of fun & his vocalizations are hilarious. He canât be left alone without being crated. They have undercoats & they shed everywhere & need to be brushed a lot. So just know Huskies are great but they need lots & lots of time & attention. My daughter says Zuri is like having a toddler!! So just do your research before getting a Husky. He had been surrendered a couple of times. We love him but he is definitely a lot more work than we expected!! Good luck!! Carol

What? You donât know Ed Sullivan?

You are forgiven. We old farts will keep you informed.
Yep. the Ed Sullivan Show - I believe he was a New York journalist and had a variety show on TV at that time. 1964 - Beatle's first trip to the US and the first time most American's saw the Beatles on TV while they were in America. It may have been a live performance - I'm not sure. I was a college student at the time and working evenings at a hospital in Maryland. One of the interns invited me to watch the show on the TV in the Doctor's lounge. I won't ever forget watching that show and seeing the Beatles. Have really been enjoying your thrifting trip down the coast of Oregon. Love your finds!!!!
