I ended up putting some padding from a knee pad between the tube and booster. Never could make it work. 1/4 inch flexible extension is great advice. I tried so many different things I saw on other videos before finding a flexible extension at the parts house. 45% over SAC injectors, 64mm turbo, super stock lbz cp3 converted to lb7 just a few goodies on my 04 LB7 ZF6 CC LB 4x4. Nice truck and video.
Just some helpful info on the job, some is LMM specific but very similar
Most of those vids you see, are older models the, LMM have all kinds of
stuff in the way.
The coolant line in back to heater core is 5/8" ID and can be a Gates 18743 U formed
The coolant line down there is 1/2" ID and a Gates 28460 is a formed 90 deg for about $9 on Amazon. I used 5/16' fuel line also but the sharp bends kinked the hose. So as a good recycler I found an aluminum pipe that was attached to something that fell off under the truck one day.
It's a 5/16" OD pipe so a little pipe bender and trim to length and slide into hoses keep em from kinking
Y bridge bolts are M6-1.0x25mm flange bolt. I always like to upgrade to
Grade 8 when possible
The Turbo is simpler with a 6 pt 17mm swivel/flex socket from a kit in stock at Autozone #62-850 $20ish.
The Ybridge bolts are easier with a 1/4dr flex extension in a 2pc kit at Oreilly's
Sweet!
Put your ac line back into the clip. Looks so good!
e 1987 thanks!
hey any advice putting the hit side intercooler pipe on i have a lb7 and its such a pain
Why do you want turbo bark?
Did this make the turbo louder?
Emichaels 310 it definitley did! A lot more airflow!
Did you ever figure out a way to make it not rub on the booster. I just bought an HSP kit and I am having the same issue. It looks like if you were to cut a little bit off of the boot going onto the turbo it would clear it
Brad Vickers yes your exactly right. I did that and i have no more clearance issuer.
Diesel Anatomy okay awesome. Did you use a gasket on the new intake horn? I'm having trouble keeping the gasket lined up while getting wedged In there
@@99chev60 just use a little rtv, what I have been doing
Cole Vilneff okay I'll try that. One more question. I trimmed the boot and don't have clearance issues anymore but it seems like the pipe just isn't long enough. I have pulled the boot off the intercooler as much as possible with being able to keep a good seal, and the pipe barely reaches the boot.
Brad Vickers hmm that is weird. I didnt have those issues. How much did you cut off the turbo side of the boot?
You should put a brush guard on your truck, I think it would look pretty good
Boo
Music sucks, why not just talk us through this?
Honestly you can create great content, but lose the crappy music.
Be original!! Constructive criticism, stand out from all the rest!!!
