Has anyone mentioned the volume of your videos? I wish you could turn it up. Love watching your finds, but I can barely hear you without turning my phone up to the highest point and then the ads blast my ears. Just a suggestion.

The pottery duck @ 17:18 is a Margaret Hudson piece. She had quite a following in the CA Central Valley. I have several of her pieces that my husband bought for me in Fresno, CA. PS you may want to check the volume level on your video- I had to turn mine up to full volume to hear you - then got blasted out with every commercial break.

I had to turn my laptop up to 100 and them play with the speaker volume during commercials. Can't always be perfect.
Haha! I didn’t see a single penguin! I was so sad. I am the keeper of penguins! I only have 2 right now but if I find them for $20 or less, I get them. Anytime I take them to a get together, somebody comments they’d like one. I like to keep a backstock for 🎁!
My daughter in law does parties for work and family, and she, my son, and her brother are all gourmet cooks. At Christmas she did a kinda charcuterie table for work and she used it fot something hot. She said she could use another one and I just happened to have an extra. And my granddaughter didn’t have one, so I had one for her.
There was a penguin cocktail shaker she pointed out when she found the monkey and bear and cockerel shakers x

The wooden Italian bowl is a “grolla” and you make a specific alcoholic drink in it and yes, you pass it around. It’s traditional of Aosta valley.

You're right about the Italian friendship cup! It's for friendship coffee! I found one for $15 a couple months ago at a thrift store. When I did my research I learned that friendship coffee is coffee with alcohol.😊

Most of the items in my house came from flea market in Europe when we were stationed overseas 72-96.
LOL! the corn on the cob pans, I had two one from my mother in law and one from her mother. I gave them to my daughter, who made brownies in them, frosted with fudge frosting and called them "turds" for a themed Halloween party

Try negotiating the price on an item you love, but is slightly over budget. I tied it at a Goodwill and it worked! I got a really nice table fire pit and 4 chairs for only $125; $50 off the posted price!
The “pokey” thing is a floral frog. Put in bottom of vase for flower stems. PS I can hear you just fine.

I have one of the friendship cup. You pour liquor in and then it is passed around and everyone has one hole to drink from. I got it in a small village in the Aosta valley in northern Italy. They are generally hand carved from a nice wooden piece. Quite intriguing, no?
Yes there are some ducks that have a buff of feathers on their head. I found a hand carved wooden duck last month,
I think the horse snake planter actually looks like dragons to me. 😊
I have made corn bread in one of those cast iron cornbread pans. It was my father’s mother, so my Grammy Higgins.

I love a good road trip/thrift experience! My mom and I once traveled the back roads from Missouri to Utah and stopped at the garage sales. It was a blast!
These places have been so jam packed with treasures. Must have been hard to keep to a schedule. I’ll bet you could’ve spent DAYS in Reno. What a lot of history in this Wild West place!
Laura, I have such a love of brass especially the black enamel vases or some say they are candle holders. You used to pick them up but not lately. I have found two at different times and just love them so much. Loved the beautiful brass box.

Wow! I just was watching your Italy tour on Jeffrey’s channel thinking I really needed to get my passport renewed so I could visit cousins in Northern Italy, when this Reno visit popped up. This is where I was born and where a lot of my family settled. There is a lot of history there and there was a lot of Italians that settled there. I’m surprised you did not find more Italian pottery. Yes, a lot of interesting people lived in Reno in the 40’s and 50’s. My mother had a lot of interesting stories (she worked as a bookkeeper for the Reno PD). It’s been a while since I was done there ( I live in your area) but now I will have to check out their thrift stores and maybe some pawn shops ( people pawn some interesting things to fund their gambling) too. Love your videos……keep them coming!

I live in Reno and I didn't know there were so many thrift stores here, other than Goodwill and Junkie.
A few years back, I found a great St. Vincent de Paul thrift in Reno. Amazing clothing and prices.
Also, if you're ever in Winnemucca, you need to find the Frugal Flamingo.

I live in Virginia City, NV, and I used to shop Reno thrift stores years ago. I didn't know about the first 3 places, but I'm glad you found Junkee's. I spent a lot of time lots of time and cash when I was there last. Both my daughter and I love it there. She takes in her clothes and gets credit for other clothes! Last time we both were there, she had to have an armadillo purse with red gemstone eyes! I didn"t know the other places either! I got some shoppin' to do! That was a fun trip and only 35 mins. away from my home!!!!

I use the corn stick maker often, but I’m close to eighty years old. If you like cornbread with chili or soups it is great.
I just found one of those carved wooden Italian share cup things in charity for £4!. I’d never seen one before either. I removed the lid, cut down a clear plastic pot so it’s hidden within, then added a flower frog and some water and it’s made the most perfect and rustic Ikebana vase.
At the timestamp 15:30 those those are borrow glass rods they are worth a pretty penny to the flame Work glassworker. Shoot, I wish I were there I would’ve bought those in a heartbeat.

I've lived in Reno for 6 years and sometimes you will find some really good stuff in Goodwill as well! I wished I looked around more back then, but I am back home in Vegas now. I hope I can find a good deal on some art deco pieces / furniture.

I KNEW you had been in Klamath Falls, I saw your cards for the Left Coast Flea when my girlfriends and I were over there thrifting a weekend before last. The couple at the antique store had them on the counter! Woohoo! Klamath was great, we found so many good deals between Goodwill, the hospice stores and the antique/vintage store. Hope you did as well (and the Reno stores look amazing. Yes, we in Southern Oregon have a tendency to visit Reno frequently as it isn’t too far to go from us!)

The beautiful blue painted glass vase looks like it was hand painted on white milk glass. You noted that there was an Italian stamp on it. The Italians, I believe, invented milk glass hundreds of years ago. Thanks for such a curated video. Loved it and can’t wait to see your finds from Italy!
