The strange thing about people who make mean comments is that it fits so well with the old saying, “misery loves company” meaning they WANT others to feel their same misery. So sad! Prayers for ALL miserable folks.
Curious, but who said something mean?
Laura: I can’t buy another thing, the car is full. Laura: Buys five more things. Laura: The car is packed, I can’t by another thing. Laura: Buys 7 more things. Laura: there’s no room, I can’t buy another thing. Laura: Buys four more things. 😂
You are the master packer/stuffer! Can’t wait to see what you bring to the Left Coast Flea, I’ll see you there!
🤣🤣🤣 See you there!
hahahaha. Isn't that the way with addicts ;) And what a wonderful addiction this is. At least she can part with it and sell some to some lucky people!
In 7:47 there was a row of purple hens any chance they could be available?
The metal cat makes me think of butter molds.
I think Laura's vehicle must be like Hermione Granger's bottomless bag! Such a fun trip - and totally looking forward to the haul video.
I appreciate the pace at which you move the camera and describe items - thank you for a calm voice.
I am so old I told my husband it's fun to watch these people shopping for mid-century modern and a lot of things everybody picks up. I say we used to have one of those. We were married in 1971.
You wanna feel OLD ? how bout when these "youngsters" that go hunting for REALLY REALLY OLD TOYS - and it's Ninja Turtles and Strawberry Shortcake dolls As if 1989 was 100 years ago ! LOL I was only in 4th grade in 1971.
I was married in 1966 and I am the same, when my husband and I were on holiday a few years ago we went to a museum and the things we saw in there that we used to have makes you feel really old.
I'll be watching for when you find the perfect chess set. It's out there because my family had one in the 70's. Its ceramic with critters. I learned to play with a turtle that moves slow and straight, a butterfly that flew on a diagonal, a frog that jumps forward and across, and the little worms inched forward one at a time. The king and queen were of course birds. It was lovely, and all set up on mushroom stamped squares. Very, very mcm. It's out there somewhere and I hope I find it, and if I don't I hope I watch you find it.
You just helped me yet again get through my hated morning dishes! Your videos are astoundingly good Laura AND you are so tactful in your narration about items and venues. Other CZcamsrs are not. It goes a long way to be positive and kind. Not negative and dismissive. Blessings on your Left Coast Flea🕊️
I giggled throughout this video every time you would say "My car is full" and then find more and more treasures that you knew you would find a way to squeeze in. It reminded me of when you are somewhere enjoying amazing food and although you are sooo full already, you keep having "just one more" because it's just that good! :)!
Put a piece of Turquoise to replace the missing wooden piece in the Wooden Sculpture Wall Hanging. I work at a Clock Shop in NM and I fix lots of those Wooden Slab Wall Clocks with Turquoise for the numbers. Those clocks are from the 1970s. That piece you found reminds me of the clocks! (smile)
I use one part water to one part white vinegar on my cast iron pans. I let them soak (if they are bad) for at least 30 minutes & then use a wire brush to scrub the rust off. This way is non- toxic & it really works! 😊
Thanks!
Yea! Thank you for that tip. I currently have a piece that needs work. 😊😊😊
Oxi White "Revive" will remove those stains on vintage linens. Make sure it's Revive you are buying. If you have a Soak feature on your washer. Add the reccomended amout of yhe powder, use hot water, add your linens and let them soak. Once done the stains should be gone. Then do a gentle wash. If any of the stains remain just repeat the Revive step and they will be gone. It hasn't failed me yet.
AND... if they have colorful embroidery on them it won't bleach out the colors.😊
@@anniejones2640 if you soak them in hot water, will the linen shrink?
We have that cash register in our family! It was in my GF 's general store! I've only ever seen it two other places: the Waltons TV show and a restaurant in Bosnia Herzegovina ( Eastern Europe).
Laura! Fascinating treasures galore!! Oh, what fun to shop along with you!! I can't help but notice you passed up an Elsa Schiaparelli scarf for $3.75; she is one of the most famous Italian designers! Fun, fun!! Your Italy trip was magical!!
I just posted a comment on that same scarf...but when she pulled it out, one corner was completely shredded. Consoling myself that it didn't have a very exceptional design. 😉
Here we goooooo! Another fun video watching Laura snag some fantastic treasures!
I can’t wait to see the haul and how you style it all. What a road trip.👏👏👏
That sweet creamer set @ 22:10 - glad you picked it up! I think is Elmer E. Gorton of American Terra Cotta & Ceramic Co. (1886 - 1927). He was a ceramicist and chemist. I Swear - Oregon has the BEST stores! And they look practically empty of shoppers!
I collect white pitchers. What a great shop. My boyfriend and I used to go thrifting every weekend. Sadly he is no longer with us. He was the absolute best you could find. It's been rough.
I’m so very sorry for your loss ❤️
@@leftcoastrevivalsPraying for you and hope you feel he is always with you still . our human minds don't understand how this could be, but one day we will be back with our loved ones . I've been a widow for almost 45 years . My husband wrote a letter to my 2 very young daughters and me , saying " he would always be at our side and use him for strength . I've been comforted at times when I think back to his beautiful letter. I'm so sorry you are going through this . I'm now 84. My daughters are in their early 50's and now I have 5 grandchildren. Have faith , you will always miss your boyfriend , but the hurt softens as time passes and you will be happy.
You may not have the time but linens are so clean. I dump a heaping cup of oxyclean in my lobster pot filled with boiling water, or almost boiling. Let soak, stir with a wooden spoon, drain, rinse., this is important two or three rinses May be necessary. 6:01 After rinsing I take to a clean table on my patio covered with a big white towel. If there’s any stain left the sun will finish it.
Literally just thought where is Laura, and you popped up! Yay!
Yes, me too... I can't wait for the Italian trip videos... love watching her!
Girl!!! You need a van!! Loved this video!!!
Too funny, I was thinking the same thing!
I love vintage fabrics. Lately I've taken to buying stained ones and working to make them new again. Takes time but it is a satisfying new hobby.
That’s wonderful!!!
Any advise you have about this would be much appreciated. I am constantly coming across stained vintage lace/linens and I pass them bc I'm not sure of how to tackle the cleaning.
I often use "Sharpies" to hide scratches and mars. They come in all colors. Also nail polish is great for ceramics, etc...
I have both of the Egyptian vases that you found, purchased new from Franklin Mint in the 90s. I have them packed in a box since I moved. Seeing them again on your vlog I must get them out!
Yes!! Get those beauties out! 😍
Oh yeah, I would totally drive home with a huge vase in my lap. Take it all home girl!!!
😂 love it!
Great finds. I have an embarrassingly large collection of vintage linens. Oxiclean gets out 98% of any stain I've encountered over my 30+ years of collecting.
You do have to soak the linens for several hours but it works great.
Thanks for the info, I have a huge box of linens and just thrifted a large box of very old handkerchiefs, quite a few have stains.
@@brendaberry6648 yes! And use the hottest water possible for the fabric type.
I just wish they had a non-scented version. It's so heavily perfumed :(
@@queaniesincetip4363 my husband uses a cleaner to soak empty wine bottles in before refilling that he claims is the same as Oxi-clean, it’s called One Step and also uses O2 to clean. While there is a slight odor to it, it is not perfume.
So, I can still see out your back window from the front seat; there is PLENTY of room for new treasures!😊
It’s so hard for me when you pick up something I really love. That Chinese teapot with leaves on it…..oh my! I am screaming…buy it …buy it! But sadly…you don’t hear me! 😂
I giggled every time you said you had no room in the car…4 shops ago…and scored big time at each place. I loved it! Super great haul of gorgeous items! 😂❤
🤷🏻♀️🤣
Jukebox price please
Laura, you are a true inspiration x
I was glad the volume was much better this time. I like watching you on your little trips such marvelous finds.
LAURA FOR NOT HAVING ENOUGH SPACE YOU SURE BOUGHT ALOT OF THINGS AND SUCH BEAUTIFUL THINGS ❤😃🥰🦋🦋🦋🌻🌻🌻🐝
The brass cutlery is sublime , beautiful and I would have snapped it up too!
I’m so glad I did too! I almost hesitated at the last minute because of the cost but I knew I wouldn’t ever find a set that complete again and would regret it.
I’m always so excited when you post a new video! And after all the fun of watching you shop, there is the decorating reveals! Better than Christmas!
Every time you said 'we are getting this!' I was like giiiirrrl...... Can't say I blame you though, those last 2 stops were amazing! When it comes to how much you can pack in a car on trips, my family's philosophy has always been 'one more thing'. And you get fond memories of the ride home with your arms around an antique overmantel...😆 Bring on the unpacking show-n-tell!
I would have taken the Schaperelli scarf just to have one!
Sadly it was totally destroyed.
Thank you Laura for taking us to a new location. Great finds
I grew up in the 70s & 80s going to bars with my dad (in the daytime)and he would always give me change to play the jukebox. He would also let me pull the lever to get his cigarettes out the machine.. These are great memories for me...I would love to have one & a cig machine to put candy bars in
Love shopping along with you, Laura. You found great treasures 😊
So many fabulous finds!
I bought my first piece of myrtle wood while driving through Oregon back in the 1970’s. I’ve loved it ever since.
I am watching from Montreal Canada and just amazed at every stop you make one awesome thrift store and antique shop after with awesome bargains. I can't wait to see everything at the end of your road trip have a wonderful weekend.
Same here. I haven’t thrift much 2019. ND Such stores/antique malls are very, very few in Montreal and got to wait to thrift in Florida during winter. Mind you, i don’t collect as much as before. Being 71, i’ve slowed down accumulating. Items have to really appealed to me. So that’s why i love watching Laura discovering treasures. ❤
I live in Toronto, I don't remember so much antique items here. Most of what I see is not that old.
Hello Montreal.. I lived there in 1969 as a 14 year old ... Watched them walk in the moon while living there. Only lived there for one year, my father's job took us there. My teacher gave up on teaching me French...lolol
Absolutely love learning mid century from you. I've totally redecorated my great room/office area in mid century. Makes me smile every time I look at it. Thank you
oh my Laura so many beautiful things, what a great adventure. ty as always for sharing.
The item you called a pestle goes with a colander. ❤
You put either cooked apples or cooked tomatoes in the colander and use the wooden ‘paddle’ to smash the fruit against the sides of the colander and squeeze it out the tiny holes… applesauce or tomato sauce.
Oh Laura!! What beautiful things you found! The poppy painting and that gorgeous flatware are my very favorite!!
Enjoy all your treasures! 💕
Laura, you find the best thrifts! And have such a good eye for decoring your home with just the right pieces and accessories.
Well that was a lot of fun, watching you shop.
Hi Laura. Thank you for showing your road trip. I have really enjoyed it so many different antique /thrift shops and a vast ray of treasures not forgetting some beautiful scenery along the way.
What fabulous finds! Can't wait to see when you unpack and see everything , and when you get pieces cleaned up how they turned out, how you display and style everything. You are so much fun to go shopping with and I'm amazed at the scores of amazing prices!
It blows my mind the things you find and the amazing prices
Great fun! You and my daughter would get along so well with you organizing and packing skills! Thanks for taking us along. ( I love myrtle wool, too! Not just because it’s beautiful, but also because it’s unique to our beloved Oregon!). 💚💚💚
Goodwill finds great! The lamp to die for. Even the weird shaped vase is beautiful.
Wow! Really really good stuff! The hunt is so much fun.
A friend of mine I work with has the same style of folding table with the brass top. She inherited it from her mom and also some beautiful scarves and throws. Oh and a gorgeous tea set. So gorgeous!
If you want to get linens truly white - wash them your favourite way but dry them by laying them on the lawn in the bright sun. I always put a old sheet down and then laid out my stained things.
Bravo Laura! You gave us a big chunk of your thrift journey this time. It was worth the wait😊. Loved all your finds😍
Great road trip. Thanks for taking us along.
Laura, this was so much fun to watch. You really inspire and educate me on what to look out for. Love your videos.
I drooled over the Egyptian vases 🤩🤩🤩🤩 I loved the entire haul, yet those particular vases are my favourite!! Excellent video,as always, Laura - thank you!
Love going these trips with you ❤ You are adorable & so knowledgeable. Your beautiful smile brightens my day. 😊
Laura!! So excited !! You found the MOST Amazing stuff!! I am so excited to see it all and see it styled up!! I have been so excited for this video to come out!! Can’t wait for the next one!!! You are my inspiration ❤️💕!!!
It's fun to see your shopping and travels
Hi Laura,I can’t belive you found soooo many beautiful items .WELL done you ,I always love coming around with you ,lv Ann uk 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️❤️
What a great haul! So much fun stuff! But I would have snatched up that Calla Lily vase lickity split!
wow FANTASTIC video Laura! So much fun! 🎉🎉🎉
Not long ago I walked into a Goodwill here in Indianapolis and on a cart not yet put on display was the Louisville Stoneware cornflower pattern water cooler - perfect condition - for $3.99. I love Louisville Stoneware and Hadley pottery so I was delighted. You have such good taste and a good eye in what you collect. Fun to watch!
Great haul! Those hanging ceramic lamps, loved those. 😊
I love your videos!! Thanks for all your great work!!!
Wow. This trip was amazing!!!!❤
Thank you for this great shopping trip👍
I love those brass candle holders so much , I would have wrapped them and ducked taped on top of my Suv ,deadheading home !!!!
Hi, Laura! I’ve been waiting for you to post this video, since I was in Klamath Falls on a thrifting day with 2 girlfriends not long after you were there (and saw your table cards on the counter advertising the Rose City Vintage Market/Left Coast Flea at Keepers!) 🥳 We too hit the Goodwill, both Hospice stores (scored some myrtlewood there), and Keepers (still having a number of vendor sales, sooo good!), but sadly did not have time to make it everywhere and now clearly need to return to hit the last 2 stops on your tour (Spring Street Antiques, wowsa!). Oh, Klamath Goodwill store is actually part of a network of stores called Southern Oregon Goodwill (include Klamath, Medford, Ashland, White City, Central Point, Grants Pass, Roseburg and Yreka in No. California) and they do some distribution among all of the stores (I’m in them enough the staff at many stores know me, and have a high school friend who works in the Grants Pass one, so I ask them all about how things work-plus my donations at my local GW in GP I’ve actually later seen at other stores). But we were also pleasantly surprised at all of the great finds at that GW location. What pawn shop did you stop at (we saw one when downtown near our lunch spot, Leap of Taste, so yummy, on Main Street. Would be interested to know, great jewelry finds!) Glad you had so much success in such a small community--and love the Belgium pottery piece, found one quite similar at my GW, very cool. 🌸
Oh my! Wow! Completely stunned.
we used a pestle like that in a cone shape colander to make applesauce...cook the apples and place in colander and the pestle squeezes the sauce out and leaves the peeling in the colander😄
That's exactly what we had Also Mom alway used it for Making applesauce.
My mom had that same one but used it to make jelly. I don't have it anymore, but remember it was a lot of fun, and a bit messy. Blackberry jelly was the best.
I bought the McCoy vase at 10:04 with the red leaf design at a Goodwill here in Toronto, many years ago, and then let it go in one of my declutterings.
This was just so much fun. I felt like I was drooling a bit. Loved sooo many yhings but the painting with poppies was great
I have that cast iron cat. Mine has round tiles in the two circles. Ebay has one and it's listed as an ashtray. I would think using it as an ashtray, the cigarette would sit between the legs and you'd put out the cigarette on one of the tiles. I have mine sitting on a table. It's too cute to let it get dirty.
Now thats a car load. 😅 Another fantastic video ! I can't wait to see what you do with all your items. 😊💖
I enjoyed the video so much , it's so beautiful items 🎉🎉 thank you for sharing . ❤
WOW, non stop amazing finds!!!
Such good packing, great adventure ❤🦘
Those Egyptian vases are worth lots of money wow great find!!
Love the brass flatware! 😍
So amazing finds ! I love it all!!
This was a delightful and fun video, thank you so much for posting and sharing! I felt as if I were right there with you, lol! Can't wait to see your display when you return home, AWESOME!!!
Omg what a freaking haul! Love love love it all!
Your life looks so fun!! Thanks for sharing. I love coming along.
I adore Oregon Myrtlewood. So extraordinarily lovely! I have a few pieces myself. Also, the onyx chess set reminds me of one my parents had for many years--and probably still have tucked away somewhere. Might be time to bring it back out. Love the woven basket and the cast-iron kitty. And congrats on finding your little table.
laura I love how you put things together
Today I was feeling so low, but your positive vibes thrifting made me happy 😅🎉😅🎉😅🎉 Thank you for your content!
I'm really enjoying your videos! Thank you so much!!
LOVE this adventure! Great finds, and love the store that did a RAMP instead of stairs. I have horrible knees and can do a ramp, but not stairs!!
You’re just wonderful! I love watching you do your thing..
The tall jar, picture you passed on, I don’t think I could have left it! I love it!
A birder and a salt gal! Me too! Great haul!
Great video, Laura! Love everything!🥰👍💜
Fun trip! Thanks for taking me along.
Yes, a stone OR a vintage beautiful marble!
Good to have you back!
I really had fun in this road trip. You are amazing!
Great end t this adventure! So much fun!!
Missed You Laura I hope the Italy trip was fabulous! Great Video!
