The 116610LV is a beauty.
Around 2011 - 2016, I remember seeing these on display at the AD, sometimes two at a time. I didn't appreciate Rolex much at the time, and favored Breitling and Omega. I greatly regret not picking one up years ago when they were readily available and before being discontinued.
We need a new state of the collection.

The Kermit (16610LV) is the 50th Anniversary Sub, not the Hulk.
I was thinking the same. Didn’t want to put it out there though in case I was wrong! 😂👍
I thought that too.
That dial on the Hulk turns jet black in some lights and then looks similar to the Kermit so maybe that's where the mistake was made.
edit. wrote this at the start of the video and Oisin went on later in the vid to say the same thing about the dial so perhaps that's what happened

@@morganthedruid1 Small mistake, not a big deal. Love his videos, except the ones about how to pronounce the names of various watch manufacturers.
The alpinist video is still my favourite! As an alpine climber, and seiko lover who also fell in love with Cortina, it just worked so well for me! Great soundtrack too! Congratulations on the new addition to the collection!

Sitting at home quaffing my cheap Italian red whilst loving your Hulk unboxing. My favourite watch that I bought at the AD back in 2019 & I will never sell. Timeless classic & oh so different
There I was thinking that I would have an alcohol free evening, then I see that Italy's most famous Irishman is doing another unboxing. Thank God for a decent Shiraz!
Congrats on the watch. I do the same thing when removing links, shortening the south end. Found it also did a better job centering the clasp on the middle of the underside of my wrist. Great video as always.
I've bought the Seiko mountain glacier Limited Edition with the straps. Considering to buy the bracelet as an addition. Really an amazing watch!!

I paid 6000 Euros for a Hulk 5 years ago - very nice watch I traded it in on a new Batman then got bored with that and traded that in on a solid gold GMT green dial and then traded that in for a Batgirl and out of all of them i miss the Hulk. was recently offered a new old stock Hulk but the price was too high.

Great Unboxing , the end of the video was really good with the Piano in Minor mixed in with the watches , you could feel the weight of the piano and the thickness of the air .

Its hard to capture this watch when the dial is at its best. Its usually in natural soft light. The dial takes that deep deep green color and almost looks like a flat finish. Love this watch.

I was very lucky to pick mine up from my AD at the beginning of 2020.
What an amazing watch. Apparently it was so hard to make the dial and with Rolex being very selective many of the dials they made didn’t get used.

I have a Hulk and in all honesty find it Mehhh, it's by far the least attractive case of all the references and the green makes it less wearable than standard subs. It's pretty for sure and looks great in pics but it's by far the last of my Rolex's I reach for. If I was only going to have one sub it would be a four or five digit or maybe the new 41mm (not really sure as I’ve never held one yet). It is true though it does look black at many angles.
I feel the same way. I have the Hulk and I had a Kermit. Sold the Kermit, never wore either of them that’s why I sold the Kermit. I don’t wear green that much. Except on St. Patrick’s Day. So, I found a new use for it.
Four digit sub.. Thats a territory this green sub would never come close to.

I had a hulk for a long time. Like you I appreciate its darker color scheme. But when I took it outside it was two flamboyant for my tastes. In the summertime, it looks like Miami Beach.

now that it's out of production, i actually quite like the maxi case too :D honestly, it somehow grew on me, yes it's a bit louder as you said back in the day in your review, but it's an otherwise pretty damn quiet design, so it can use a bit of loudness.
At 20:23, I've been doing the exact same thing to my bracelets recently. Need to have the links longer on the outside of the wrist to get the clasp to lay more center to center left. Literally the exact same amount of total links would feel too tight but having it asymmetrical fixed the issue.
Cool video, interesting how you remove the links more on one side to sit on your wrist, I have the same issue so great tip.
I don't quite agree about the lume - the superluminova is a yellowish green, whereas the chromalite is a bluish green (and I never understand why people refer to it as blue, but I digress) and I think the chromalite suits the hulk better, but just my opinion
Great pick up, congrats! I still struggle a little with the Hulk's hue of green. To my eyes, the Kermit has the best shade... deep, rich, almost jewel-toned and easy on the eyes. But the Hulk has more of a chameleon nature with its variability.

Used to have this watch but honestly prefer my newer “Cermit” just because the green dial is a bit too much for me, especially for a daily wear type of watch.
