- Emirates Flight Catering in Dubai makes all the snacks, main dishes and desserts served aboard the airline's 200,000 flights each year. The facility runs 24-7, dishing out 110 million meals a year. Emirates' 1,800 chefs from around the world create region-specific menus for each flight.
A previous version of this video inaccurately identified lamb chops as pork chops. Emirates serves only Halal food and has never served pork aboard their flights. We regret the error.

And she was stopped by the security scan😂Gosh we were so embarrassed and told her she needs to STOP (my grandmother has a habit of taking things from hotels and planes even though we keep telling her it's wrong)

I did also with Turkish Airlines but it was a blanket. I don't do that usually but I was still in the process of completely healing after having a severe asthma-bronchitis and had to fly back already back to my work. Though I'm 95% healed my body was still weak. During our stopover in Turkey we had to transfer from one plane to another with a bus and it was really cold. My winter jacket was in my check-in luggage so I have no access. I was so cold that I grabbed an airline blanket wrapped it around me and nobody notices. I was afraid they will stopped me for stealing but I was too cold and I was afraid my bronchitis reappear due to the cold weather. I guess the grayish-blue color of the blanket made it appear like a part of my clothes and nobody noticed me. I have the blanket til now. I kept it with me though I have the urge to return it. I don't. Kinda embarrassing. 😊

@@adanactnomew7085 ahaha it’s a secret code additive! If you look at ingridents (common amongst candy / sweets) you might see some codes which say “E120” “E240” etc… snd they hide food additives. Also they can hide animals including fish, pigs cows and other living creatures which is a concern for me as a vegetarian. Another to look out for is “color E120” because that is something called Carmine / cocheneal…. And that… which is used in many red things such as strawberry ice cream or red lollies…. Is crushed beetles. Red female wingless beetles who live on cacti in fact… hope that sums it up for you :)

Short travels with Ryanair have no free food. You can pay for a croissant, some coffee, alcohol, that stuff. But it’s very cheap and I don’t give a damn in a 2h flight

I flew 2 emirates flights in a row for when I went on holiday. It’s so amazing they even give young kids free toys too keep! The food I wasn’t too keen on but overall, it’s the best airline I flew

Pro tip: if you’re traveling with a kid on an Emirates flight, set them up with a kiddie meal. Note while your booking or tell the counter. They would get bunch of freebies and snacks. Like a snack box full of chocolates, a cute bag and set of coloring book plus special desserts and meal.

This is incredible. Having worked in an industrial kitchen, I know most of what's going on here, but I've never seen this scale. It's unbelievable they still have chef flipping pancakes etc.!
You should mention the enormous amount of food waste they create as well. How literally everything that doesn't get opened or eaten is thrown away at the end of the flight. Including unopened drinks, fruits, perfectly good packaged foods and all the full meals that weren't touched. You name it it will be wasted. They won't even donate it. This is the very ugly side of the industry. Mention those numbers too.

I think the main reason for that is because it would cost a lot of money to collect all the excess from all the flights they have around the world, bring it to a central location, and create a distribution network. They would lose money trying to create such a system. A better solution would be to have each airport collect food from ALL airlines arriving there and distribute to local shelters...maybe they could have a tie up with an NGO

I get your thought but as a flight attendant I don’t think this is a good idea for all kinds of foods. Unopened soft drinks and juices that don’t need cooling are not necessarily thrown away by every airline. Also, I don’t know the exact reason but from experience I can see that the air inside an aircraft doesn’t do much good to the freshness of foods, very often salads and other perishable fresh foods go horribly off when you would take it off the aircraft to eat later.

it depends on whether your flying domestic or international. if its domestic, youll most like get served peanuts. if you fly international you get a 189 course meal

they have not transparency on the bad things that are gone to waste especially all the plastic and perfectly good packaged food that was not even touch they only show the good side and this dishes are only for first class or economy

The Gamer Lis I travelled from France to Dubai and Dubai back to India last week . In economy class . This is the food they give . First class and business class have WAY WAY better food with main dishes side dishes and all sorts served separately (it’s similar to a high end restaurant) . Please do ur research

From a frequent flyer, thank you, your work is totally appreciated. In most other airlines I'm better off taking my own food aboard, but in Emirates, Cathay and Singaporean I always feel taken care of.
emirates should make a restaurant too not just for there airline so we can eat there delicous looking food
Only Americans who haven’t flown on a decent airline will believe that that food is first class level. Literally any other airline outside of the US probably has great economy food like Singapore or Qantas.

Personally, I've always enjoyed airline foods, the few times I've been on emirates were the most memorable journey's I've ever been on!
