    I am always amazed at your art deco work, they come out amazing.
    As to adhering veneer on a curved surface. You would need a router with a set of graduated cove bits. You can use them to cut a rounded cove into a piece of wood that matches the curve of the piece. You can then use that piece of wood to clamp down and apply even pressure to the curve when glueing. I would cover the wood with packing tape because the glue will not stick to the tape. ;)

      @designabeej Před 6 měsíci +2

      If u didn’t have a router, You could also make the mold out of Bondo or something similar, by covering the curved edge with tape & covering it with bondo, cos as soon as the bondo dries u have ur mold & u’d clamp it down over the new veneer same way as you would a routed piece of wood to add the pressure until the veneer sticks

    A feminine part... I was thinking the same thing!!! Absolutely stunning piece. With the veneer, it's hard. I take my cue's from Thomas Johnson on here. If you haven't run into this youtuber, he is AMAZING and knows EVERYTHING about restoration. He almost always has a veneer repair to do and you can watch him do it. That might help for the future. I think your veneer was losing integrity to the substrate to begin with and that's not your fault. New veneer would have to be gently bent in that 'waterfall' position. I recently repaired a waterfall piece, I KNEW it was SO fragile so I didn't mess with restoration like I normally would. I cut my losses and gently restained it. Anyway, this is a gorgeous piece - I'm always amazed at your striping, thanks for the video. 🥰

    Not sure how I missed your new upload. I had been checking for it. Anyway, there is a channel called John's Furniture Repair that might interest you. Despite the name, it is run by his daughter. She has decades of experience and seems like a genuinely cool person. I'm sure if you were to reach out to her, she might be able to give you some insights or ideas to those more challenging repairs. You will use less stain if you use a lower grit than 400. 400 is supposed to be for polishing and therefore burnishes the wood. It is better to stop at 150 or 180. Then spray a bit of water to raise the grain then sand again and stain. Even paint will have better adhesion at a lower grit. But take my advice with a grain of salt and do you.

    Brainstorming here... Would the heat gun reactivate the glue enough to make the veneer restick if you clamped it?
