This is fab I only wish I’d seen this before I flew to oz from the uk last month. I am a veggie but I eat eggs and cheese etc, the veggie meal I had was vegan (it wasn’t made clear on booking) I went without food both ways and was so hungry 😢 missing out on food when your flying for 20 hours is tough going! My partner whom eats meat loved his meals though and the breakfast he had was a cheese omelette so he gave me that and he had my just fruit (god bless him!) lol x

Wow, superb and very informative indeed.! I've never noticed total calories out of an airline on-board meal, where can such information be found? Besides, if a passenger requests an additional meal during same flight (not long haul one), what's the general Emirates policy and procedure on that?

Actually, I was thinking about it as well. Why they never put any information about ingredients and calories on the meal packaging. Honestly, I don't know.. I asked my friend from their catering company and she doesn't know as well.
There's information about calories only on certain products which are packed separately like butter, cheese stick, crackers and so on, but there's no information available about calories in meals that are prepared by catering.
If passenger asks for additional meal we have to first make sure that there's enough meals for everyone. So we have to tell the passenger to wait till we finish giving out the meals in the cabin and if there are any meals left we will come back to him. Usually we have like 10% of the meals left in the end, because the catering loads always some extra plus some people have their own food with them and they don't want to eat the meals we have onboard.
Emirates policy is to give the passengers as many meals as they want (if they are available).
Same thing with the drinks.

I find airline food to not be very good, except Emirates flights to and from Japan which had pretty nice Japanese meals. I remember the rice congee for breakfast was tasty. I travelled on Business class once the food there was much nicer than Economy. For the low fat meat, I would have assumed margarine and cottage cheese are high in fat

As an Emirates Flight Catering staff, all foods with allergens are separated. Separated cook pans,chillers and storages to prevent cross-contamination so don't need to worry.

Im not Jewish buy sometimes i order kosher meal because I want something else than chicken or pasta.
i quit emirates after they2 times ran out of food for me on SAME flight first time just me second time about 4 of us, yes by my choice i picked last seat on plane because i wanted back of plane by toilet and really no one behind me, i wrote letter but never received reply, now go with Korean and ANA yearly a bangkok to US flight i do yearly.
